sorry for coming in so late but is anyone really surprised by jay Z's shifty? check this:

http://washington.cbslocal.com/2012/09/19/jay-zs-past-includes-being-crack-dealer-stabbing-record-producer/

.

Obama calls Beyonce a role model for his daughters? eek

.

JayZ and Beyonce were supporters of Obama campaign. eek

.

JayZ: Before making it big, Jay-Z was a crack dealer in Brooklyn at the age of 13. During an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2009, he called drug dealers in Brooklyn his “role models” growing up.

.

He also has a history of violence. When he was 12, he shot his 16-year-old brother and he stabbed a record producer in December 1999. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to probation for the assault. Jay was even shot three times while growing up.

.

...........And, to think that Prince trusted JayZ. eek

What is all this about guys? The dude came from absolute poverty, of course he was dealing drugs, of course he's completely messed up by it. I'll complain about JayZ for turning into a shitty businessman like the very people who set up the system he was born into but i'm not gonna complain about him doing whatever he had to do to survive as a kid. Where the is your compassion?

i'm starting to wonder if the people on this site are robots or just live under rocks or just don't know shit about afro-american culture. 1, it's common knowledge where and what jay z came from and who and what he used to be/do. most rappers start out as that and come from that. 2, what does any of this have to do with Tidal and Prince? absolutely nothing. Prince liked, trusted and respected Hov up until his death so i don't understand the constant bitching and moaning when it comes to Tidal and Jay Z. You don't know him or what kind of person he is. it's pretty annoying and disgusting. Hell, most dont even know Prince and yet everybody seems to know what he thought, why and how. that's just weird as shit.

what do "deep contacts" have to do with any of this? what the hell does that mean? u don't need deep contacts to administor prince's estate and music, u need competant ones! there is nothing to suggest that van jones is competant in this area.

--- Van is an attorney who worked for Prince for 5 years recently. The truth of the matter is Londell has not done a good job.

i also read somewhere that the family wanted trev guy to stay on and handle the catalog as he was running NPG and all P's deal at the time of death

I did not see anything filed at Court by Tyka endorsing either Londell or Van.

Norrine, Sharon, and John want Londell and filed a Petition with the Court asking that Londell be appointed along with Comerica. That is when Londell filed his Notice of Acceptance.

Tyka filed a petition with the Court asking them to appoint Fiduciary Trust but indicated she would accept Comerica. Tyka did not request a co-Representative.

Omarr filed a petition asking the Court to appoint Comerica along with Londell.

The Family is divided as to who should be appointed as a co-Representative.

Thanks so much for the clarification islijag! There are people on both Twitter and FaceBook also saying that it's a lock for Van Jones even though I couldn't see anything on the court site saying Tyka has submitted a proposal for who she wants as co-rep. Putting rumors out there but only because they don't know how to read the docs lol That's why you get paid the big bucks, right? nod hug

My understanding is that Omarr wants Van Jones as co-rep, not Londell...he has concerns about Londell. I'm thinking that since there was a lot of info/names in this post that islijag mistakenly entered the wrong name in that spot. Please see #15 and #16 in this court document: http://www.mncourts.gov/m...cation.pdf

I'm sorry, I just don't buy into that bullshit. I grew up in poverty. My Mother was on welfare. My father was a deadbeat, but I wasn't out on the streets selling drugs and/or prostituting myself and neither did Prince, for that matter! He had smarts and talent to get ahead in life!!

.

I got up every morning and went to school, like every child in America should be doing. I just don't think these former drug dealers turned rap stars should be a role model for our children. Just look how JayZ acts out in public. He acts like a thug! Sorry if I offend anyone, but this is my opinion.

He was 19 back in ’88, but by Jay’s own admission began dealing around the age of 14 after his father, Adness Reeves, turned to drugs and left the family.

It is NOT a done deal until the court rules on Sharon/John/Norine's proposal of Londell McMillan vs Omarr Baker's proposal of Van Jones in January. Also...we have not heard who Tyka wants yet, she has not said who she wants for the co-rep, so there's still one more piece we are missing.

I usually don't say shit and agree with you but you're WRONG and way off base. Jay-Z does not act like a thug in public and if he did he would've beat Solanges ass in that elevator instead of letting her go off. The man is almost 50 and honestly most of the time that he's out he is out with his family. Take it from somebody that actually follows black blogs and media and not the Jay hating bubble that is the Org.

I just went through 7 pages of google news about this man, not one thuggish action in sight.

What is Circus Solia? Do you mean Cirque du Soleil? OMG have you seen what they have done with Beatles and Michael Jackson songs? I think a Prince show would blow your mind ... Put it in Vegas and watch the money roll in ...

I agree, that would be awesome to have a Prince show of Cirque du Soleil.

.

Please tell me you're not serious. A Cirque du Soleil show? eek

Where the is your compassion?

you know i gotta own what i said above. i guess i did leap to conclusions about JayZ and i've never met him personally so i'm sorry i said that. i leaped on the kanye west "know you got killaz' and just took it for fact. i apologize for jumping to conclusions.

Putting rumors out there but only because they don't know how to read the docs lol That's why you get paid the big bucks, right? nod hug

ooops...I made a mistake above. Omarr doesnt want Londell. He wants Van.

Can we please get back on topic so this thread doesn't get submitted for moderation? The convo about JayZ should be happening in the Roc Nation thread (since there is one and it involves him). Thank you, much appreciated.

Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end nod
