Like the original better! Funny that he posted a picture of Nefertiti and Akhenatan on Twitter saying "This Could Be Us" after Andy Allo posts the picture a couple days back with the hashtag relationship goals. Lol Prince is funny and not subtle.

eek

damn. if that's the way he feels he should just go get her back smile she's nice and her voice

complements his very well. the stuff they did together was great. but that's just the music,

no telling what their personal chemistry is like right now. it would be nice to see him be a

bit more happy in love though.

yes I would love to see Prince and Andy Allo working together again since his music improved alot when he was was with her

Yes, they made some great songs together. 'Time' is probably my favourite songs of his in recent years. I love her voice and her version of We Can Funk (Oui Can Luv)

Base! Bottom! Dynamic range! WOW I thought Prince couldnt hear certain things anymore. Oh this is a huge improvement. This one I wouldn't acuse Prince of going deaf. The mix is far far better. The thin amatuerish repulsive AOA sound is stripped away! Maybe Jay Z offered professional studio help so as to not scare away his customers. This I can hear on the radio, the other version in Guantanimo.

So 3 for 3 so far, Stare, Hardrocklover and TCBU. I understand these tracks are not going well with the six vocal people who love AOA, but for the general audience, this is far far better/not repulsive.
I can play these tracks in the car with other people without feeling embarased for Prince ...and myself for playing it in front of innocent people. Love it. Love the extended ending. Now this sounds like the Prince that makes the top of all of those lists.

This could be the best Prince album is many many years.

Stare isn't going to be on this album if I recall?... I do love Hardrocklover though, it sounds so raw. The new TCBU remix is cool, gives more life to the orginal.

Yeah I like this much better than the syruppy original. Play this loud! Listen to the vocals, they fit in nicely here. Great guitar. Those cut up vocals are a bit annoying. Still pleasantly surprised after reading comments here.

Definitly. And agree with the opinion that the original was way too weak and syrupy. Love the extended ending too, I missed those. And his vocals and guitar here are a work of art. (well exept for the thi-thi-thi-this flourish. Unnecesary)

If Stare isn't on the album then we can all look forward to an incredible show of new material we see him live on stage.

Nope, heard the whole thing and don't like it apart from the guitar solo. This should have been developed into an entirely new song with new lyrics. The "industrial" remix doesn't work for "This Could B Us" the way that the naive nostalgia of the original did.

I'm not subscribed to TIDAL, nor will I be, so all one hears is the first 30 seconds, which don't do it for me, so to speak... Then again, it's only the first 30 seconds.

Just heard the 30s snippet, which is of course too little to judge.
But fact is: I'm bored with Prince's conservative approach to music for a very very long time now. It's over and over the same old, same old. So he definitely is in need of someone who helps him to get out of his comfort zone. If Josh is the right man or not, idk. But I appreciate everything which could hint to a possible change of prince's approach and sound.

I agree with everything you said, and while the newer stuff is not 80's great, which would be difficult for artist, including Prince to ever touch, it certainly is better than the last few years worth of albums.

I actually put '3cd remaster' on the edge of the CD, but it was far too small to show up in the finished pic smile

Atleast it has some nice guitar in it. I don't hear anything experimental about it in historical context. I hear alot overkill use of echos and effects that are clichés in several electro genres. But it hasn't been used in a clever way imo. It really had the potential too though.

Agree. He was more hungry and curious when he was experimenting with sounds in the early to mid 80s. Now it kinda seems like he is trying a bit too hard.

.

Fatboy Slim is still innovative. And funky. If only P would collaborate with him. Bootsy's collaborations are my favorite "Keep That Funk Alive" "Weapon Of Choice" "Illuminati" "The Bomb" even "The Joker".

Like the version circulating that has only the first 30 seconds of the remix then goes straight into the bad ass solo starting at 2:14!

Now that is a new version of TCBU....WORD. headbang music headbang
