I still think Prince will have a little temper tantrum and blame his lawyers but then do some shows for the promoter and all will be well in 'Prince Land' camels at 3 am and all!

lol lol lol @ a great amount of possibly "just-above-broke" Orgers celebrating Prince's money issues..lol.

You gave him the $ all these years...

When these entertainers are rich, they have to insulate themselves with staff, security, disguises, limos, etc.. It's not like the man can walk out on the street at any time without being attacked.

With the proliferation of all of this recording software and home-studios, less new acts and producers may be using Paisley Park.

Plus, you have their extravagant and secretive private lives, and those people have to be paid too..

Investment Packages go "bust"..

People don't have the $$$$ to keep feeding the rich and wealthy of any profession (especially entertainers), who are just sitting on a bunch of loot, and not creating and investing in business, factories, etc.. They're just "sitting fat", and being extravagant and flamboyant.

Selfish-in, Selfish-out.

Unless your families are robber-barons in oil, hotels, airlines, etc.. You will "feel the pinch".

Youngsters and older folk are copying their friends CDs, and downloading tracks.. C'mon! Whitney was the biggest seller of the last quarter, lol .

Spend big, lose big, win big.

Big Bank, Big Name, Big debt, Big Tax.

Good to see Prince is forced to pay up when he messes people around as is his standard business practise, now I wonder if a class action from his fans who lost money for flights/hotels/work when he cancelled would work, I doubt it, but might wake Prince up abit when his fans sue him .... we could add the rip off from his websites/clubs to the action as well.

Prince's view of how his fans can fund his lifestyle is bizzarre, the rip off's for the loturflow£r.com website, the O2 aftershows he charged £30 for but then decided on the night if he could be bothered to play or not for his fans, I went to 2 and he played at neither, first concerts i've ever paid for and the artist decided not to play and thats ok ?????

"Pot calling the kettle.."

I never said do not judge... The Bible (Well The Torah..nor Yahoshua's teachings) do not say that either..Read it! There are judgments all over those passages..

I questioned some judgments here in this thread.

Then, your following statements are "judgments" too.

You make judgments about people everyday..I just don't get where people get this "do not judge" propaganda from...

If you don't speak to someone who walks past you, you made a judgment of them to not do so. They were not worth your time..Everybody makes some sort of judgment.

Only a hypocrite says "Do not judge/Do not make judments"..

Free Forum. It's funny how all of this vulgarity, and nastiness is allowed to be promoted here, but I'm judgmental..lol. That shows what you hold dear to your heart.

I'll take it.

It's safe to assume that you don't have Prince's $. I stand by what I said...even off the internet. If you got $, you understand big debt, and how to get out of it.

If you are wealthy with no debt, and on this site everyday instead of spending your $ everyday, and living well, I apologize.

I can judge a judgment.. And you need clear definition of a judgment.

By the way..

Why are you reveling in the demise of any man (that has not done any real wrong to you)?

[You know who you are...]

Because he had so much $, and he "blew" it..

You've never "blown" any $? Huh?

You've paid everyone "on-time" every time?

You've never "withheld from paying one bill, in order to liquidate some other assets, (get some $ form some other source or account), or pay something else first .

It's fairly simple in my eyes...

If I was Prince, I would do this:

Go the route of Genesis, KISS, and others, and release DETAILED box sets of his albums, rarities, ALL music videos and choice concerts and clips. This could put him into the stratosphere financially.

Him getting back with the Revolution and taking that shit worldwide would bounce him back.

And I am one of those fans who believes that Prince can make a kick ass record when he really wants to. He needs to.

Just my opinion. I doubt he does any of these things. But I know that no one would be mad if he did.

Don't worry. Prince isn't broke. He has until April 15th to pay the 2009 taxes so I don't know why the press is making a big deal outta that. As far as the concert promoter. In the end I bet Prince will only have to pay about half of the $3 million, if that. Hell, he can make that doing one birthday party. As far as the site and $77, I don't think I'll ever subscribe to another Prince website again.

He's made alot of money throughout his career. He just doesn't know how to manage it.

**1988---just four years after 'Purple Rain',he was having financial problems.
**1995---Three years after signing a $100 recording contract with Warners,he was having financial problems.

so it's not surprising that he's back in this position again, just a few years after his 'Musicology' tour comeback.

No Wonder lotusflow£r.com took the $77 from everyone, he needs it !

As for the people who say $3 million is a drop in the ocean for Prince, it isn't, the quotes about income from touring are wildly off target, as they are normally gross takings, once he's paid tax, venues, touring staff, promoters, logistics, he won't see more than a couple of million for himself, thats why he played the O2 last time, much cheaper logistics. I've managed a tour for a small band and that cost a fortune, its amazing all the things u take for granted that add up.

On top of that are his day to day costs, he constantly has security around him, that costs a fortune, his staff/eployees at Paidley Park, houses he owns/rents all over the place, Paisley park must just eat up money, especially as its not exactly hip for recording up there, its a long time since an REM recorded there.

He's not making for a fortune from sales of his current albums or the back catalogues, his sole income is pretty much touring, and based on how he treated this promoter, the terms he gets for his next tour are not going to be favourable, would u offer insurance for Prince to play a gig ?????

And how much have the divorces cost him ??? then his legal fee's for sending all the lawyers after people on the internet who play his music in the background on home video's on youtube, and he does this all on his own, Warners aren't there picking up the cheque anymore...his last decent selling commercial album was in 1991 .....
[Edited 3/26/10 9:49am]

At last! Someone talking some sense!

Running any sort of business is very costly and when you have the kind of frills that Prince likes to surround himself with, the cash that he made on these tours really isn't going to last very long. I'm willing to bet that if you looked at his running costs it would make for eyewatering reading: handmade designer suits, shoes, custom made accessories, make up, cars, security, staff, accomdation on tours, food bills, entertainment expenses, properties and their running costs, utilities, taxes, band members salaries, recording studios, rehearsal venues, instruments... the list is endless...

I personally think that $3m is gonna hurt him and a large part of me is immensly smug about that (Yes, I got re-charged $77 for his shitty, contentless site - In fact, in doing so he took the last of my money that was earmarked for food to feed my family. Twat.) It would do him the world of good to have to struggle for a while - that way he would have some idea of how the rest of humanity copes - the added bonus being that Prince puts out his best stuff when he's 'hungry'.

Prince is dire need of a reality check, his ass-holery is costing him dear and I suspect that his legal team have taken a big pound of flesh off him recently, with all of the work that they're having to do for him. I'm glad that karma has come to pay him a visit and it seems to me that kicking him where it hurts (his wallet) is the only way that he'll pay attention.

I hope he learns a few lessons from all of this and stops being such a dick.

Wow, feelings hurt much? 2 posts were needed to explain yourself? It's not that serious, hombre. Actually you still are the hypocrite. In some ways we will always be hypocrites. But you are a rude juvenile hypocrite. Im going to guess you are just as "broke" as any of the broke "orgers" you are mocking childishly. You want to bet $? Oh, that's right you probably are broke.

Projection is a bitch,linndrum4days. But you are a talkative one, aren't you? How ya like those apples? Kinda bitter, huh? Yeah. It's beyond transparent with your comments to others regarding this discussion. You know what is humorous about you? You make too many assumptions about people you do not know. You know a "text personality" that's it.

Why are you rambling about how you think I view this situation? You are way off in your assessment. Personally I think Prince has this psychotic hold on you that you can't let go and in turn you respond on a emotional level to anything you perceive as "negative" It's not that serious, chief. Go play your linn drum and chill out. Might want to put that bible away and read some Richard Dawkins instead. *oooh low blow* wink

I'm not usually the sort that enjoys other peoples misfortunes either (god knows Im having my own financial troubles over here) but it galls me deeply that while the rest of us have been struggling through a recession, Prince appears to be completely oblivious to it. The proof of this lies in the total lack of commitment to offering us (his fans and ultimately customers) any sort of value for money with his website. He and his team of merry webdesigners chose to ignore any feedback that was offered, both through emails sent to the team and on here. They also carefully ignored all of the 'promises/suggestions' in their advertising that they used to lure us cash-wielding idiots in.

Someone needs to send prince this memo: Do not bite the hand that feeds you, it may well bite you back...
I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

C'mon and dance while you, while you still have your cherry babe, cherry babe..
