Honestly, I don't see anything wrong with her still having the china, but the clothes should be gone.

I know those china dishes are ugly and I wish they would not pan over that china cabinet.

I really don't think that is where they are kept, but is being displayed for

this show and just to bring up a conversation about the dishes.

The fact that Mayte is very- very limited on what

she can say about her ex. the show so far is portraying her only as a 'fan' of Prince.

If you think about it, I wonder if that is what Prince thinks about Mayte at this point.

You can see Prince's history in the past that he knows how to drop folks like a

bad habit and move onto the freshest thing on the block.

I'm sure he has a special place in his

heart for Mayte, but you probably have to dig deep for that special place.

He lives in his own purple fantasy world and wants everyone else

to come visit and stay for a while until

you are dismissed by his ego.

Since Prince entered into her life while

she was a young teen, Prince had a big influence on her.

Can you imagine a grown man who's old enough to

be your father giving you all this attention?..

You are being treated like a queen, buying you things and protecting

you from the world. She looks at

him as a father figure and becomes awe struck

when she is traveling and being on stage performing with him

and watching the crowd going wild over this man and later, her husband.

She is falling deep for him..is it her first love?

If this was her first love then it is going to take a longer

time to let go, this show is not going to help because

all those emotions that she has suppressed over the years

is starting to surface.

She's now revisiting

her teenage years looking at Prince as a Rock star and she is his biggest fan.

Now she's able to

look at the big picture to see all the experiences she shared with him

even the good times and bad.

She thinks of the dreams they had together, the bed they shared , the baby she carried.

the songs he made for her and the friend she thought she was going to have for life.

She now realizes that 'fairytales don't always have a happy ending'

Mayte will aways be a Princess because her inner beauty will always

shine even when she's old and grey.

What stood out to me... especially in episode 4 on the plane ride ... that Mayte and prince didn't have all that money to burn like the Murphy's did.

Nicole: "Girl Prince didn't have ya'll on private jets?"

Mayte: "Naw, we traveled with the band and errybody...."

Nicole: "Damn... po' baby... comfort "

This I don't understand. I thought Prince got something insane like 100 million dollars for Emancipation? Plus all his other stuff, Prince has ALL KINDS OF MONEY, right? I mean if that douchebag of the "Girls Gone Wild" videos has private jets and such, how in the world would Prince not have it like that?

Prince does employ lots of people and has major production costs... actors don't have all those expenses. Then again Eddie Murphy ran a movie production company company.

I get the feeiling Prince is very frugal whne it comes to $$..

Sort of like penny wise pound foolish.

I mean flying commercial sounds like in the same vein as recording concerts and videos in his own studio/set instead of springin the bucks for on location filming.

But then he is pound foolish, becuase he spends the money to film and produce the vidoe and then refuses to release it.

More and more I am reminded that Prince was born and raised in MINNESOTA by a mother who was a 7th day adventist.

Prince was the most progrssinve and "wild" thing coming out of Minnie. It appears this was a persona, but his real personailty is in line with his midwest traditional upbringing.

Even his conversion to organized religion after years of the whole non specific spiritualism...

The impression that he is more sexually conservative than his stage persona.

I think people come into his world thinking he is very progressive/liberal thinking and actually he is not.

I don't know what Mayte meant by that, perhaps Prince did not fly with private jet in the '90s (lots of tours use buses because of all the equipment and entourage/band) OR she has a different idea of a "private jet" (no band members, just herself + Prince = "private jet" to her)? --

On Prince's latest tour "Welcome to Australia," Damaris Lewis blogged twice about flying on Prince's private jet, how empty it was, there was NOBODY on the plane but just "us" and how in love she was with it. She had a photo of herself with it on her twitter, which I tried to find for you, but is now removed.

Damaris also wrote about the "amazing food" and local culinary specialities, and the spectacular views from her hotels.

So I doubt Mayte lived like a "po' baby"; Mayte mentioned herself in an interview about the large luxury suites they used to stay in, and how it wasn't like that for her anymore. And I'm sure even if she flew commercial, it was 1st class, which is a BIG difference from coach.

In summer 1998 or '99, I was in a waiting area with Stevie Wonder at LAX (Los Angeles Int'l Airport). He was getting on a commercial flight, but judging by his boarding he was in 1st class. On the thread "The Coolest Thing Happened to Me" in PPM, Crackrobat posted that her sister-in-law sat in front of Prince in 1st class on a commercial flight. So I guess even if you have tons of money, you fly commercial sometimes, but 1st class.

I don't think Prince has been on a tour bus since he became a commercial success, and in his band also flies. In the 90's for them it was likely business or first class.

Mayte mentioned in the Napa episode that for certain things jets would be chartered, but she mentioned the band also being present during those trips.

Still, I understand that she was saying it was a difference to the way Nicole and Eddie traveled with a jet just being readily at their disposal (I'm assuming Eddie just has his own). I personally don't like them . I've been on charters for work related stuff, and they just remind me a a twig ready to be snapped in two by lightening. No bueno. shake shake shake

These are more of my impressions of Prince.

But then I was also thinking that she was with Tommy Lee, even though she wasn't his wife, I'd of thought she'd gotten some "perks" in that relationship that she could sneak into the convo. Who knows all the do's and don'ts of this show.

I hate when I hear people say this. And who would be the one to decide who should & shouldn't have kids? You?? It's usually the ones that have a couple of kids of their own or have nothing wrong with them that say shit like this. The fortunate ones. Why can't Mayte have a baby of her own? How is she or anybody else for that matter any different or less "blessed" to have her own compared to you or I?

um, God.

I usually don't pay too close attention to Prince's personal life...but did catch this show last night. First thought, Mayte is still in love with him, but wants to move on. But wow, what a beauty. Absolutely georgous. The others on the show don't hold a candle to her looks. Eddie Murphy's wife is pretty too...but omg, those fake boobs are hideous. Mayte could get any man she wants...the fact she settled for Tommy Lee grosses me out...huge c*ck I know...but geesh...he is a dirty nasty man (and not in a good way).

Also her mother was hilarious on how she feels about Prince. I think she pretty much hit it in the head...love him as an artist, but he sure can be a douchebag to people he supposedly loves.

I usually despise reality shows but I am hooked on this one (and "Love Hip Hop/Atlanta").

The dinner date was interesting with Andrea. I also thought his eyebrows looked kinda strange too. The chicks I work with were making funny comments on his texturized babyhair.

I feel kinda bad for Mayte on her bad luck with men. But I think she may find someone through this show. Possibly an actor or an athlete will hook up with her.

I'm also glad that Eddie and Nicole's daughter (Bria) is starting to look more like Nicole and less like Eddie. Has it ever been stated on why they divorced? They seemed real happy and in love with each other.

who knows for sure. People have pointed out that there break up iccured just after that scandal with Eddie giving. The transvedtite a ride. And Johnny gill being a house guest and basically overstaying his welcome. Pity sounds like Eddie and Nicole just wasn't on the same page anymore. shrug it happens to long time married coupled.

Lawd, I'm sitting here at work fashion trend trackin' "Black Hollywood" charity events and look which one of our "Exes" was out and about:

Mayte Garcia - Celebs at the DesignCare Event

I follow the red carpet fashion at Holly Robinson Peete's annual Autism event- I was checking for pics of Tracey Ross & Regina King's dresses and lo and behold, there's our little Latina Hollywood Ex smack dab in the middle of 'em. She looks in pretty damn good shape to be hitting 40. These days I'm just seeing more and more women reaching 40 (and over 40) who are really doing the damn thing. I'm starting to feel like 40 really is the new 30. It almost makes me wanna go out an go running or something, and that's saying a lot lol .

Actually, I didn't say that she got her figure from running. I'm aware of her maintaining that figure from years of dance training. Hell, I've seen Mayte right in front of my face onstage and off more times than I have both fingers and toes, and it's clear that she has a traditional dancer's physique. I mentioned running for myself, in general terms of maintaining what I call The Slender. When I was young, I took dance classes for 16 years, and while the legs are still exactly the same as 20 years ago, for me not to pick up any special "cushion" anywhere (what I call the "Debbie Allen Syndrome"), what works best and fastest for my 41.5 year old ass is to get on a treadmill and get to bookin' like a runaway slave. She does look great here, though. That color is also very flattering on her. 'Drea's crazy behind? I believe she said Mayte had her feeling those "temporary lesbian feelings". That girl is such a nut. I have to watch the episode in full when I get home because she sounded like she really had some good zingers this week... and I also need to hear Laralaveque's favorite about waking up in an alley with a carrot sticking out of your azz.

She looks great here! Fabulous dress, love the color also!

Yep Mayte looks good. I 'd say she does some extra work out because most belly dancers I've seen live have a extra bit of jiggle in the middle, so I don't think it only takes the dancing.

The swirl Percy, I've seen him somewhere before, I don't remember where though.

Omg I was thinking the same thing. I'm pretty sure I've seen Percy on a dating show before.

I just saw his face about 3 weeks ago on one of the black blogs but I can't remember for what exactly. Those eyebrows are pretty hard to forget.

So last night before cuddling with hub for a movie, I finally watched the date/bellydancing episode all the way through! Okay, some standout moments from this week:

Nicole, and her Househunting: even though she got ripped off with her kid's trust fund, it's clear that mama ain't in no way broke. lol. I was on board with her when she described the dining room dilemma (that's going to be a big ass family under one roof) But did I hear this heffa say she needs a home big enough to build a bowling alley and movie theatre? Girl, bye! lol

Jessica, Andrea, Mayte & The Mixer: So much for the ladies getting their "Sex In The City" on. I didn't think the men looked like serial killers, but let that be a testament to how freaking hard (and annoying) it is to date when you're a certain age, and (groan) divorced on top. Too bad this show doesn't air on Bravo, otherwise they could have called in Patti Stanger instead confused . This matchmaker was lame and he didn't remotely have enough men in place at that mixer, and his parlour game was stupid. Something embarrassing or that turns you on? Hardly correct conversation for the first time people are meeting, that comes later. The "what would you take to a deserted island?" was more in line for the occasion...and of course Jessica had to say drugs. The girls looked great, but lord, Mayte shows up dressed for communion falloff . It was a pretty dress- but she needs to save that for daytime, in that moment she just reminded me of a Puerto Rican version of Charlotte from Sex In the City (the early years) lol

Andrea's Date w/ Mr. Potato Brows: neutral neutral neutral neutral

All I can say is that I'm happy it worked out well....but men, please remember that it's possible, even in this new metrosexual world that we live in, to take manscaping too far faint Lord, when I saw those brows y'all, my gaydar went straight to Code 10 purse Alert. Then he started talking whofarted & when he started describing his conversation with Tony in the shop- his impressions of Tony's voice were just too on point eek . I was sitting there looking like this timeout . But lo and behold, as the conversation went on, he let a little misogyny shine on through with statements like "I don't care who you used to belong to" and initially describing his ideal lady as "I just need a woman who can cook" ...and then it dawned on me, "oh I get it, you're not gay, you're just a Metrosexual with a proclivity that leans a bit too heavily towards your eyebrow razor err " I was damn near expecting him to rip open his shirt and start beating on his big ass gorilla chest after that, but he kept it classy, finished the date nicely, and made Andrea smile and all ended well....oh, and every woman knows (cough, cough, Andrea) that the easiest way to get your date to look at your booty, is to tell him "and don't look at my booty no no no! batting eyes " lol Anyhoo- I hope they enjoy dating each other and that she continues to have a nice time. Cause after all, she has made it all too clear that she needs that itch, er, um scratched, as it were- and she the way she's been all hot and bothered during the last 2 episodes had me thinking it was time to sit her hot ass in a bucket full of ice. lol

The Belly Dancing:

Enjoyed watching the girls rehearse: Mayte's a good dance teacher (as is Andrea). Enjoyed seeing everyone arrive in their outfits, they all looked great ...I'm still tripping on how fantastic all their bodies are shocked . It's like you have each woman representing each body type of the spectrum (rectangle, curvy, athletic, pear, etc.) and they're all representing it well.

Okay, when Percy Potato Brows showed up and they all descended on him like crows on a harvest confused disbelief I understand that you're all looking out for your girl, but good grief, let a brotha breathe, be able to get a sip and a nibble before y'all jump him.

Jessica screaming "he's not white!", church lady Sherree leading the interrogation like Judge Judy, Mayte and Nicole sitting there with those crinkled facial expressions if he didn't get his answers up to their expectations. Nah, y'all was doin' a 'lil too much:dead: Here's the thing, I believe very much in having my girls look out for my best interest, and to be a presence in my life where people know not f*** with me, otherwise they will have to answer to a pack of wolf women who will chew that ass. But to start in so quickly and so heavily upon just meeting your friend's new date; for me that says yes the friends love their girl and want to protect her, but that you also don't trust her judgement enough to figure out if a dude is worth dating, even if it's only dating for like 3 minutes. This part of the episode was a good lesson/observation on the theme of boundaries in sisterhood. And the ladies were around that man clucking like a bunch of hens who had none.

Then ending dance was lovely, and Mama Nelly looked proud of her baby. Very nice heart . How about her getting up there on that bum knee in her Mumu Caftan doing her thang!??? Go 'head, Mama! The thing about older performers that I appreciate is that they have the ability to get up, even at half-capacity, and accomplish more with like, a quarter of whatever they younger persons have done. Gotta love that, the Old Skool shutting it down with just a hint of what lies underneath martini

That was a good episode. Now where are they supposed to next week when Sheree and Jessica get into it? You know what? At the end of it Sheree better be calling on Jesus and praying for resolution, because if I see her acting a fool on national TV as First Lady of her husband's church, I'mma be too through. beg confused
