Prince is not F_cked. He's got alot of money in da bank.
I would imagine the judge who tried the case does too. Thanks to the concert promoters. Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

What the purple hell? Really... where did all that money go? Did he give it all to his church or something? He's not a drug addict as far as we know..
I mean what else on earth would make him have financial issues? We know from watching him do it that Michael jackson had spending issues.. blowing like a million in 30 seconds shopping. But I never thought Prince was that extreme in his spending. And all those O2 gigs.. all those memberships.. whatever Target payed him for exclusivity on the last cd.. I wanna be in the know if he has a Paisley Park garage Sale! I think somone's just being stubborn here. Is he gonna say "My religion says that contracts are man-made are fallible, therefore I don't owe you anything.." Something along those lines maybe? Who knows.. [Edited 3/26/10 13:10pm]

By the time you have paid for the promoters, Princes diva ways, and then the good old tax man, two thirds have gone. Then add everyday lifestyles like 100k a month pad rents, and running a multi million dollar studio for a Private whim and it dries up pretty fast. Yep, I used 30% - 33% for Prince's take on tours - BEFORE taxes.

Prince is the subject of a public shaming in Ireland -- after a judge decided to release information about the singer's recent court battle because the Purple One isn't paying the piper. High Court Justice Peter Kelly just announced that Prince owes nearly $3 million in damages to concert promoters for bailing on a 2008 show in Dublin at the last minute. According to Kelly, the two parties reached a settlement back in February -- but Prince hasn't paid the promoters a dime. In a related note -- during the case, an agent who worked with Prince told the court that the singer is a royal pain in the ass to work with ... and when the agent informed Prince of the Irish problem, Prince said, "Tell the cat to chill. We will work something out." hopefully the press will pick up on the charging for a closed site too-he deserves an ass kicking [Edited 3/26/10 6:40am] Let's Please leave tmZ outta this. Seriously though, Prince what are you doing man? I'll tell you what a MUNI Bus driver told me here in San Francisco when I was a kid sneaking onto the bus without paying:
"PAY YO FARE! PAY YO FARE SON!!! EVERYONE ELSE ON HERE PAID, SO COME UP HERE AND PAY YO FARE!! THE BUS AIN'T MOVIN' UNTIL YOU PAY YO FARE!" Words to live by So Prince...PAY YO FARE!!! I'm not sure why anyone is surprised, this is the guy that made some serious cash in the 80's and was skint by 89 and again in 95.
When you have lived in a purple bubble all your life you get what you want when you want it, at any cost to you and people working for you, because of course your Prince, obvously being oblivious to reality helps when it comes to this. For someone who claims to live by God's words he sure knows how to take the piss outa that, this article always reminds me of what a twit he is when it comes to anything business related. http://princetext.tripod...._1995.html Worth reading.

It's a curse, I tell you! And it all started with 'Purple and Gold'! Don't believe me? Think about it...
Releases 'Purple and Gold' = Vikings lost... = Irish court goes after him... = Cause & Effect = half a good song, kind of... = Youtube baby wins... = Perfume company green lighted to sue him... (wonder how much that'll cost) = Owes unpaid taxes = Busted website charges for Year 2 - Gets attention of fans and banks... = Irish court says pay up... And it's only March! I seriously hope the rest of the year turns out better for him though! Really!

They paid Prince 3 mil and he has to pay 2.95. Unless looks like he is just going to give back money - should really impact his books so the people talking about bankruptcy are truly showing their lack of fiscal acumen.

I'm thinking he personally grossed $50 million before taxes. Unbelievable. Of course, I'm assuming he doesn't have the $2.95 million or he would have already paid it. The case seemed pretty damn open and shut to me. No way an artist lets a promoter put tickets on sale - or doesn't stop the sale once he learns about them - without there having been some sort of deal or at least a preliminary agreement. $50 would leave him with what? $12 to $15 Million after tax? *paying tax in the UK and US adds up But based on the case Carver County has against him he doesn't like to pay his taxes either. Maybe he will just do 2 or 3 shows for the guy and call it a weekend?
Same with the money owed to Carver County play a show pay his bills. He has plenty of ways to earn a few million in a few days. AS far as how much he has, he has been know to spend money foolishly for decades. I read about the lovesexy tour and how much that cost them, "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

Prince has always had a problem paying his bills. even ones as low as $900 or $4000. he's always settled with his debtors for lesser amounts. its strange.

Maybe because Ireland is part of the European community and a fine like that in any of the individual states is very likely to become collectable in ALL other states, thereby effectivelu eliminating Prince's ability te earn ANY money from concerts in the EC. That's quite a big,and wealthy!, part of his fanbase....

Daaaayum... trying to put myself in his little shoes, I'm sure he didn't think they'd slap a 3 mil fine on him. OUCh. Spilt milk, homie, but I'm happy to contribute $80 or so for front row at more than one show Just tell me when, bruh, I'm there. Right on. Solid.. ********************************************

i find it very strange, to say the least, that Prince would allow this much of his personal business to get out like this, particularly when he is such a private person. I rather not know this information about him.

I really dont understand WHY people think Prince is swimming in money. Look at it this way. People live a certain lifestyle based on how much money they make. If you make $100,000 a year you will live that kind of lifestyle. You will save a little, you will spend alot. Thats the way it is. Prince is living a multi-million dollar a year lifestyle, and has lived that lifestyle for years, even when he wasnt making that kind of money. For every Musicology and 02 tour there were years when he made next to nothing except royalties. Who knows how many bills he had that he had to use money from those tours to pay. Private parties, house rentals, movies and music that he records that never make a profit, taxes, a studio that no one uses but has to be upkept, private planes, courtside NBA tickets, personal chefs and groundsmen, custom clothes and jewelery, managers, lawyers, bodyguards, etc etc etc ALL cost money, money that goes FAST whether you are rich or poor. Rich people stay rich because their income exceeds their spending. Do you really think Prince's does? All I can say is MJ had more money than Prince and even he was damn near broke. [Edited 3/26/10 19:15pm] Of course he has a multi-million dollar income!! Have you not been keeping up? How do you know MJ had more than Prince? I would doubt it to be true anyway. Last time I heard, Prince's publishing alone was worth $140million and that was about 10 years ago. Around $80million earned from Musicology. Almost $5million just to play one concert (Coachella). And we haven't even started on royalties - where the hell are you pulling this Prince doesn't have a multi-million dollar income shit from?! ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...
