Well Bruno is in the home stretch of fininshing up this tour. Today he kicks off the first of his last 5 shows in Mexico!

Saturday he played at the Curacao Jazz Festival. Still rockin the Bruce Springsteen look but, he was really dressed down--I think this is the most casual I've seen him dressed in a while. It was probably due to the heat, which I heard it was pretty hot there and you can see Bruno is sweatin up a storm here

So it looks like Bruno-mania is taking over Mexico City right now! Check out this pandemonium from the fans storming their motorcade down there! This was filmed by a couple of the band members:

John Fossitt: “It just got real!! Mexico is bout to be crazzzy! #TurnDownForWhat #MJWT”

Kameron Whalum: “Mexico City is READY!”

Its as if Michael Jackson landed in Mexico! eek lol It totally reminds me of the frenzy he would create when he toured overseas. Wow @ Bruno's impact! I also read that earlier, fans had been camping outside his hotel singing songs lol. Yep, just like MJ's fans would do when he went overseas.

Tweet from Duggy X, the saxophone player in the band:

Bruno Mars, within hours of his concert in Mexico, causing a stir among his fans

Bruno Mars tonight Tuesday will be presented in concert.

Several fans were given an appointment on Tuesday to look forward to singer Bruno Mars who came to our country for a concert tonight.

In different parts of the city, the young people gathered outside the hotel where he was host while in Aztec lands to achieve a photo with their idol, however the closest I have got is a picture with the father of the singer.
The father of Mars was walking down the streets and I wanted to get a soda, but followers of his son invaded with questions.
It is noteworthy that the only thing he shared was that his son had breakfast and is resting deeply in their rooms, because you want to give a great show this Tuesday night.

So the crowd in Mexico is definitely the wildest, rowdiest and passionate crowd he and his band have ever encountered! I read at one point Bruno even threatend to stop singing if the audience didnt calm down. Some fan said that Eric (the drummer) had to use an oxygen mask after the show because he couldnt breathe!

This is a historic event--the first time we've ever witnessed a full on Bruno Mars Mania sweep a country eek It's reminding me of the Michael Jackson mania that swept over the entire world in the 80s I'm tellin ya! whew

Review translated by Google:

Bruno Mars makes his jungle DF

With pop, disco, reggae and a proposal of marriage, the musician began to dance to his fans on his first show in Mexico City

BY: UNIVERSAL

Wednesday, September 3, 2014

Mexico, DF. With a production of epic proportions, and accompanied by the charm of his voice and dance, Bruno confirmed Tuesday against Mexican public that magic and sympathy are the keys to the success of your Moonshine Jungle Tour.

"Welcome to the Jungle Moonshine" was the battle cry with which Bruno arrived at the Arena Mexico City at 21:15 to start their frenzied show with the song "Moonshine", for which he was accompanied by his inseparable six Hoolligans ( musicians).

Very ad hoc to the theme of his tour, the singer dressed 28 coffee vest, white shirt and beige striped hat and shoes with no socks, and with his guitar in hand.

"Mexico city, are you ready? Welcome to the Jungle Moonshine, we are happy to be here for the first time. We need to move, I want you to enjoy and dance, "said the singer born in Hawaii prior to playing his song" Natalie ".

During the song "Treasure" from her album Unorthodox Jukebox, Mars transported the audience to the early 70s and even disco ball included.

That famous song caused the campus to become a giant nightclub where they danced all night the thousands of souls who filled the seats in the arena.

Already on the mood, the musician gave way to other songs that overestimated in his career, as "Money", which mixed with his hit "billonaire" and with his Mexican fans went wild.

Accompanied by his inseparable musicians, Mars was amenable, and committed in complicity with the audience to dance on the bandstand a little reggae to soul when performed "Show Me," "Pony" and "Let's get it on" with the the deafening screams were immediate.

Peter Hernandez, real name of the artist, at all times showed his gift as a musician, songwriter and dancer, as it did during the song "Marry you". Other songs like "Runaway", which used a megaphone, "Grenade", "Just the way you are" and "When I was your men" were chanted by onlookers while the interpreter several small steps tugged style late King of Pop.

Then he took a flag of Mexico, saying "Bruno Mars & Hoolligans".

This was the first show featuring the singer in Mexico, brought together more than 22 thousand people, according to officials of the building, breaking the record he held Michael Bubble in this same place.

Oh Naughty Kitty, thanks for starting this thread. I laughed when I saw that mob of women attacking Bruno's car. Wow, it does remind me of the MJ frenzy back in the day. Well, I hope these guys savor these moments because they won't last forever. But then again, we are hooligans and will probably still be doing this when we are using canes and walkers. Imagine 50,000 old hooligans hitting his motorcade with our canes and fake teeth in the year 2060 or whatever lol I'm gonna take some more time to read through all the posts and watch the videos but it sounded like it was utter chaos down there. So when exactly does his entire tour wrap up or is he gonna try to pull another MJ and tour for almost two years straight? Well, this is a great thread girl, keep them coming! #hooligans

Peter Gene Hernandez aka Bruno fuckin Mars needs to stop touring and get his ass in the studio to work some songs. Touring is unbearable at this point and I'm sure everybody from the band feels it. They need to get some rest.

Thanks for schooling me on TBQFH. And I agree that he needs to get in the studio and work on a new album. I think touring is probably hard enough but when you only have two albums, I guess your setlist must be pretty narrow. I'm sure he throw in a few remakes here and there but we need new material. Oh well, he strikes me as a bit of a tease so it might be a minute before we get anything new. He seems to know how to leave audiences wanting more. This guy is top notch to me and is a breath of fresh air from overexposed, overhyped "singers". This guy is a true musician. xoxoxo love him to pieces!

No problem. I agree, he's a gifted musician and I see him going a creative route, producing great records and albums. Now that he's a global superstar, all he needs is taking enough time to work on some really good music, satisfying in every way, an album that's so perfect.

Yeah I think he has a lot of surprises up his sleeves with the fans. We know that he's got a lot more to him than what the passive type of music fan would see. I can't believe that some people think he doesn't have personality or whateve. He has loads of personality and writes really good music. I could care less how many "producers" he uses but at the end of the day, it's his name that's on everything and he doesn't strike me as the type who is a puppet by any means. I think people who don't see his talent are programmed to think that autotune and dancing on stage half naked is par for the course when it comes to how music "should be". They are blind! I'm sure if Bruno was a singer back in the 50s he would have been that generation's Elvis or whatever.

You're welcome SeventeenDayze! Gotta keep the Bruno fan thread goin strong here on the org wink Yes that frenzy in Mexico was on the MJ level, I think even Bruno himself was surprised by it--he wasnt expecting that type of reception! LOL at his fanbase being elderly and attacking his van wth cans and fake teeth. Can you imagine Bruno and his band being that age still tryna dance around on stage? Their steps would be slower and Bruno will be singing his songs an octave or 2 lower...but as for him doing the hip thrusts at that age? lol lol lol Nah!

His tour technically ends tomorrow! He's got his last 2 performances in Mexico Sept. 5 & 6. But according to his schedule, he's got some children's benefit concert and some Muhammed Ali tribute concert scheduled later this month and two Las Vegas performances and a concert in the Dominican Republic next month.

I agree its time for this tour to be over so he can take a break, recuperate and focus on creating new material, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Bruno may be a bit addicted to the stage and performing live and I wouldnt be surprised if he makes it so his schedule has a few live performances every month lol.

Then there is also the possibility of him performing in South America. He's performed everywhere in the world except there and his fans in Brazil have been begging him to tour there...I really wouldnt be surprised if he toured a few dates down there early next year.

Glad you preeshiate the thread! biggrin

Bruno Mars Captivates Audiences in Mexico City Leg of Tour

Megastar Bruno Mars continues his world tour with a stopover in Mexico for several concert dates. Throngs of fans welcomed the pop star and his band and reports have surfaced that fans are camping outside his hotel room and singing to him on a daily basis.

The 28-year-old,"Locked Out of Heaven", singer has been taking the world by storm in his "Moonshine Jungle Tour" that has lasted nearly 18 months. Fans have been seen camping out in front of his hotel and swarming his motorcade by the thousands in a manner that is reminiscent of Michael Jackson's tours of the past.

The Grammy-award winning singer began his debut in Mexico at the Mexico City Arena de Ciudad Mexico stadium.

Tens of thousands of fans were lined up early around the arena awaiting their chance to enter the stadium for the concert by the famed rocker.

An estimated 22,000 concert goers were on hand to experience the pandemonium that surrounds Bruno Mars, a rocker whose debut was just a few years ago but has captivated audiences around the world with his smash hits such as, "Nothing on You", "Gorilla" and "Just the Way You Are".

Bruno and his band, "The Hooligans" kicked off their Mexico City hit with their hit song, "Moonshine" and dazzled the crowd with their ensemble which included trumpets, electric guitars, drums and keyboards.

In an interview before the widely-anticipated concert, Bruno Mars shared his feelings about being in Mexico for the first time. "I'm happy to be here, to sing and make them shake and dance," he said.

Prior to kicking off the Mexico leg of his tour, Bruno Mars also participated in the Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdamn in the Netherlands.

He also made a special apperance in a special event sponsored by Toyota that was especially designed to welcome its dealers throughout the world.

Sources say that after Bruno concludes his tour, he will be in the studio working on a forthcoming album that may be released in 2015.

First, I'm gonna say "preeshiate" forever from now on, I love that word! Second, of COURSE he will be doing hip thrusts at that age and we will still scream, even if his mojo is a bit slowed down by then. Yeah those mob scenes around his car completely reminded me of MJ back in the day. I just don't remember the last time an artist with only two albums has made such an impact. It's crazy. Well, I am starting to think you are right about his addiction to the stage. Perhaps the Super Bowl sealed the deal in his mind because that was such an incredible performance in front of the largest audience he'll probably ever have in his life (counting TV viewers here as well when I say this). Thanks for telling me about the Ali tribute. Would you be certain to post about that just in case I miss it? smile Please keep the Bruno news coming, we just can't get enough! smile
