Dear friends and family,
For the past year, my buddy Mark Ronson has been secretly working on his album. I had the privilege to hear some of the material early on and I was blown away!! Even though I was on the road I told him I had to be part of it. After countless sessions and sleepless nights, we somehow managed to write a couple tunes that I am so proud of and couldn't be more excited for you guys to hear. Sooooooooooo, with that being said, it gives me great pleasure to announce that the first single off his amazing project is coming out on November 10th.

Speculation amongst fans is that Bruno may perform the new song at the EMA's next month, which are being held the day before the single drops wink Nothing confirmed but a BIG possibility!

Yeah I love that meme too, describes my feelings about getting a new song AND music video from Bruno! biggrin

Tonight Bruno and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are both performing at the Silverlake Conservatory Benefit. They arent performing together but its cool that they both will be performing at the same benefit since they shared the stage at the Super Bowl this year.

And Bruno IS gonna do the Rock In Rio festival next year too!

Bruno Mars Joins Rock in Rio; Vegas Venue Revealed

MGM Resorts International and the organizers of Rock in Rio USA announced additions to the music festival's lineup Monday and offered a glimpse of what to expect when the event comes to Las Vegas next year.

Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran will join Taylor Swift, Metallica and No Doubt performing on the main stage during the festival, which takes place May 8-9 and May 15-16. Singer Joss Stone also is slated to perform.

The announcement and debut of the festival's look came complete with a magician, tap dancers, a fire-thrower and musical acts performing in front of building facades resembling streets in the United States, Brazil and the United Kingdom.

Luis Justo, CEO of Rock in Rio, said the festival is intended to be an "immersive" experience. A Ferris wheel and 64-foot-high zip line are also planned for the site.

The venue will accommodate 85,000 general admission ticket-holders each day and 4,000 VIPs, organizers said. A pre-sale last month attracted ticket-buyers from 32 different countries, Justo said.

The 37-acre open-air venue stretching from the corner of Las Vegas and Sahara boulevards next to the Circus Circus Resort is being built by MGM Resorts in concert with Cirque du Soleil and The Yucaipa Cos. investment firm.

When Rock in Rio and its "City of Rock" street facades leave after next year's shows, the venue will be used for other concerts, food festivals and sporting events year-round, said Chris Baldizan, senior vice president of entertainment for MGM Resorts.

"This is a monumental task," Baldizan said of turning the large swath of dirt into an outdoor entertainment venue.

Tickets are expected to go on sale in January.

Cameron Diaz will host SNL for the fourth time at NBC's long-running late-night sketch series for its Thanksgiving show on Nov. 22, the network announced Monday. Diaz next stars in the big-screen adaptation of the musical Annie, in theaters Dec. 19,opposite Jamie Foxx, Rose Byrne andQuvenzhane Wallis.

Joining Diaz will be music producer Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars as the musical guests. The pair collaborated on "Uptown Funk," which will be released Nov. 10 as Ronson's first single from his forthcoming album.

Harrelson, doing the rounds for the penultimate installment of The Hunger Gamesfranchise, hits the stage Nov. 15 — the first time in more than two decades — with musical guest Kendrick Lamar, as was previously announced. Chris Rock just hosted this past weekend, opening with a stand-up routine that contained jokes about the Boston Marathon and 9/11.

Saturday Night Live is produced in association with Broadway Video. Lorne Michaels is the creator and executive producer.

“I did go to music school,” Rufus Wainwright professed Saturday night at the fourth annual benefit for the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, hosted by the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea and Anthony Kiedis. “I actually dropped out. But I think it’s important to have a music school to drop out of.”

Wainwright performed an eight-song set following dinner on the lawn of Ron Burkle’s Beverly Hills estate. The musician, seated behind a grand piano, offered a selection from his various releases, including his requisite cover of “Hallelujah” and “Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk.” He kicked off the set with 2004’s “The Art Teacher,” a song that felt appropriate to the event’s intent.

The benefit's mission was to raise funds for the music school, which launched 13 years ago and currently counts 700 students, 200 of which attend for free. In his introduction, Flea noted that the school is presently constructing a new, larger building that will allow the Silverlake Conservatory of Music to double its enrollment. He told the crowd that the original intention of the school still stands, simply to teach music. “I’m an Angeleno,” Flea said. “I love this community and I just want to serve this community.”

Kiedis then brought Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti onstage, musing that the evening felt like “just a win-win situation.” Garcetti, who also spoke at 2013’s benefit event, recounted a story of how he moved a piano into his office because he felt like something was missing. “I sit down and I play the piano,” he said of searching for inspiration. “I have that gift because my mother was a musician and raised me playing the piano. Because music has permeated our lives I know what it does to you as a person.”

Garcetti added, “Music shouldn’t be defined by the zip code you’re in. We need music in every school in this city and we won’t stop until we get there.” In his speech Garcetti called Los Angeles “the creative capitol of the world,” and toasted to “music, to our souls and to the greatest city on Earth.”

Bruno Mars was next to take the stage and, like Wainwright, recounted a similar music school drop-out tale. Mars, who grew up in Hawaii, said he took a Polynesian music class as a kid, where they learned classics on the ukulele. “I remember watching the Chili Peppers on Woodstock ’99 and they played this Jimi Hendrix song and it blew me a way,” Mars told the crowd, which had gathered around the base of the stage to dance during his set. “I went into my class and tried to teach everyone the [chord] changes and my teacher kicked me out of my Polynesian music class.”

The singer ran through several of his hits, including “Treasure” and “Locked Out of Heaven,” but also took the private concert as an opportunity to have some fun. “We’re gonna wedding band out right now,” he declared before he and the band launched into a quick-fire series of covers. The group bounced through “Pass The Dutchie,” “Your Love,” “Poison,” “This Is How We Do It” and “Every Little Step.” Mars also revisited “Billionaire,” his 2010 single with Travie McCoy,” which he mashed with a cover of “Money (That’s What I Want).” Of the latter, he fittingly donated the song "to everyone with deep pockets.”

Indeed, the 500-person crowd heeded his call,particularly when it came to the event's silent art auction, a standout element. Donations came in from numerous artists, includingDamian Hirst, Richard Prince, Raymond Pettibon, Cecily Brown, Ed Ruscha,Gus Van Sant, Charming Baker, Kim Gordon, Tim Armstrong and Shepard Fairey, and raised over $1.25 million for the conservatory. Armstrong, who had several pieces in the auction, attended with his son and spent the evening hanging out with Travis Barker. Other attendees included Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, Danger Mouseand The Kills’ Alison Mosshart.
