You all must be insane to think Prince can't pay this. Pocket change.

Musicology alone set him up for his latter life.

There is no way 3 million is pocket change for Prince. He earns a fortune but spends even more.

Just reading through the threads here at the moment. Laughed out loud, this/we are princes biggest fan base online (or offline) What must he think reading through the threads. Time for a change purple guy. getting lonely in that symbol shaped castle?

Come back down to earth and save your career. Please, u can still do it.

Oh, you gotta love Prince sometimes.

But seriously, $2.95 million is nothing to the guy. Just look at the money he made from the '02' dates and Musicology tours, his back-releases etc.

And come on! If Prince needed the money that badly he would have toured way earlier than this. He'd have been on the road early last year.

Prince could release a few Vault albums and get enough money from fans to pay this.

I think it's safe to say tickets for future concerts will cost more than $31.21

I think it's pocket change 4 him when U think about how much he made with the Musicology Tour, 3121 Las Vegas, the Planet Earth distribution deal in the UK, 21 Nights in London, the weddings and private parties he's been playing lately, and I'm certain plenty of royalties flowing in from 30+ years of a prolific career. If he actually can't pay the $3 million, then he could do "right" and work it off by actually playing a whack of gigs in Ireland.

It might be karma, but a tour? Prince in financial trouble? I doubt it. Much more likely he is just utterly disorganized. The trouble we've had with Lotusflow3r is the exact same trouble everybody else has when working with him. Tour managers, Agents, the lot.

Hmm... I see your point, but I have a feeling that these are people taking the flack so that Prince has an 'excuse'. The buck stops at the top (or 77 bucks in this case). Any other artist, if this had happened, would have instantly posted a video/statement/something to his fanbase. Prince? Gets some poor spod to take all the blame and posts it on an UNNOFFICIAL fansite... crazy.

That's probably pocket change for Prince.

I doubt it. the man only knocks down big pay days with his concerts these days. His lifestyle is a very expensive one to live. His homes, Paisley Park, His cars, his clothes etc etc...
Im sure shelling out close to 3 million is gonna be slightly painful right now.

come on, 3 million is really pocket change for him, the first persons who subscribed to lotusflow3r are recharged already, sum up: 1 million subs times $70, not to mention royalities, album sales the highly profitable 2009 european tours..... = pocket money

Got this from TMZ:

Prince is the subject of a public shaming in Ireland -- after a judge decided to release information about the singer's recent court battle because the Purple One isn't paying the piper. High Court Justice Peter Kelly just announced that Prince owes nearly $3 million in damages to concert promoters for bailing on a 2008 show in Dublin at the last minute. According to Kelly, the two parties reached a settlement back in February -- but Prince hasn't paid the promoters a dime. In a related note -- during the case, an agent who worked with Prince told the court that the singer is a royal pain in the ass to work with ... and when the agent informed Prince of the Irish problem, Prince said, "Tell the cat to chill. We will work something out."

Ireland. YouTube baby. Perfume company. Property taxes.

Not any one of these things is going to financially ruin Prince. However, 2010 doesn't seem to be shaping up to be a very good year for his purse.
