Did LA Reid think that skipper would play second fiddle to a dead guy in regards to promotion.. I am dying to hear the truth on how that went south soooo quickly and we ended up here..

I gotta admit, i miss the music but even more i am excited that for the first time in damn dear 20 years we are going to get real artwork on an album/cd etc ..not soem bullshit

Here's what I'd like to see:

Prince's new album released in May along with 3rd Eye Girl's PlectrumElectrum.

June: Purple Rain 30th Anniversary remaster with all the bells and whistles we're looking for

December: For You remaster and every other remaster every 6 months later. That would give us time to enjoy each album with bonus material and time for Prince to stay hot. Put the remasters out quick while people have a strong interest.

Also put each protege remaster album out along with each Prince remaster of the time.

I just hope both sides abide by the contract they signed. I hope Prince delivers the goods and I hope WB doesn't backstab.

I wouldn't worry. Like a previous poster stated, I think Prince realises that these songs are part of history now, and I can't imagine Prince attempting to edit history or act like something never happened when it did, right?

We also know Prince is crazy but I honestly don't think he's that insane. There's no way in hell he's going to change the lyrics.

these are not re-recordings. but re-masters. But the digital scares me! it needs to be proper remastering.

"Digital remaster" means it's mastered digitally from the analog master tapes. I seriously doubt he'd want them to remaster and then have them only put it out digitally to MP3 (which is how most listeners will listen, aside from audiophiles) which, unless it's lossless (and there's even some debate about that), actually deteriorates the sound.

To date, the only official information regarding Reid relates to the 'New Girl' single.

There's no way in hell he's gonna change the lyrics! I don't think Warner would have agreed to a deal if he insisted on lyrical changes in line with his current beliefs. It would be an absolutely pointless release if he does
