It's like Prince is coming full circle with WB. He's coming back with the huge fro which I hope he perms out with the release of the Prince Album. It'd be real cool if he recreated all his hair style for each re-release.

He still doesn't. Like I've said before, we shoudl have been on the THIRD round of remasters by now. Also, this could easily go horribly wrong. Like plenty of others already said: I believe this when I hold actual product in my hand.

This thing right here is what I said Prince should have done with his last WB contract negotiations: agree to deluxe editions with outtakes and remasters and live recordings in exchange to get control of his masters in X amount of time. That way us fans would have gotten something good and if P then inevitably decided to screw up his back catalogue when he had full control (and he would, just look at how he treated the records he released independently), at least we would still have (hopefully decent) remasters/special editions.

Your point is well taken. But I think we now have to give Prince a little credit for being smart and having some sort of plan to ultimately get what he wanted. Tell me this deal at least brings a smile to your face? Or are you really the villian that Prince.org might not need, but deserves?

Does this mean we will be seeing albums like the Love Symbol album, the Gold Experience and Chaos and Disorder available on things like Itunes and Rhapsody?

I just hope that Prince doesn't fuck with his children. Remasters would be great, but re-loaded versions would be a pain in the butt. AND NO CENSORSHIP!!! If this is well executed, he'll get my money for sure, but I'm afraid that he will fuck this up.

This is actually some pretty damn great news!!!! I just hope Prince doesn't do any editing on the re-masters. I want all of the original music uncensored.

That deal oughta been made in 1999, not in 2014.

Sony: New Prince material.

WB: 1978-1996 material.

Of course 1996-2012 material is still in the hands of GOD (i.e. OOP).

What about all the associated protege albums? Are they going to be remastered as well? If that's the case, then Prince might earn som BIG MONEY. He should take one step at the time though.

Reissues / remasters are most welcome. I'm just sort of baffled that he wants his new material released on WB too. Maybe the people holding the strings at WB have changed so thoroughly that there's no one left there that he hates personally.

I'm counting on him including some inexplainable bonus tracks on the PR reissue instead of the more obvious B-Sides or outtakes everyone wants to hear in good sound quality. Like excluding "Erotic City" and "Electric Intercourse" and including a live version of "Delirious" (from a different tour, obviously), or something like that.

Exactly. If he's given the right to chose the material, we might end up with cuts chosen on the basis of what shoes he was wearing during recording rather than of historical or musical significance.
