Lawd, I'm sitting here at work fashion trend trackin' "Black Hollywood" charity events and look which one of our "Exes" was out and about:

Mayte Garcia - Celebs at the DesignCare Event

I follow the red carpet fashion at Holly Robinson Peete's annual Autism event- I was checking for pics of Tracey Ross & Regina King's dresses and lo and behold, there's our little Latina Hollywood Ex smack dab in the middle of 'em. She looks in pretty damn good shape to be hitting 40. These days I'm just seeing more and more women reaching 40 (and over 40) who are really doing the damn thing. I'm starting to feel like 40 really is the new 30. It almost makes me wanna go out an go running or something, and that's saying a lot lol .

I've always felt that Mayte has been a beautiful woman with a body to die for. She looks wonderful here and I think you are right about 40 being the new 30. I'll be 30 in a couple of months and working hard to get my body in shape because these 40 year old women are looking better than the ones my age and in their 20's. nod I have no problem not eating bad foods, but its the sweets that get to me (see my sweets addiction thread). I'm trying hard to kick the habit. lol

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Now that we are more than half into the season of the show, I have to say that I enjoy it. No drama, no cattiness going...so now that I've come to enjoy it, I see that next week is when some drama is going to begin. It never fails I guess.

I have to tell you that I love love love Andrea. She's my favorite. Her personality is so much fun, I'd love to hang out with her any day. She seems like she's really down to earth and can talk to pretty much anyone. It really makes you wonder if R. Kelly is a fuddy dud, boring ass dude to have let her go. And her body, my GOD!!! Did y'all see her washboard abs in the last episode (the belly dancing one)??? It was like ping pow! Can I meet her trainer? No scratch that, can I enroll in 6 months worth of her classes so I can get a body like hers? Wow. I'm glad that she and Mayte seem to be the closest on the show because of their dance backgrounds and they both are good dance teachers. Now after watching for the past few weeks, I believe this show will contribute to helping Mayte continue with her career. She should open up a few dance studios herself since she's great with helping others dance.

The other ladies are kind of like blah to me. I like Nicole and all (another one whose body is straight bangin'!) but other than seeing her and her daughter's relationship, she seems kind of boring-ish. But I can take her over Sheree and Josie.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Okay watched the clip- Too crazy that she bought a house KNOWING there was a murder / suicide there. And she doesn't seem too scared of the ghost. Now I don't feel so crazy, I just moved out of a house with a ghost. He used to come out of the closet (in empty guest bedroom) at about 3 a.m every morning, walk around the house, then just go back in. confused It was crazy, you would just hear the closet doors opening/ him walking around/ and then he would return and shut the doors. People staying over would hear it and shit ten bricks. One friend even went and spent the rest of the night in his car! biggrin

Girl, how come you didn't have some Holy Rollers come and pray over your space??? I would been a holy oil anointing heffa all over that house falloff

Unfortunately I won't be able to see the extras because they're on VH1's site and they won't stream to Europe (I'm watching the show bootleg lol ), but you know what? Some people are just advanced enough spiritually that ghosts don't phase them. Shoot, if you feel got the Creator in your corner, it makes it hard to pay a ghost any mind- just on principle that the Most High means exactly that," THE most high" so a lil ole ghost ain't no match and ain't nothin' to worry about biggrin

See. nod This is one time I would welcome speaking in tongues.

Seriously!

I hate talking about their lost baby or babies, but you guys are killing me.

You guys do realize that they lost their baby almost 16 years ago right? So people in their life should never talk abou their own children because Prince and Mayte lost a baby 16 years ago. People in Prince's band have children and I am pretty sure Mayte has been around plenty of babies since the death of their child.

Alsothis is scripted reality show and I am pretty sure Mayte was well aware of the subject matter b4 hand, and I am pretty sure if they are truely friends (which I doubt, H'wood friends maybe) then Mayte has seen and held the baby already. It's absurd to think that others should not be happy about their children, especially a newborn. Once again, Mayte is a grown women who made a choice to befriend this women and then turn around and hav lunch w/her on TV and talk about the baby. She did date Tommy after P and he had small kids.

You guys are making her look ridiculous and making her into a victim of some sorts. Lets not 4get that when she came into the picture Prince was heavily into Carmen (until the distrasterous CD/Tour happened/Cheated on him) so her hands are not clean. 18 or not she has a sense of what is right or wrong.

From the sound of things I rather think the two of them, are "friends" to spite Prince and Mayte strikes me as one of those passive aggressive types. Also, I am pretty sure the first person they approached for this show is Mani, being that she is a little bit more well know than Mayte in Hollywood right now. I think Mani is not to be trusted, but Mayte does not have to associate with her, but she chooses to. She is 38 years old!!!!!

That's what I think, too. Mani didn't just happen to walk up on Mayte and have lunch. This was staged for sure. And I wouldn't doubt it if the producers/directors told them what to do. Sure, Mayte looked hurt when Mani whipped out those pictures, but what did you expect the bitch to do? I knew before she sat her ass down that she was going to whip out some pictures. BUT, it was a bit cold of her to tell Mayte she'd better hurry up because she wasn't getting any younger, Mani should have left that to herself.

And for those of you who think Mayte is going to spill some sordid secrets about her marriage to Prince, dream on. Ya'll won't get that story until Prince has gone on to Purple glory. no no no! and that might not be for another 40 years the way old boy takes care of his body, unless he hooks up with some lady who can't take his two steppin and puts a cap in his ass. And I'll bet you a dime to donuts, Mani'll be the first one with the rights to the story. That trick don't miss a beat, ya'll! deal

Dang Eddie Murphy, all the women are badd! but EM show must be fool to let that go! lol

I always thought Nicole looked a little "chiseled" (I just can't say manly, just a little sharper features) when she was with EM.

But now, she looks BETTER older than when she was younger. Her facial features have softened to look more feminine. And she has always carried herself with an air of grace and poise.

Her fashion style is better than movie star celebrities that I am sure hire personal stylists to cultivate their style. Those celebs should hire Nicole.

I think EM was also crazy to allow anything break up his family. I don't think Nicole was a gold digger. I don't think she would be bothered with broke man or one of modest means. BUt she had 5 kids with EM. A gold digger would get 1 - 2 kids really quick then break camp. You don't stay for more than a decade with a whole mess of kids unless you are in it for the long haul.

Same for the ex Mrs. Kelly. She would have still been with R kelly if things were a little more tolerable.

That baseball player's ex wife... 1 kid in 3 years and then she was out... same for the ex Mrs. Smith... purse

JMO

I agree with you there. I remember the first time I saw a picture of Nicole Murphy. It was an unflattering picture which, I swear, made her look like a horse. It was taken in profile, and her face looked abnormally long, and her head was very large. She's very atrractive now with a slamming body, expecially after birthing 5 children, but back in the day, girlfried was a bit racked.

Well...if Mayte isn't willing to spill the beans, then her mom sure is willing to. I saw on the preview for next week's episode that Andrea is going to ask Mayte's mom if she liked Prince. Mayte's mom is going to say "professionally, I loved him, but personally....(she takes her foot and slams it down like she's squashing a bug)"...I was like popcorn So I'll definitely be tuning in next week. lol

This is why I love people when they get old. They just get to a certain age when they say what they want to say and don't give a damn falloff

lol Girl, I was just waiting for her to say something! I was thinking, "Aww shit. Here it comes!" Mama made it quite clear that she thinks he's dog shit.

Yeah, I am definately not hip to these things! Once a guy broke up with me and gave me the old, "It's not you it's me" line (at that time I had never seen a single episode of Seinfeld) and I remember driving home that night thinking, "Wow, that was really big of him to admit that I am not the problem, that he is!" hahaha- So stupid! lol

eek Girl, that line is hella old eek , it didn't even originate with Seinfeld. faint . Okay, it's official--- we have to have you observe some of the OG ladies in the org's GD section sexy ; the experience, wisdom, advice and tips they have on man-woman affairs in there is pretty dang awesome...and well, hilarious to boot lol

Honey, we gotta school these youngins! I've used that line myself...lol BUT. I saw an embroidered picture years ago that read,

"Lord, I have a problem. It's me."

"Child, I have an answer. It's Me."

I snapped it up and hung it on my wall. nod

OMG!

That "date" was a mess. But, until Mayte gets over the whole dating famous thing, no one will be up to her standards. She's starting to remind me of Chili.

I don't think it's too much to ask that a guy not wear a hoodie on a first date. She took so long to get ready and all he did was put on his best hoodie. To a restaurant in beverly hills. Really? I understand "accept me for who i am" but a hoodie on a first blind date? And she had to feed him? When she said she wanted babies she didn't mean him. That date was a hot mess. I would have gotten my grub on too, with lots of garlic so he would have no doubts about kissing.

Well, she got what it was. A frigin HOOD RAT! If that had been me, I would cuss out Nicole big time.

"GIRL! You know I've got better taste than that! I asked you to hook me up with someone nice, not with a goddam hood rat! HE WAS THE PERSONIFICATION OF THE TERM! Nuccah, please!" slam

When I saw the promos of Mayte's date I thought, "What?!" but after watching the episode, I thought he was adorable- Surely he shouldn't have worn the hoodie but I liked that he was unpretentious and kind of funny and told Mayte (the gorgeous Mayte!) that he wouldn't kiss her because she was coughing! haha-

He was a nice enough dude, but these people are of a certain age now; I can't roll with somebody who doesn't even take care to dress accordingly for a date, in addition to being a poor conversationalist who hasn't yet figured out how to properly eat pasta in a restaurant hmm If I was out in the market, I would be looking for a man who's not just pleasant, but can make make intelligent conversation and at least has basic table manners to accomdate eating in public. I don't find that being pretentious, it's just about finding a grown, mature man that has basic social skills that I'd like to be more compatible with my own. No one is saying that the girl (or any single woman out there) should only be focused on elite circles and celebrities, but by God, don't shortchange yourself for basic compatability traits in your search---that doesn't make any sense and is basically just a waste of everyone's time in the end. coffee

See.

I can never understand why people go that route. I mean...it's so transparent. And if you feign a disaster, the creep might want to help you in some way. shake

I'd rather just say, "I think we both know this isn't going very well - so let's cut it short. Here's my half of drinks/dinner/whatever. Have a good evening."

That was a fun episode and I agree that I'm glad about drama and catiness being kept to a minimum in favor of bonding and sisterhood.

They all looked cute in their bellydance outfits but Mayte and Nicole...wow!

I'm anxious to see what type of house Nicole ends up buying...I do think that house was too tight for seven people who like to entertain.

From reading the comments Andrea seems to be the one everybody is drawn to. She got that pepper, lol

It was how the kids were raised. EM had a bowling alley in his house in New Jersey. I remember reading that. I think he called his place Bubble Hill.

So Nicole is just keeping her young ones in the same lifestyle that they grew up with.

Finally watch Episode 6.

I am CRACKING up at andrea. Not only were did those guys look like "serial killlers" they were the Original serail killers... they teach CLASS on how to be serial killers. falloff

Jessica letting the cat out of the bag that she had her husbands dressed like baseball player or doctor (scrubs) to get busy. lol

Nicole looked absolutely beautiful in her belly dancing outfit. Actually I loved Sheree's as well. Her outfit reminded me of champagne and the golden bubbles from the champagne.

Tony scored a home run with setting up Drea with Percy. He is fine and acts like he got some sense. He is not in the stratesphere like the ex husbands... but he seems to be doing pretty good for a regular joe.

Mayte was STUNNING at the bellydancing event. Just a reminder to all those haters out there why Prince PICKED HER.

She makes Mani look like a Orphan Annie that married well and was transformed. Mayte was already all that and a bag of chips when she MET Prince. talk to the hand

reallly like the show and I see there is talk of a 2nd season. Not sure if the premise of the show make sense to have a 2nd season. bug anyway, I hope Mayte got some national exposure on her bellydancing and her attention getting presence. Maybe some movie producer saw this segment and got on the phone with his talent scout and said "get this girl for our next movie.

Drea is definitely the draw for this show. Because she is so funny. Without Drea the show would be a little more dull. After all, they are living their real lives, and hell we got the same things going on in our lives. But Drea just provides opportunity for laughter even when she is not telling a funny store herself. Nicole had everyone cracking up telling Percy "Drea's been doing her booty clapping for you... don't lie".

I read on aonther board that someone thought Perry was on another VH1 reality show. Maybe ILuvNY.

Now that I think of it...he DOES look familiar.

Does anyone remember seeing Percy on another reality show?

Nicole had everyone cracking up telling Percy "Drea's been doing her booty clapping for you... don't lie".

I was watching the mixer that the matchmaker set up and I was thinking where are they getting these guys from? eek No wonder 'Drea called them serial killers, lol

The guy she had dinner with seemed kind of together on the surface but the ladies dropped some hints later in the show that he may not be all he seems...hmmm.

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

It was how the kids were raised. EM had a bowling alley in his house in New Jersey. I remember reading that. I think he called his place Bubble Hill.

So Nicole is just keeping her young ones in the same lifestyle that they grew up with.

Exactly, that doesn't bother me at all. This is the life that she and the children know, so if she likes it, hey, I love it. I was speaking more in terms of her being boo-hooey about her embezzled funds and me thinking she was two steps away from jinglin' a can on Santa Monica Blvd. lol Ain't nothin' wrong with that girl's pocketbook, I'm sure she'll be just fine, new bowling alley and all. lol
