im the one who came from scotland. at least i'm in london for the next gig and had a laugh last night. meeting more fans today and hopefully get some rest and ready for gig saturday or more likely sunday i'd imagine and go home monday. if nothing sunday i'll maybe stay the monday and back tuesday

if the org goes down, use the dawn experience website in my link. i suggest signing up now so you have the details ready. its a UK based site and if the org goes up and down its a great alternative to the org and perfect for uk fans

if anyone hanging about london is looking for people to meet up or do something today/tomorrow/whatever then post here. we can maybe figure out a place to stand outside in the cold tonite as a practice run. i suggest finding a next store and fool people into thinking they are having a sale

Or even better, we should queue outside an Apple store. The geeks will be pissed not knowing what's coming out.

I'm hot and I don't care who knows it...I got a job to do. cooked

Well, I'm away for the next two nights, could maybe train it down on Sunday afternoon if there's a sniff. Typically he'll probably play the appollo for the next two nights. Best show I ever saw was there in 2002. Good luck over the weekend and hopefully see some of you Sunday/Next week!

I agree totally about yesterday. The disrespect for the fans was completely out of order. We had already travelled down to London on spec yesterday morning. We knew we were taking a chance but that was our choice. What I hadn't bargained for was the silly game played by Kiran. We fans are giving up our time, taking time off work and paying out for hotels & travel. We respect Prince's talent and are prepared to put ourselves out. We deserve some respect in return. We were booked on the 12.30 train back up north today leaving time for poss announcement this morning so could have stayed. But after yesterday's farce we have taken the 10.30am. Yes Prince is a genius but I am not prepared to let him and his team treat me like this. We all deserve some respect.

Well said.

the tweet yesterday was completely irresponsible with no follow up. Yes it was a bit risky for people to travel without confirmation but it did seem like enough of a hint to make plans. All people were asking for was something more later on. Clare is right, it's completely disrepectful.

And actually, this amazing gig of the century from the other night... I've watched all the clips I could get. I don't think his heart was in it. I think the set list was perfect, and technically it was great... But you know what, I think it looked like play by numbers compared to his more emotional nights. It's like he was setting up the standard to hike up the demand and possibly price., seemed quite cold.
I've seen him channel Jimi before... From what I could see he didn't on Sunday.

Don't think this is about Prince owing people. His representation gave people on Twitter good reason to believe that something could happen yesterday but chose not to deny it later when folk were clearly spending money and effort to travel in. That is manipulation.

You missed my point. As I said I travelled down on spec knowing there was a good chance there would be no gig. We had a really good night in Ronnie Scott's. What I am objecting to is the way Kiran was playing with everyone yesterday.

The clips don't tell the story then. It was certainly not by the numbers. I haven't seen him so happy and into what he is doing since 2002.

I disagree on this one.

There's a line in the sand, and yesterday's Tweet crossed it I think.

Prince / Prince's management owe no-one anything if people travel when nothing has been announced or even mentioned.

But with these gigs, and announcements at the last minute, possibly all done with a nudge and a wink suggesting a show, they really shouldn't be putting out Tweets like that.

Its difficult enough to know when there might be a show, but there's really no need to make it any more difficult with stuff like yesterday's Tweet.

That's my 2 cents.

dayzofwyld.......Kiran, with her tweet, wether indirectly or not encouraged people to believe he would be playing last night, they was no other way to take it, knowing how loyal and deperate some are to see him that was a totaly iresponcible tweet if he wasnt playing. I have total sympathy for everyone who make an effort.

I do think yesterday's tweet was a bit off: it's specific enough for people to travel on IMO, and it's disappointing that nothing happened.

I think the ticket price issue isn't really about being mean / making money. I suspect they're just juggling ways to manage demand, and weighing that against fan reaction. They have the same problem with warning people in advance who need to travel, that just increases the length of time people have to queue in the cold and rain.

It is quite a tricky problem when you have an act that can fill arenas for weeks and you want to perform a hit and run of smaller shows in a somewhat off the cuff fashion. I don't envy the management, really, must be quite a juggling act.

Indeed. And, someone who is trying to comment on a show they didn't even attend is pointless. Of all the blu-rays and such I have of concerts, as good as some of them are (and always better than an internet clip!), absolutely none of them properley convey what is was like actually being there!

Just came across this vid of P playing 'Chaos & Disorder' at SBE on Sunday night. I had a limited view over by the bar, so had no idea at the time he handed his guitar to the front row...

(Apologies if it's been posted/discussed previously, I've not seen it before.)

For someone who is not twitter savvy (no smart phone) what is the latest- anything looking hopeful yet? Where do y'all 'hear it first'?Cheers,C I'd say here is the best place to find out about shows. There's a great network of fans here that share all the news very quickly. And as for not being able to queue, for the second Electric Ballroom show and the Shep Bush show, you could have turned up quite late and still got in....so worth chancing it if you're in London anyway. Thanks Dave. You guys are doing a great job of mining information from venues and processing the various rumours- a full time job in itself! See you at the front...

But in this situation, she shouldn't Tweet anything until something is definite.

I'd agree completely if we were talking about people traveling on the off chance.

But a highly suggestive Tweet from an official source? Crossed the line.

YOU ARE WRONG - SERIOUSLY! The very nature of a "Hit n Run" tour is that it is announced at short notice. When the manager of the artist tweets, and I quote:

Hello ... out of interest... who is willing to pay £70 for a show tonight?

Then if that is not taken as a heavy hint to get travelling and ready for a gig I don't know what is. Problem is nothing came after. I have no problem if she has come back within an hour or two and said "sorry guys we tried to sort out a venue but couldn't" but to have complete radio silence and not even acknowledge that this was a cock up is simply rude and disrespectful to the fans who are the people that pay her bloody wages (by paying for Prince's stuff).

It IS the responsibility of the manager of an artist to have the fans interest in mind too. A good manager knows that it is the fans who are ultimately the most important thing because without them the artist may as well retreat to their garage and play music to themselves.

As I said, I accept (even if I do not like and would personally prefer to buy an advanced ticket) the concept of "Hit n Run" - but handle it in such a way as to also look after the interests of the fans. Do not confuse hype with fun!!!!!

Again, she asked who was willing to pay £70 for a gig that night. Why be so specific if there was no intention of a gig happening? She had every opportunity to tweet back and say nothing was going to happen but chose not to - likely because she's loving the hype.

There are more important things in life, thats true, but if you do want to see P live, it really shouldn't be this difficult should it?

Just over a week ago he played a tiny gig with virtually no official confirmation it would happen. On Sunday, he played a gig where the price was supposed to be £70 but upon entry was only £10. They are promoting the idea of a "guerilla" tour. The hint or whatever it was was bound to have the effect of having people travel to get there before any cvenue queue was oversubscribed

Of course its her problem people hang on every word and she should have clarified the tweet out of common deceny in my opinion. People are whining with very good cause in this instance

I was there - certainly wouldn't say it was cold...!!! But the real feel of it doesn't come across in the clips - it's a nice reminder for those of us lucky enough to have been there at the time but a clip doesn't convey even a tiny percent of how truly great it really was.
