I don't find the comments on Eric Leeds that mean.

So he said Clarence was better -- as he said he's outclassed on the bass by that British lady whose name I forget. Maybe even Eric agrees Clarence is better -- doesn't make him a worthless musician.

I think this was a great interview and I enjoyed seeing Prince being honest, candidly answer and share his thoughts on several things... Now when I hear people say Prince lives in Prince world as being a bad thing I can't help asking what life would you like him to live besides his OWN???

What does it matter about a coat? Prince has 1000's of coats. It's about money. In fact the whole interview, in subtext was just Prince worrying that he didn't get every dollar available or that someone else may get something and he didn't get a cut. In a perfect world he could hire someone to exploit the catalog for him, but I think he rather enjoys acting like a bigshot putting people on the spot over every little thing remotely assoicated with the thing. In truth, I've seen this type of bullshit before. Prince is a ghetto-azz business manager, feeling his oats over his DELUXE APARTMENT IN THE SKY-YYY. MOVIN ON UP!

So Prince has 1000 coats why should he worry about the single coat a supposed friend stole and sold for profit? I'm guessing that seems strange to people but maybe you're right, Prince only cares about if he Dickerson called him up and said hey brother I stole your purple rain trench coat and I'm gonna sell it for 10k, I'm gonna give you a piece of the pie. I am sure that would have made it all right with Prince. It's not like he stewed about this in the media before or something. Yeah I guess it's ok that just because Prince is rich that those less well off should be able to pimp shit off him and eat too. There really isn't anything wrong with that right? Candid questions and even more candid answers. Did the journalist get him drunk to speak so much and dish some dirt. A lot of veiled digs at the likes of Eric, Dr Fink, No Doubt, The Time etc. He seems a bit bitter and doesn't want to give anyone credit.
