I have listened to this a few times and to be honest apart from the guitar part there really isn't anything which makes me want to hear it again unlike Stare and Hardrocklover, which I am more than happy to give another spin.It is my least favorite track from AOA as I find it very pedestrian, zaccharine and it does not really go anywhere. It should. It should go home. And stay there. The new version is not really like a new version, ie. like the two version of the Dance where the new version kicked the butt of the original, it is more like a remix and not a very interesting one. Apart from the guitar part, which is great. And this is what concerns me about what I read in one of the recent interviews where Joshua Welton was stating that on some of these new tracks Prince did not even play any instruments, ie the entire music seems to be Joshua and Prince only on vocals.... I think AOA was a great record and I do not know how much of it was Joshua, but as a safety measure I am pegging down my expectations so far it can smell the grass and buckle up for September 7th... Now I am ready to be psoitively surprised

Well, it's no 'Beginning Endlessly' but I like it. It has a refreshing, raw energy. It's bubbling.

Prince does dubstep.. now we've seen it all .. lol.
It's not that bad though. As with many Prince songs lately, it kinda starts and after a while stops, without really going anywhere. I like the guitar bit. It's a nice little 2 chord (B flat minor, F flat) jam, but that seems to be all it is.

Okay first I didnt want to listen to the remix but eventually I did. Dang! what a disapointment! The best song of AOA is totally mangeled. What a disgrace to the fans and to prince himself.

I saw this on iTunes. I prefer this version over the original, but it's still not worth paying money for. I wonder why he's using Purple Rain era artwork for the cover? Is he hinting at something or just jerking people around? Meh. Public interest isn't there. มีเพียงความว่างเปล่า 只有空虚 Dim ond gwacter 만 공허함이있다 唯一の虚しさがあります There is only the void.

Public interest isn't there. a shame that uses a Purple rain era artwork for a single that's noway near as good as anything he wrote back in 1983-84... [Edited 9/3/15 16:00pm] Welcome 2 The Dawn

I can't remember the exact number), tracks on AOA on which Prince didn't play a note.

This is a great remix, you guys are just too picky and dogmatic.

I'm sure I read it was 3 songs and people were speculating it was U Know, Way Back Home and affirmation III.

I agree. There is a 30-second guitar solo here that I find very inspiring. I'm hearing this in my head all the time. And I don't want it turned down. If you're a beat maker/producer — and it turns out that you might be pretty damn good at what you do — the best thing that can possibly happen to you is to run into a musical genius who genuinely seems inspired. Made me feel like I was listening to the extended and extraordinary "I Would Die For You" back in 1996 at ridculous volumes and speeds in my sports car (didn't know about most of this extra stuff until I starting collecting it all back in the early 90s.) This has nothing to do with my excitement of having a new record to dissect on Monday. I've heard what I currently believe are two great songs so far, but experience tells me that this means absolutely nothing in an album context (which I much prefer.) I loved "Avalanche" but the album I think turned out to be very small and very minor. I was somewhat indifferent to "The Work Pt. 1" but TRC slapped me square across my open mouth.

C'mon, people... Some of us like the AOA version and some prefer the new one. Choose your own and run with it... No big deal in the scheme of things. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Sure they do, it's just that in my opinion they are too picky and dogmatic about how Prince should sound. There's always the next song you know, no biggie.
