Posted Nov 10th 2009 6:42PM by TMZ Staff

The only Jackson who was flush with cash -- Janet -- put her money on the line to cover some of the cost of Michael's funeral, this according to legal documents that were just unsealed.

In the docs, it shows Janet signed an "initial contract with Forest Lawn for mortuary services in the amount of $103,578.50" and paid $49,372.50 of the bill up front.

According to the docs, the special administrators of Michael's estate were granted permission to pay Janet back the $49k and to pick up the remainder of her outstanding tab.

Talking about going out in style. I wish that I can comb that cemetery myself to see why it cost almost a million dollars to bury one man disbelief Death is not that expensive.

Just say the Americans you know thought he was guilty. A lot of people I know didn't. Maybe some members of the black community turned their backs on Michael but when the verdict was announced, even BET showed a marathon of his videos either that day or over the weekend (can't remember). I personally don't believe that the black community, in general, turned their backs on Michael. But regardless, they did not want to see him go to jail.

let me rephrase the majority of white americans thought he was guilty lol

that is very ignorant statement. and to laugh about it shows it even more.

european fans hate americans. to an extent, i don't blame them. the american media was horrid to michael in his end years and acted like the only album he came out with was Thriller. The fact that Michael has beaten and is bigger than the Beatles and Elvis bothers a lot of Americans especially white. sorry to say that but it's the truth. Funny how the American media ran him out of his own country and now they are the country that cannot stop talking about and praising him. neutral

This is completely untrue. Hate is such a strong word and using racism saying that all white americans are bothered by that is a very strong statement, and untrue. how can you speak on behalf of so many people, black or white.

You know this came from for me atleast was I asked about some Fans in one country not seeing eye to eye from another country of MJ and it turned into nothing but BS about race and media, for which I can only agree with you about that the media.. yeah they did attack Michael and it was and still is wrong as hell.

Well I have had some of my cross stitch picture custom framed, and the last one cost me almost $400,and it wasn't nearly as big as the picture that they had of Michael. It also depends on the kind of frame that is used, the more decorative the frame, the more expensive.

This is dope*****MJ/Prince French Documentary (entitled "Dr. Prince & Mr. Jackson")

Don't know if this fits in the MJ thread but there was recently an acclaimed French documentary about Michael Jackson and Prince----their relationship with each other; their differences and similar attributes as well as their impact on the music and pop culture scene...It's very even handed on both artists and sheds some illuminating theories about their connection...

Extensive Interviews with Alan Leeds, Wendy & Lisa, Nelson George, and Randy Taborelli (***Narration is in French; but the interviews are in English...pretty cool****)...Have fun....

That is interesting, cus in the preview, it looked like 6 of them dancing.
Maybe additional choreographers with the brothers that did want to be on the show?

Picked up my copy of I Want You Back! (Unreleased Masters) at Best Buy tonight for only $8! What a steal! biggrin I simply love it. I played it before switching to Dangerous. Listening to "Gone Too Soon" again tonight. I must be some kind of weird masakist to a certain degree, because I knew this song would make me emotional/and get me thinking about Michael being gone, but I put it on anyway.

I still keep wishing MJ would show up with his entourage, and I'd wake up early one morning and he would be on TV, with his big entouage, Kenny, The guys from AEG, and be announcing it was a PR stunt and his tour was starting in 2010! Instead, we get left with some crummy doctor knowing MJ's whereabouts before his passing, and probably not being truthful about them, to spare his own ass. Pisses me off we will probably NEVER know the full story behind that. Some sources have even said there was video of every room of the mansion Michael died in - where then is the video? Where Dr. Murray? Where? Who else would have taken it? Bubbles? I don't think so!!! mad

As stated - David Rothenberg was a child who was cruelly set on fire by his father. He suffered major burns as a child. When Michael heard of his story he reached out to the family and became friends with the child. As mentioned in the interview David decided to drop his last name (that of his father's) as a way of removing himself from the pain of the action - and he chose to take on his own name as his surname (be his own person).

People speculating it is not him in the interview is just ridiculous.

Warhol's Michael Jackson portrait sells for $812K
(AP) – 5 hours ago
NEW YORK — A "Thriller"-era silk-screened portrait of Michael Jackson created by Andy Warhol has sold for $812,500 to an anonymous collector.
The artwork sold at Christie's in New York City Tuesday evening.
Christie's estimated that the portrait would sell for $500,000 to $700,000.
The 1984 portrait depicts a smiling Jackson in a jacket with squiggles of red and yellow in his hair.
The auction house says the seller is an anonymous private collector based in New York who bought the image from the Andy Warhol Foundation in the 1990s. It did not say who bought the artwork.
The image was one of 47 lots auctioned Tuesday, including two other Warhol paintings.

Michael Jackson, Beatles vindicated as 'Billboard' changes chart rules
by Simon Vozick-Levinson

Billboard announced today that starting later this month, its flagship Billboard 200 chart will reflect comprehensive sales of all albums, old and new. How come?

To understand the changed rules, think back to the awkward chart situation that followed Michael Jackson’s death this past summer. Sales of his work immediately skyrocketed, and for six non-consecutive weeks, his greatest-hits set Number Ones was the best-selling album in the U.S. Yet since it was more than 18 months old, Number Ones‘ sales weren’t counted for the Billboard 200. It was instead relegated to lesser-seen charts like Top Comprehensive Albums and Top Pop Catalog Albums, while lower-selling new releases like Sugarland’s Live on the Inside topped the the Billboard 200. A similar fate befell the Beatles’ reissued albums, several of which would have qualified for Top 10 spots on the Billboard 200 this fall if they weren’t so old.

Prior to Jackson’s death, no catalog album had outsold the Billboard 200’s No. 1 in the publication’s history. So this is just a matter of keeping up with the times. “What we’ve seen in the past couple years — and not just with Michael Jackson — is a lot of albums reissued with new content,” Billboard director of charts Silvio Pietroluongo tells the Music Mix, citing successful reissue campaigns for Pearl Jam’s Ten and Jackson’s Thriller. “I think what we’ll see in the future is more labels trying to mine their catalog in creative ways. The Billboard 200 needs to show the sales activity of those titles, and also any older titles that receive a spike due to any other exposure, [such as] an artist appearing on American Idol.”

The change will go into effect with the Billboard 200 dated Dec. 5 (covering the sales week from Nov. 16-22).

No offense to them... but Tito and Marlon didn't inherit the good looks that Jackie, Jermaine and Michael did. I just noticed how, and I hate to use the word... but, uglier they look compared to the other Jackson boys. You can especially see the contrast in that second photo. I mean I'm not harshing on them or anything. They are terrible looking. But Jackie, Jermaine and Michael are so much better looking. That's all. Although when Marlon grew up he got a lot prettier. He's actually probably one of the better looking Jackson men these days.
