No, pplrain just needs to read posts and understand what they're trying to say, rather than just ignore the points and still blindly say how wonderful Prince is regardless of anything he may say or do that suggests otherwise.

I don't need to answer every question posed to me on the org ...especially if it is rhetoric.

I think Prince is human and makes mistakes but he is a great musician, that is what is missing in this interview.

If you aren't a fan what are you doing here specifically?

Who cares about gay marriage? If you're gay, fine. I don't care. If you're straight, I don't care either. However, I don't think gays should be married. Too much tax implications. Why would they want to get married, anyway? I'm actually against all marriage - gay, straight, man and dog, woman and cow, whatever... marriage is a trap. I've seen so many people screwed over by it -- especially men, who lose their homes that they paid for, reduced to living in a cheap apartment while making alimony and child support payments, it's completely sick. A woman has all the power in marriage. Marriage in today's society is irrelevant. Only stupid people get married. And only stupid people believe in God.

Marriage is defined as a legal union between a man and a woman.

I don't think that defines a gay couple union. If gays should come together then they should call it something other than a marriage and I am not being homophobic. I also think recongnizing same sex unions bring in a whole slew of other unions like people wanting to marry their cat, dog, cow or chair that they are madly in love with. Why should anyone stop them?

Wow. What an incredibly ignorant, hateful and bigoted thing to say. Gay love, in your eyes, is tantemount to bestiality and sex with an inanimate object? Maybe you were born a couple centuries too late or something.

Yea, I think that if you don't believe all human beings deserve the same civil rights, you are a bigot. And I'm fully aware that you're not alone in your beliefs. The world is one huge and bigoted place. But that's no reason to give up hope that one day the bigots of the world will see the err of their ways and truly look at their gay brothers and sisters as their equals.

And this is where the problem lies with gay marraige....people on here have said church and state dont mix but that is a complete crock!

Throughout history it has been proven that church and government go hand in hand...especially when it comes to things like gay marraige. If the church was not such a big part of government do u really think gay marraige would be illegal? Of course not and personally I don't think it should be.

LOve is love....for Goodness sake look at all the divorce rates rolleyes Prince himself has been divorced twice, yet I have seen gay couples that have been together for 30 years...even longer.

As for marrying ure ,cat, dog or a chair....come on...we are talking about marraige between to people who love one another...not inter SPECIES for goodness sake rolleyes

And most of the time people do that is because they are trying to prove some kind of point...like there are so many twits out there they would rather marry the dog lol
Some people marry themselves to prove the same thing...and I mean u have to love ureself dont u?

U know this thread is beginning to look like it belongs in P&R lol

I read this article early this morning - I have resigned from being a Prince fan – I’ve had enough of him - I will never support another Prince project - he's like the republicans want to do God's will and the democrats do not- for a person who doesn't vote because his religion tells him not too, he sure has a lot to say on politics –

Why, because he has is own oppinions about things?

That is not fair. The bible is black and white. If it says something is wrong, then it is wrong. There are fools out there that judge folks because of their interpretation but Prince isn't doing that. He was pointing things out and that was it. Now those folks who blow up abortion clinics and stand outside funerals and curse the families because the person was gay is so far from the bible...and everyone who comes from the bible shouldn't be compared to those idiots. Plus, saying these things about Prince is just as bad as what you are accusing P of doing.

I am no longer a Prince fan - I have no interest in his music - the only interest I have now is exposing him for the fraud he is – any boycott that I can participate in slamming prince I am totally for it!- which includes asking the radio stations to not support his new music, sending emails / letters to television shows like Ellen since Prince is a homohpobe why should she support him, picketing outside his concerts when he comes to tour, not buying and new music, etc..

Go right ahead and make a fool of yourself. I don't believe in homosexuality but I love them as a person. I have never told a gay joke. I work with and have sat down and ate with gay people. They have been at my house. I have family members who are gay. I still don't like what they are doing...That is my oppinion. Did you hear Prince (even in the mis-quotes) say anything negitive? He was sharing his beliefs and that was it. I have seen pictures of Prince and Ellen long after he became a JW and I am sure they are friends.

Question for you: If Prince said he doesn't like people who cheat on their spouses would you still slam Prince and protest? There are certain things in life that people accept and don't accept and that is thier life. As long as we treat everyone with respeact that is all that matters.

Much love...

[Edited 11/17/08 10:33am]

[color=red]Come on.... you know what I am talking about. I am ot going to get into a "are they born this way" type of discussion. I am talking about not agreeing with someones life style but still loving them and treating them with respect.

Plus, comparing homosexuality to cheating to some folks is the samething. It may not be to you but a sin is a sin... Bring up Clinton's name annd a lot of women say "he is a moral pig" ... ok well some folsk will say the same thing aobut Ellen...not me but I am just putting out there....

I remember at my college (years back) there was this girl protesting for "Pro choice" but see also had a "save the whales" button on.... is that the same as your "plus, comparing homosexuality to cheating is just..." comment?

Look I love everyone...I don't have anything bad to say about anyone...I love and respect everyone as long as they are doing the same...

Peace & Love

I totally agree with you on this. By far, you seem to be speaking with love in your heart. Some these other bloggers are trying to take what you're saying out of context. Stick to your guns. I'm with you on this. biggrin smile

you know even tho the bible may be in black and white, its full of color,.. colors some fail to appreciate..

below is a quote from a Jill Jones interview.. this is the person you are defending like you know him so well ..

and just because i choose not to support homophobes and extremist doens't mean im a fool.. your a hippocrite secretly judging people who you invite in your home to eat with- you must need them for something other than just being a true friend

before you try to get the speck out of the homo's eye you should try and get the speck out of yours.. or better yet let people be and enjoy them for who they are insteading of judging them becuase they are not you or what you want them to be.. and where is the respect in this interview, i don't know if i an more upset with Prince saying that the republicans want to live by the bible and the democrats want to do whatever or the gay quote..

we have a Christian president thats democrat, i guess Obama is just a front for the anti Christ? Prince is wacky and just becasue you believe something doesn't mean your right!!

from Jill Jones interview:

NEIL : Doesn't it really piss you off, that just about EVERYBODY has heard you sing at some point (the opening line of 1999, for God's sake!),but don't know who you are ?

JILL : Not really. My ego was never placed there. Nor shall it ever be.
NEIL : Are your vocals featured on 1999 - the New Master ?

JILL : No. I have not had any contact with Prince since 1992. I thought after my mother died in 1995 or even after my uncle died in 1997 (he was his hairdresser), he'd have sent condolences, but he never did. So I certainly was not going to expect to be invited to sing on his new master of 1999. (: :

PRIME is not judging anyone. Stop trying to analyze what PRIME is saying. Sometimes, it doesn't take a deep analysis to see what a person is saying. PRIME is being straight forward. Look at PRIME's response for what it is on the surface. AND, what does the Jill Jones interview have to do with this topic? You know, that interview probably had some things left out of it just to get someone to read it. Remember the incident between Prince and Mico Weaver? People were told only the part where he and Prince were about to fight. But, Mico, himself, said that Prince apologize later about the incident. I believe it was either that night or a few days afterward. But, anyway, those topics are other stories. Let's stick to the New Yorker topic, shall we?

U really gonna put that much energy into slammin Prince? SMDH
Prince and Manuela sat with Ellen and Portia at an event at one time and he was a JW at that time. So just cause one doesn't agree with the lifestyle doesn't make that person a homophobe.

You know what? This whole thing about fact is nothing more than "physical evidence". And, if you really think about it, "physical evidence" can be something that was tampered with, twisted, and made out to be true when it reallly isn't. I'm a writer as well as a musician. I can write a story so well and come up with so many logical ideas to where it can be deemed as true when, in fact, it's a lie or an opinion. Well, think about the fact that you're living and breathing. That should be enough proof right there. We're alive!!! GOD created us. Think about it. And, whatever scientic explanation you want to conjure up, just remember this: science is (at least physics and evolution) is supposed to provide logical explanations as to how we're all here. Think about this, someone or something had to start it all. Someone or something had to start the process. It had to start somewhere. Think about it. This is where faith provide all of the answers as opposed to the limited explanations that science has to offer. Now, shouldn't that provide you with the proof you need to realize that GOD exists and that He is the Creator of all (including science)? Think about it. Get real and GET SAVED!

Christianity does not hold a monopoly on the concept of a higher power, as much as many Christians would love to hold that copyright. Just because you have an unshakeable faith - which is great - doesn't mean that other people don't have their beliefs too, and hold them just as dear as you do yours. You want to have your belief in your god respected, well, people of other faiths (including their faith in no god at all) want to be respected too.

The way I see it people are going to have their opinion and beliefs not matter what, they can hide it, lie about, express it or not express it.

Their are many oponion and beliefs that I don't agree with but I am sure I have beliefs that other don't like either.
