Printable Being one of the millions of Prince's straight fans, I've always had to justify certain things he did to my friends. I also had to omit certain tracks and just not play them because some were hard to digest because of the subliminal homosexual references. With that said, I'm still surprised at this article. This man was always androgynous and always making shit that was cross gender. This is really hypocritical from him and very stupid at this point in his life. Moreover, this makes me actually wonder about his sexuality. I always thought of him as a straight guy who manipulated the system and used sex to sell millions. However, this time around it seems as if he's in denial. Kinda like Bowie, who went from saying how he "fucked his best friend (male) and his friend's wife" to basically "I'm not gay, I hate gays!"
Though, I must say, that everyone is entitled to their opinion. Before all the gay rights people who were gay were considered "abnormal" and were looked down upon. Now that the gay is in and cool, those who do not approve of it are considered to be the abnormal ones and are looked down upon. It just doesn't make sense, because you do not have to agree with everything that's thrown your way. However, you do not have the right to disrespect or harm anyone... it's funny how people get so carried away with this thing. Did prince say he hated gay people? No. Did prince say he wanted them to die? No. He simply stated he does not believe homosexuality is right. Like I could say I don't believe eating meat is right. Personal belief. Is he a hypocrite? No, unless he is gay right now. I'm glad U pointed that out because maybe this will cause some people 2 actually look up all meanings of the word "gay". I'm str8. Anyway, it is unfortunate that whenever some1 mention the word "gay", it is often associated with homosexuality only and not a state of happiness. I often wonder when did this word have the "homosexual" meaning added 2 it. Several hundreds of years ago, that word only meant "being happy".
