prince at thd of the day takes good decisions.

he said no to the stupid hypocrate we are the world and then NO to bad song with MJ. now he doesnt fall for demagogic obama thing.

im so happy prince makes sense.

"we are the world" made those artists richer and the afican people poorer.it was a good exposure for those artists and the feeling was great. the video could make u cry, u feel love for the poor people etc...same feeling with obama. its great to vote forhim but GETTING TOO EXCITED as if barack was god is so absurd and CHEAP.

prince keeps it cool and thinks with his brain. he may be wrong but he thinks with his brain.

hmm What?

prince thinks with his brain. nod

You're not going to hear Prince, himself, come forward and say he was misquoted and that he's perfectly fine with the idea of gay marriage and homosexuality. Mainly, because he's a pussy and also because the gays have put a big chunk of change in his pockets over the years. Keeping the cash flowing is most important to him these days. Prince is a J.W. J.W.'s think homosexuality is WRONG because the Bible says it's WRONG. Some may not want to believe Prince feels this way but as a J.W. he HAS TO FEEL THIS WAY. You have to reconcile with yourself whether or not you want to support him even though he's a bigot. A cowardly bigot, I might add.

in the words of another poster.....unless i see the interview and hear him say something HIMSELF, i'm not buying it. How many of us have had things we've said twisted around or even had words up in our mouths?
From his lips to my ear is the only way i'm buying any of this. That being said....it is odd that Prince or his camp hasn't officially released a statement saying his was misquoted. Or have they???
confused

[Edited 11/19/08 8:04am]

I'm sorry that's a crock of doody Prince is NOT a bigot or a pussy as you say and he doesn't have to do anything he doesn't want to, religion or no religion. J.W.s don't like divorce but he done it twice. They don't like sex outside of marriage but he's done that too. And hetero white women/girls and hetero people of color put a helluva lot more money in his pocket than gays. You might try that with Madonna tho. I think its cowardly to not give the man the benefit of the doubt and to condemn him so easily.

Well, if it WALKS like a J.W. and TALKS like a J.W...

Besides, he wasn't asked about divorce. I'm sure if he was, he woulda told her to "get the hell out my house." Divorce is something you can put behind you and ask forgiveness for. Belief that homosexuality is wrong stays with you on a day to day basis. I mean, now that he's divorced, he can easily say "yea divorce is wrong and I shouldnt have done it. Please forgive me."

Bottom line is, if Prince had any balls he would just say what he thinks instead of being cryptic and hiding behind bible references and then putting his people on "spin-cycle."

Y'know...you might want to think about getting your facts straight. Prince's first marriage was annulled (he and Mayte were not divorced). And it was Manuela who filed for divorce...not Prince.

No they did it because they have issues with Black People in Power! Hence the Prince mess up ..Liberals always act like they can't be racist...did prince bring up the "black vote" issue nope the New Yorker did WTF?

This is a man that's been in the business (music) since 1979 and all we got from this interview was "oh your into GOD" and "oh your Black" and "oh do you like Gay People"

P needs to sack his PR people.. sad

I'm not American, and don't know the magazine, but i'm sure the cover is satirical - making fun of the fear/suspicions that many Americans held over Obama

Yeah but like someone else said unless you read the article you don't get that from the pic. It kind of shows that they can use poor judgement for the sake of selling magazines.

I've been a HUGE Prince Supporter since a kid, now at age 30!
I still Support him as an artist!
I am Homosexual and I don't agree with his views, but then again some ppl don't agree with my sexuality. So who am I to judge and who is Prince to judge.

Because of Prince, I felt even more compelled to come out as a teenager, his music taught me it was "COOL" to be who I am (in alot of folks eyes) I am different because I never had a sexual attraction to women.

So, after getting into the LOVESEXY album, I realized it was OK and now 20 years later he's saying...GOD Cleared all the HOMOS out and said enough LOL

WOW, I'm shocked, but I'm not surprised at all.
If two ppl marry, its because they love oneanother unconditionally and their not STICKING IT TO WHO EVER AND WHERE EVER. Their married!!!
GET IT!!!!
Str8 ppl are doing just the same, so its no different.
I will still support his music, but I really don't like him as a man right about now!

UM you might wanna research family law! You can't get an anullment without first having been married, you don't annul dating. And so what Mani filed first...doesn't absolve Prince of anything especially if you believe that he committed adultry thus forcing Mani to seek divorce. Jeez!!! doh!

(I don't believe he is, I have to hear it from himself) but if that is the vibe here then what do you think is the future of this section of the site?
[Edited 11/19/08 8:07am]

This brouhaha will soon pass, just like every other time he's ruffled the collective feathers of his fans. We'll talk it to death, then Prince will offer some kind of olive leaf like a new download or a few club dates, and after that we'll all move on.

I luv u Anxiety hug u always have the answers I like hearing, and yes things seems 2 work themselves out. I luv Prince and hope his fans don't leave him. I know PRINCE luvs his fans because he try very hard 2 please us, but u can't please everyone. I just want him 2 keep putting out music and do less talking. Everyone has a right to choose their own course in life. That is the beauty of

free will! God is our only judge and it is to him we render an accounting. We

do not have the right to condemn or judge one another because not one of us is

without sin. People seem to exaggerate the message of the bible to lure the

public into fighting a religious battle. The tool is to divide everyone and

spread misleading information to pull you away from God and his loving divine

principles. The bible is a mirror, when you peer into it you are faced with a

powerful choice. The key is you have the right to choose! Simple and

beautiful. I hesitate to jump to conclusions about Prince's fidelity in his

marriages and what exactly let to their demise. Prince is a JW and it is a sin

to commit adultery or fornication outside of marriage. Only the persons

directly involved know the pure truth about what has transpired.

All is seen by God, even

behind closed doors, even into the deepest most secret parts of your heart. We

cannot hide that from him! Prince can only answer to God for his actions. If he

has wronged noone in these situations, his conscience would be clear. If he did

wrong to others he will have to answer for those sins.

We all have our burdens to bear our own mountains to climb, if

we master the art of forgiveness and love toward all we will create peace and joy in our lives!

Peace and love

This shit makes me laugh and cry. Perhaps I repeat myself here but it's worth re-stating. Why on Earth, xtrafab, would you wish to be a slave? As Hitchens puts it, only the sorriest individual could see merit in being dictated to by all-seeing, all-knowing dictactor. Why would anyone want this? Think about it, you can't do anything...awake or dreaming...without the possibilty of suffering the wrath of an all-mighty something. Do u have so little faith in our species that we know not better than this? Your belief, quite simply, is a wish to be a slave. It's dangerous and absurd and you still ask me to respect the fact that you take it on faith, and have no evidence for it. What a waste!

okay, i asked you to clarify your post because it seems to me that you have a problem with people who have faith in God, however, i could have been way off, so I asked you to clarify my misinterpration if that's what it is. but instead you respond in a childish manner about humoring me and futility and knowing about me...so whatever.

This statement is wrong on so many levels.

1. I'm not advancing a philosphical standard.
2. Or propogating what I believe to be the truth
3. You can't inform and educate people who believe in dogma
4. Anyone who needs clarification on such a basic point doesn't deserve respect
5. Where's it written that I have to comply
6. What does any of this have to do with you?

who says I believe in any dogma? and even if i did who's to say i cannot be educated. people change based on being educated and getting informed. asking you for clarification signals that i am open to understanding and learning otherwise i would just stick to my one and only interpretation.

furthermore this is a free and open messsageboard and Anxiety along with anyone else is free to post their opinion (thanks Anxiety by the way biggrin )
