Well, if he comes up with a "Gold Experience pt. II" maybe it won't be so bad. lol

Unfortunately, it will be "Purple and Gold: The New Master" at this rate.

I'm amazed how people think he is swimming in money. He spends so much he has flirted with bankruptcy several times before.

Problem now is, he got no sales to bail him out.

Do you think he'll get a purple cell?

Mr Big will make daddy pop!

How in the hell could he have spent all the money he made from the Musicology and 21 Nights tours?

I'm thinking he personally grossed $50 million before taxes.

Unbelievable. Of course, I'm assuming he doesn't have the $2.95 million or he would have already paid it. The case seemed pretty damn open and shut to me. No way an artist lets a promoter put tickets on sale - or doesn't stop the sale once he learns about them - without there having been some sort of deal or at least a preliminary agreement.

yeahthat You would think he made a shit load of money off those gigs.

I was thinking the same thing. Of course its possible to blow $50million in five years on lavish homes, cars, trips, and bullshit you just simply don't need. lol What the hell is Prince spending his money on, I wonder?

I wonder if he actually has the money but just isn't paying it based on principle or something like that. I know it's far fetched, but this is Prince we're talking about. lol

When the figures of these tours are released, you have to realize they are gross income.

By the time you have paid for the promoters, Princes diva ways, and then the good old tax man, two thirds have gone.

Then add everyday lifestyles like 100k a month pad rents, and running a multi million dollar studio for a Private whim and it dries up pretty fast.

Yeah, I guess you're right.

Wasn't meant in a nasty way though, just pointing out that there is a chance that's where some of his money may have gone.

Here's a thought, I've been reading a lot about him owning tons of property. It's been mentioned a few times recently. Maybe he sunk a lot into that and due to the global recession, it's fucked his finances up royally? confused

on celeb BB recently-Vinnie Jones said it costs him about $7000 a week befiore he does anything-on gardeners-staff etc-and he just has the 1 house he owns.....

imagine how much P's lifestyle costs him-he has alot more than 1 house and a couple of staff/employees.....

probably times that $7000 by 10.....especially the crazy rents he pays

That's just it, people can't assume the man is broke, based on the recent reports of the current lawsuits, and a recent report from a newspaper source of him owing back taxes, although it can be very easy to assume that.. Just something he has to deal with, and I'm sure he isn't the only celebrity that's been sued or late with paying taxes. shrug

i remember being shocked at the amount. but it appeared
in several interviews, or other news outlets.

last we heard about it was that he never even bothered
to reclaim his 270.000 deposit on the place.

he's just careless about money. not just paying late
but also not taking back what's his rightfully.

well, except when it comes to the fans lol

oops, i was off on the amount. it was 'only' 200,000 a month biggrin

for pics, see this thread:

http://prince.org/msg/7/302490

i must have mixed it up with the deposit he didn't reclaim,
which was 270.000 dollars.

the 3121 house costed him roughly the same each month iirc.

Didn't Universal pay for the 3121 house? I was thinking they did.

he changed a lot of things in the 3121 house. i think he
was even sued over it, or didn't get his deposit back or
something.

there were several news blurbs on it. he'd painted walls
purple and knocked a bedroom wall through to create space
for his own personal salon.

falloff

he also painted the symbol on many walls, in and outside.

the owner was not pleased, at all.

hmmm that could be possible. but i don't think they would just
pay prince's rent for over a year without wanting anything in
return from him. perhaps a bit of recoup or something?

and what about all those "3121" parties, those must have set him
back a bit.

remember all those reports about those parties and the people he
got to attend, like stevie wonder and joni mitchell.

omfg to have been a fly on the wall at those. drool

i don't like it. it lookes like something out of disney land.

the 3121 home was much nicer. it had more of a personal vibe
and homely feel to it.

having said that, i don't think i can knock any of those cribs
since my entire home would fit in that beverly place kitchen.

on the other hand, my rent is 5000 times less than prince's.

Unless Prince pays up, this is bad news for everyone in Europe by the way, as the Irish court ruling will probably be backed by the EU.

You all must be insane to think Prince can't pay this. Pocket change.

Musicology alone set him up for his latter life.
