Given the initial reception to Civil War I assume lots of people must be cringing at WB and DC. BvS is still a success in terms of money but how many critical failures can the DCEU take before crowds refuse to give DC movies the benefit of doubt? I think the commercial AND critical reception of Suicide Squad will say whether the DCEU lives or dies. |

I wouldn't go that far. BvS made money, but lost in the court of public opinion, and they can't really dump Snyder at this point. SS is being billed as far more entertaining, with much more Bats than shown in the trailers.
Still, WB has to see potential in the DCEU, because the main issue is execution. I expect WB to get more hands-on with Snyder -- whose big comic adaptations have all been uneven -- and rehabilitate DCEU with Justice League.

The problem I think with critical failure is that if u get to many of them crowds won't go anymore then no money. I think people will give SS a chance because the rpemise if different from other superhero movies and the trailers have benn very well received. But it it gets only bad critics I think it'll be hard to sell WW to people :/ |
