I would expect the judge to name the heirs within the next year.

I don't expect the estate to be closed anytime soon I expect that issues surrounding his estate will be frequent over the next several years. There is always the possibility of the heirs (which appears to be the 6 siblings) having disagreements over what to do with the estate's assets. Even if there are no disagreements or only minor disagreements, there are still many issues to address, such as what material to release from the vault, monetizing the estate, his memoir, and so forth.

Determining whom/what the Successor Special Administrator will be is one of the most important, if not the most important, issue that Judge Eide will have to determine in the coming months.

I originally heard there was a meeting among the siblings, and Tyka was on one side and the others were essentially across the table from her. It has not been a harmonious undertaking since April 21, and it won't be for many years to come. It is all about the money, with the idea of equal shares not exactly making everyone happy.

The dynamics of the siblings is interesting, to say the least. I wonder how the age differences among the siblings will contributes to the issues involving P's estate. For example, there is a 20-year age difference between Sharon and Tyka, and a 30-year age difference between Sharon and Omarr. (Source: http://www.billboard.com/...-fortune). My guess is that age may play a role in the priorities of the siblings. For example, perhaps older siblings may be more interested in the money while the younger siblings may be more interested in preserving Prince's legacy.

Another dynamic arises regarding where the siblings live. Omarr, Tyka, and Norrine live in the Minneapolis area. John L. Nelson Jr. and Alfred Jackson live in Kansas City, MO.

Tyka and Omarr appear to be the most "involved" with matters regarding the estate. They both live in the Minneapolis area, are the 2 youngest siblings, and both live in houses that Prince owned/paid for. A lot of Omarr's involvement seems to relate to his residence.

Due to having her own music career, my take is that Tyka has the best knowledge of the entertainment industry of all of the siblings. She also appears to have the clearest idea of what Prince's wishes were regarding his legacy. It will be interesting to see what her position is and and what kind of involvement she has regarding material in the vault, and how to go about releasing that material.
