The Bible didnt fall out of the sky! It wasn't found completely written. It is NOT the word of God.
So Prince get the panties back on your face and start playing killer guitar solos and stop wasting your time with all that nonsense. Enough with the "Old Friends For Sale" rehash every other year! WE HEARD THAT already! Start doing new things - different things and stop walking in place musically and with Larry Graham. Enough with the Carrot Soup and eat a burger. WOW do people get weird when they get older.

As IncredibleD posted in another thread:
Sorry, Perez - The New Yorker Stands By Its Prince Story By Eliot Van Buskirk November 18, 2008 | 12:09:12 PMCategories: People A recent New Yorker article paints a short, complicated picture of the artist currently known as Prince in which the star -- a noted practitioner of the Jehovah's Witness religion -- responds to questions about social issues. A PerezHilton source says the New Yorker misquoted Prince regarding gay marriage and other issues. The New Yorker maintains that its story is accurate. "You've got the Republicans, and basically they want to live according to [the Bible]," says Prince in the article. "But there's the problem of interpretation, and you've got some churches, some people, basically doing things and saying it comes from here, but it doesn't. And then on the opposite end of the spectrum you've got blue, you've got the Democrats, and they're, like, 'You can do whatever you want.' Gay marriage, whatever. But neither of them is right... "God came to earth and saw people sticking it wherever and doing it with whatever, and he just cleared it all out. He was, like, 'Enough.'" At the other end of the literary spectrum is PerezHilton. The publication claims an outraged source within Prince's camp accuses the New Yorker of misquoting Prince. The source also apparently claims that the New Yorker's reporter, Claire Hoffman, did not record the interview, which could make it hard to unravel what really happened. "Contrary to what a recent interview with the New Yorker is reporting, a source close to the rocker tells us that Prince was grossly misquoted and misinterpreted as not down with gay rightsm," reads a post on the site. "Apparently, the interviewer did not even use a recorder... What His Purpleness actually did was gesture to the Bible and said he follows what it teaches, referring mainly to the parts about loving everyone and refraining from judgment. 'We're very angry he was misquoted,' says our Prince insider." However, the New Yorker stands by its story, as a spokeswoman confirmed to Wired.com on Tuesday morning. It sounds like this Prince insider may have been doing some damage control for his client, whose views may come as a surprise to some of his fans. http://blog.wired.com/mus...z---n.html Damage control. There you have it, JayJai. I say he's afraid. JayJai said: gyro34 said: Perhaps, he's afraid to lose fans? Reality check: Prince u say?...perhaps afraid to lose fans??? in the words of another poster.....unless i see the interview and hear him say something HIMSELF, i'm not buying it. How many of us have had things we've said twisted around or even had words up in our mouths?
From his lips to my ear is the only way i'm buying any of this. That being said....it is odd that Prince or his camp hasn't officially released a statement saying his was misquoted. Or have they??? -Peace

You're not going to hear Prince, himself, come forward and say he was misquoted and that he's perfectly fine with the idea of gay marriage and homosexuality. Mainly, because he's a pussy and also because the gays have put a big chunk of change in his pockets over the years. Keeping the cash flowing is most important to him these days. Prince is a J.W. J.W.'s think homosexuality is WRONG because the Bible says it's WRONG. Some may not want to believe Prince feels this way but as a J.W. he HAS TO FEEL THIS WAY. You have to reconcile with yourself whether or not you want to support him even though he's a bigot. A cowardly bigot, I might add.

I tend to agree. Deeply flawed individuals are still capable of making extrodinary pieces of art. Look at Van Gogh...Picasso. Hell, even Michael Jackson and R. Kelly have made some terrific pieces of work. I guess it's just a matter of opinion whether or not you want to continue to support someone who may look at you or someone you know as less-than, in terms of holiness or goodness. Some may take deep personal offence and some may blow it off so as to just appreciate the art on its own, independent of its creator. I can understand either stance.

Big Chick got a memorial concert, whereas Boni... that is sad but...it kinda just tells me that Prince has a problem with death in general and that maybe he felt like he owed Chick something. I mean the dude had a drug problem which would explain his selling Prince gossip to the rags and gettin that cash. Wasn't there more personal stuff btwn Jill & Prince which is why he didn't contact her all those years? Im jus sayin I don't think all that misfortune and ill handling of death = Prince hates gays But what Bart is not mentioning is that Boni Boyer died about a month or so after Prince and Mayte's son in 1996. Maybe, just maybe he wasn't in the frame of mind to pull out the stops to pay tribute to a former band member after his own child died. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Again...unfortunately causes that are 'good' and people that represent 'good' don't typically get a lot of attention (at least not the positive kind) and when they do, it quickly fades. It's the negative issues that time and again get all the attention. Jesus was seen as a threat just like Martin Luther, Malcolm X, Gandhi and many other powerful positive leaders. And by the way...yes, look at what happened to Jesus....He was a martyr for all that is right and good. Whether anyone believes He is the be all and end all or not, everyone has to admit that He was the embodiment of love and wisdom. Thank God He came here to show us "the way". -Peace
