Ideally we ALL want to fuck without condoms. I get that. However...

My partner has been blissfully fuckin the shit out of me (with condoms) for 12 years and remains neg.

I got "the news" (poz, not herpes) only a few months into our relationship.

I know it's a very personal choice, but I don't understand how folk will not take a chance on a protected relationship with someone they know to be positive (of whatever) but will then turn around and take the BIGGEST chance by going unprotected because it's a "committed" relationship.

Seriously? And he doesn't make you ring a bell and shout, "Unclean! Unclean!" as you walk down the street? eek

SHit!!! Is THAT what that bell is for????

It shouldn't. Cheer up.
It should just make you work around things. There's lots of hotness to be had.

Most anything REAL will make you go wilted if you let it. wink

I don't know about herpes? I'm not sure if herpes is affliated with any type of cancers is it?

I was talking to a doctor about the HPV vaccine, and did you all know that 80% of sexually active people have been exposed to the HPV virus? And in fact, the strains affliated with cervical cancer cause no symptoms? Apparently, once exposed the virus can lie dormant for decades, but become active when one's immune system is down or something? eek I might be wrong, but that's what I think I understood?

I also recall that the HPV strains not causing cervical cancer are the ones that produce warts? confused

I just think it pays to be careful.

Bliss is fucking the living shit out of somebody... I mean a good, hard, long pounding without a condom.

I mean, I'm romantic that way.

I thought long and hard about my answer on this thread specifically because of you. hug

I am celibate and have been for 2 years now. I have an unhealthy outlook when it comes to relationships right now. I don't believe in committed relationships, not because I am afraid to contract something but because I don't believe people in general are faithful.

Nov. 5, 2002 -- Genital herpes increases the risk of cervical cancer -- which kills thousands of women every year -- by acting as an "accomplice" to another common virus that commonly causes this cancer.

Herpes simplex virus-2, the cause of genital herpes, was detected in nearly half of women with invasive cervical cancer -- nearly twice as often as in women without signs of cancer, researches report in a study published in the Nov. 6 issue of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.

While I appreciate that, you should know that you should never have to "think" about what you say around me. I'm a big boy. wink
But I know your consideration comes from love so hug.

And I don't much disagree with your outlook on faithfulness. There are way too many degrees, angles and variables on the word alone.

I like to think I'm an open minded person but until they invent biker short condoms, I'm gonna pass. hmph!

My best friend and I used to read the personals for shits and giggles. We were looking at the Men Seeking Women part of it. One dude was like "SWM, looking for SWF, athletic, non smoking. I'm kind hearted and looking for someone to spend the rest of my life with. HERPES," We were both like omg. And we both decided that people with herpes have to date too.

Forgive my ignorance, but does herpes get spread to the child during birth?

It can be a risk during vaginal delivery. Many babies born to women with the virus are delivered by caesarian.

In the case of the couple I know, I think the doctors were confident the risk of transmission was low. Their baby was delivered vaginally.
