Okay, if their were "American" fans - most of them, even after the time Invincible came out were cruel.

I remember one day, after HIStory came out, wearing a cool MJ shirt, the one that you could order from the little tiny brochure with the album, and I was called, "weird," "gay," "sissy," "fag," and all kinds of things for being a fan of a musician. Now had I wore an AC/DC shirt or something crazy like that, they would have totally not said a word. Kids 10 up especially made it hard for the younger MJ fans to publicly admit to liking him around 93/94/95/96/97. You couldn't wear an MJ shirt without some person my age saying, "Child molester!" How annoying. Thanks a lot Jordan Chandler and your greedy creepy family.

Another memory I have is when Invincible came out, back in 2001, and I carried the album, and some people, "Is that Michael Jackson? He is so weird. Man, your music taste sucks. Nickelback is so much better." rolleyes Then, what was funny was later, some people were talking and defending Michael, and even when some people would say, "Man, Michael Jackson has tons of good songs" there were still the person, or little group of people who would just insist upon focusing on putting him down. "He is just gay" "He is just weird" "He is a freak." The truth is, a lot of that is probably out of jealously, as lame-o as it sounds. They knew MJ was a legend, and would be regarded as such for long after his lifetime, and they didn't like that the crummy alternative/whatever-style artist/band they liked wouldn't. Mix that with some lame-o fear of things that they don't fully understand..and bam..instant shitty attitudes against a living legend at the time. Pisses me off now that people try to make it like, "I was an MJ fan all along," and its like, "Weren't you the same asshole who put him down during his lifetime?" I hate fair weather fans. mad

My goodness this Jackson Family stuff is terrible.

You reap what you sow in life. Joe should have treated Katherine better, and not flaunt his mistresses.

Now I realize how much Michael was depended on. He practically supported the Jackson Family fund.

No wonder he was using prescription drugs.. To much for one person to handle.

Shocking! The Jacksons are fighting over $. Who didn't see that coming? Even in death, MJ is their meal ticket.

Well, I will say one thing and that's that they are not unique in that respect. Even when relatively poor people die, there are still family members who try to fight over the few assets they might have had.

Well, but the Jacksons are doing MUCH more than just have a little fight over money. If you knew what Randy, Joe and some other siblings are up to, you wouldn't compare the Jacksons to "other families". The Jacksons are dysfunctional, greedy, evil and mad.

BTW, when I say Jacksons, I don't include MJ's 3 kids, Michael, Janet and 3T.

I think the toughest part was seeing how the media had gone against him. How he was under constant scrutiny. But I think only if you talk to people directly or went to certain message boards would you pick up that there was a feeling that American fans were not as devoted or supported of MJ. But that didn't make being a fan hard for me. That sort of stuff is pointless.

nod

Exactly, I supported Michael through thick and thin from the 70's till forever.

To heck with what others say.

You are right. Whenever I talked about the Jacksons, I never included (I never meant to include) Michael, Janet, MJ's 3 kids and 3T. I was referring to MJ's brothers, Rebbie, Latoya, Joe and Katherine. I love Michael who was an amazing and God-like human being. He was different from his brothers and parents, so, whenever I talk/talked about the Jacksons, I wasn't referring to Mike who was MUCH better in everything than the rest of his family.

How does everyone feel about Sammy Sosa's sudden change in skin color? His friend said, "He’s not trying to be Michael Jackson. He is going through a rejuvenation process for his skin."

He's an idiot anyways. He didn't have skin blotches like MJ or any rashes around his cheeks like MJ so he ain't got no damn vitiligo and that excuse that he is having a rejuvenation or something is ridiculous and ignorant especially when people got on MJ's case. Just for that I may just put that picture of a serious-looking, long-haired MJ on the background of my Twitter. wink

I wanted to ask does anyone ever find it 'hard' being an american Michael Jackson Fan around History era through now? It seems the rest of the world bashes MJ fans from the USA.. maybe i'm the only one who sees this. neutral

european fans hate americans. to an extent, i don't blame them. the american media was horrid to michael in his end years and acted like the only album he came out with was Thriller. The fact that Michael has beaten and is bigger than the Beatles and Elvis bothers a lot of Americans especially white. sorry to say that but it's the truth. Funny how the American media ran him out of his own country and now they are the country that cannot stop talking about and praising him. neutral

Marlon stayed away for the most part. Margaret even said it. Marlon moved away from the family in the late 80s to Atlanta

let's not even put "speshul" Valencia into it, but Marlon's a stand up dude IMO, same with Jackie (the ONLY brother who hasn't sold an interview to the tabloids)

It's LaToya, Jermaine, and Randy who need to be watched

Marlon's daughter is crazy anyways. Marlon never said anything derogatory about his brother or was part of any schemes some of the other guys were involved in to try to get MJ to do some reunion. The only thing sideways was when he said "Mike must be riding on a camel" but I look past that. As for Rebbie, it ain't her but her so-called "friend" Stacy Brown trying to speak for her and shit but look she was there on some days for her brother's trial and was at the funeral and she saw him a few months before he died. Jackie? He would never. He's still grieving to this day about his baby brother's death.

Michael Jackson should of provided for both his mother and father until their death. This man had an estate estimated appx. 500 million dollars. So far his mother gets $26,000 a month= $312,000 per year! Where is the money.
Micael Jackson business was a mess. His 79-year old mother has to be responsible for the three children, who will be targets. They need security, private tutors, a nanny etc... She now has to be in charge and pay all these salaries?...I love MJ but his business was a mess!

Michael died with as much as $500M in unpaid debts. Yes, half a billion dollars. Thanks to the executors of the estate, Katherine receives $87K per month, not $26K.

The point, his business was A MESS!. 26k to the mother and 60k to the kids( 20k per child) for living expenses. I'm sure a lot goes to security, tutors, nannies, etc... needed to protect the kids. I know there is a history of Joe Jackson's mismanagement of money and law suits, but I still think M.J. should have been in the position to provide for his elderly parents until their deaths.

My question is what happened to the money? The Jackson family could not have been responsible for all M.J's money problems. What happened between 1992-2002? Why were his advisor not investing so he could have mutli-sources of income. (Even Liz Taylor has the perfume line and income). I think focusing on Joe Jackson takes the focus from what really happened in Michael Jackson's life in the last years. (unless Joe stole all the money).

lol, maybe it's because my father is kinda like the Michael of his family (although he didn't/doesn't have Michael money lol ) that all this stuff doesn't shock me at all. In addition to supporting half siblings, cousins etc etc, he also supported/supports my mother's lazy ass siblings. I could tell you stories for days. So all this stuff is not shocking to me at all. And I know many other families that have dealt with so much crap, especially when someone dies. It's still pathetic but not in the least surprising. There are a lot of evil, greedy people in this world who are not Jacksons. Just look at all the leeches that we know of around Michael.

Anyway, all this stuff about the American press being horrible to him, weren't the British tabloids just a vicious?
