what should you look for in a relationship that are good signs that it will work long term?....get on well with each other?....good sex?.....physically attractive?.....shared interests?....good personality?.....what are the things you should look for?

I have a friend who teaches marriage education (classes for those intending to marry in the catholic church). She says 3 main things tend to break up marriages:
1. issues about money
2. issueas about each other's families (a good example: where will Christmas be celebrated?)
3. differences in parenting styles

In a casual relationship, or in the early stages, these may not seem relevant. But warning bells should go off if: your new partner hates your mum, spends too much when you are a penny-pincher, doesn't want kids EVER while you are simply dying to have a baby.

Its sounds cheesey but sometimes you just click with someone and the rest falls into place.

I was with my ex for 7 yrs, engaged, mortgage and she ended it and it was the end of the world at the time. proper gutted.

But I met my current bird 15 months ago and i've never been happier. straight we away got on, we'd had similar experiences with our ex's so we were a bit cautious with eachother at first, so fingers crossed.

But in my experience you've got to keep in mind any bird you get will be hard work (no offence to the ladies as I know it works both ways). you could be with anna kournakova and she'd wreck your head sometimes. pros and cons of a relationship.

1.She is good in bed.
2.We get along good and she does not do stuff that annoys the hell out me. (I have listed what annoys me)
3.And she has the physical attributes that rev my motor.

For the most part they have never had complaints. The only complaints i have had from them are that i don't like to lie in our own sweat amd talk about crap afterwards and them getting annoyed that i don't like to go downtown. If they told me that unless i changed my outlook on those things they would leave, then they would have to tell their story walkin' because i not into that stuff.

If i could not perform in bed and they left then i wouldn't be able to blame them because the sex life is important. If the sex life is not working the relationship will not last.

They have also got annoyed because i like to be on the bottom and they have also liked to be on the bottom. So they complained about that.

that i haven't felt the need to throw anything that ain't tied down at the chick.

For me, things like honesty, trustworthiness, a balance of devotion and independence and some compatible spiritual inclinations are paramount. I also would be a liar if I said a certain physical attractiveness didn't matter to me. (Although my idea of what's attractive doesn't always jibe with the "norm.") And if you and a person can be comfortably silent for an extended period, I've found that's usually a good sign.
