if you could also add travelling distance to each venue from
Kings X Euton Victoria Waterloo
that would be wonderful

Outside the EB last night there was a chap who had a colour coded speadsheet of about 20 venues showing bookings/spaces and also the address and postcode of every place. Talk about dedication!

Im thinking Hammersmith Apollo personally. Please DONT go and queue there, its just a guess based on the venues that are booked up and whats remaining (that could filled short notice)... And thats IF there is anything happening today. [Edited 2/14/14 1:32am] "U have just given birth 2 a 7 pound Bambi..." SBE 9Feb14

It does show a lack of respect, I would agree. All of my hang-ups have gone. How I wish you felt the same.

Moning! It was terrible really...I started to get ready when the first tweet came through at 1130 thinking she'd make a proper announcement in the next hour. Nothing. So, I got on my (cheap) train to London that I'd pre-booked - just in case - then...still nothing. And then nothing...for the rest of the day. No one told me to get on the train, I get it...I'm not angry...but really, it is a bit silly. She seems to be enjoying the attention a bit more than she understands the needs of the fans.

Well, at least today I don't have to worry about whether he plays or not as I can't go anyway. Last night would have been so handy with Mrs Gent already having a night out arranged and the baby sitters being able to stay later if I didn't go home after work. Oh well, at least I know how Twiter works now. #princearmy #princewatch #princeuktour RIP

Make sure to give Kiran a piece of your mind - she obvisouly reads everything about herself on Twitter... "U have just given birth 2 a 7 pound Bambi..." SBE 9Feb14

I tweeted her a few times yesterday just asking to please say yes, no, we're working on it, it fell through or anything really. After the initial tweet about £70 there was silence for hours, then she finally retweeted someone at about 6:45 ish and I thought aha, she'll surely say something about a Prince show now but nothing.
I really don't care about there not being a show but to tease the fan base like that is just unacceptable. Like I said, I was in the area, in the warm, so I was lucky but people travelled into London because of her tweet, it's bang out of order to not follow up on it. RIP

Haha. totes would but I'm not interested in getting into any twitter beef. She wants to be a celebrity manager and get lots of attention for her client(and herself.) Granted, she IS doing very well at that! Go, girl. There are enough people on twitter who are gagging to be noticed and stay on her 'right side' defending her to the hilt. A bitch hasn't got any time for that, LOL. What she isn't interested in, particularly, is fans seeing the artist...just the energy we can create for her campaign. Also, really, I think tweeting "who is willing to pay £70 for a show?" just looks cheap. Like, if you say it's $10 shows at the press conference, then suck it up and do and do that. Don't, afterwards, start saying "sory, don't think we can afford that actually, so I'm just checking if you will actually pay £70 now instead". It's Prince for fuck's sake...don't be begging for money.

It doesn't actually say that does it?
This is how it all starts and then you lot moan when nothing happens.

Not if today is the calm before the storm!!!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Or does that mean that today is the calm and tomorrow is the storm? I actually don't care, can't do today not sure about tomorrow. I am sure that I'm pissed off with the games and cryptic messages though. RIP

Aye, I think Kiran pissed off a few yesterday who travelled to london on the back of her last tweet, she would have known if they have any intension of doing a show last night or not so why tweet it, should have just said if the next show is £70 who would pay it

Yeah I was one of those queuing outside EB from about 5pm.....should I complain, no.....nobody promised there would be a show and at 8 we moved to the pub and tbh I ended up having a good night anyway with people I never met until yesterday. I do feel empathy for the chap from Scotland who came all the way down and the girl from Poland who flew over but again nothing was promised.
Now - do I think that the announcement was misleading - yeah probably. And tbh I am disappointed that she didnt send something even at 9/10pm to save us all hanging around the streets.
You can only pull that stunt so many times before you start to lose fans.
But still, I dont wanna complain. I had a good night. Fucking hell. I never even guessed that anyone would take her seriously enough to start waiting in line. Don't you know the guys at EB were on to Kiran to tell her that there was a queue of fans in the cold? Why not just tweet to go home and take care? Why not Kiran?? Silly cow. Will we find a video of it posted on Funkenberry in a couple days with some super groovy music to show how loyal the fans are??

Asking anyone would they pay is so low rent it's embarrassing.

Well, it could be either! But, yes, today IS calm, in this workshop at least, because I've actually got work to do that I didn't do yesterday, so can't get involved in any of the running around!

im the one who came from scotland. at least i'm in london for the next gig and had a laugh last night. meeting more fans today and hopefully get some rest and ready for gig saturday or more likely sunday i'd imagine and go home monday. if nothing sunday i'll maybe stay the monday and back tuesday
if the org goes down, use the dawn experience website in my link. i suggest signing up now so you have the details ready. its a UK based site and if the org goes up and down its a great alternative to the org and perfect for uk fans
if anyone hanging about london is looking for people to meet up or do something today/tomorrow/whatever then post here. we can maybe figure out a place to stand outside in the cold tonite as a practice run. i suggest finding a next store and fool people into thinking they are having a sale

This has gotten to be a very ill conceived joke. We are PR fodder, nothing else. Did you see the Chaos and Disorder 3EG video? The one that proudly shows the lines of fans waiting in the cold outside Shepards Bush Empire? It's embarrassing. Cheap. I noticed a new # yesterday on twitter. #purplearmy now has an alternative.. #tiredarmy.. "My God it's full of Stars"

Exactly, They should tell people what they are paying not have people dictate, if people dont want to go then they wont, people who want to see a genius at work will have no issue paying that and more.
All they need to do is put out a proper statement saying they had agreed to do the first shows at £10 in smaller venues due to demand they are having to use larger venues at increased costs the vast majority wont have a problem with it if they get soem notice
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I agere. I have no problem paying £70 to see Prince, he's worth it of course. However, I wouldn't want to queue for 6/7 hours with no guarantee - if they're going to charge £70, there needs to be some notice. No problem queueing for a £10 gig, but higher price needs organising really.
Hoping for a gig tonight, as I go away on holiday tomorrow (it's a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Maldives, so no chance of cancelling LOL). I couldn't make the previous 2 unfortunately and thought there would be something this week, so here's hoping for tonight. ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

I agree totally about yesterday. The disrespect for the fans was completely out of order. We had already travelled down to London on spec yesterday morning. We knew we were taking a chance but that was our choice. What I hadn't bargained for was the silly game played by Kiran. We fans are giving up our time, taking time off work and paying out for hotels & travel. We respect Prince's talent and are prepared to put ourselves out. We deserve some respect in return. We were booked on the 12.30 train back up north today leaving time for poss announcement this morning so could have stayed. But after yesterday's farce we have taken the 10.30am. Yes Prince is a genius but I am not prepared to let him and his team treat me like this. We all deserve some respect.

I think I need an intervention...I have Radio 1xtra on and Trevor Nelson read out a message from someone called Kiran in PR saying that they used to listen to 6music, but have now switched over to 1xtra. Completely meaningless! I am seeing too many 'signs'.
Good luck people Hope this is all worth the aniticipation. If Sunday is anything to go by, I am sure that it will be!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
That's it...most people would happily pay £70 to see Prince. I have paid over that and I'm sure other people on here have paid more still...give me a ticket, and I'll STILL queue for hours to get to the front, again, like SO many others. You still get your queues for your videos. You still your hype for the papers. AND, the fans get to see the show. Also, with even a day's notice each time, they'd be filling up venues all over town!
