Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I'm rooting for the King, but Golden State has the better team. Cavs chances depend on the health of Kyrie Irving.

GS in 6.

I figure the refs will give the Cav's at least one win.

Lebron is a great talent but all of the flopping and whining is a big turn off 4 me.

Go GS.

The NBA Finals

Game 1

Cleveland Cavaliers 100 Golden State Warriors 108 F/OT

The Golden State Warriors came into the NBA Finals looking to win a title for the first time in 40 years while the Cleveland Cavaliers were hoping to win the first title of any kind for their city in over 50 years. Both teams had a week off to prepare and heal some nagging injuries to key players like Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson.

Early on, it appeared the nerves got to Golden State, as they shot only 29% from the floor. Meanwhile, Lebron James started the game on fire, scoring 15 points in the first quarter. Kyrie Irving showed no ill effects early on, scoring almost at will while also crashing the boards and playing crushing defense. He would finish with 23 points, seven rebounds, six assists, four steals, and two blocked shots including one on Stephen Curry in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter that would have given Golden State the lead. But a more disturbing situation would occur later on.

Stephen Curry would struggle in the first quarter, but he would be picked up in the second by his bench. Marreesse Speights would provide some scoring off the bench to bring Golden State back into the game, and they would also get contributions from Shaun Livingston, Fetus Ezeli, and Leandro Barbosa, but the biggest lift would come from Andre Iguodala. He wopuld play 32 minutes in this game, scoring 15 points for the game but otherwise providing key defense against Lebron James.

The second half went neck and neck, as Stephen Curry would find his game and Klay Thompson would also find his, as Thompson finished with 21 points and six rebounds. The Warriors also got help from Draymond Green and Harrison Barnes, who scored 12 and 11 points respectively including some clutch shots in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, Lebron James and Kyrie Irving carried the load for the Cavs, with Lebron scoring 44 points in this contest. Timofey Mosgov did score 16 points, but the rest of the team struggled. J.R. Smith only managed nine points in this game, and six of those came in the first quarter, and he had no points after the second quarter, shooting 3 for 13 from the floor. Lebron had a chance to win the game in regulation, but his 3-point shot bounced off the rim, and Iman Shumpert's follow missed, thus sending the game into overtime.

Two things happened in overtime that would turn the fortunes of Golden State. First, coach Steve Kerr went with a small lineup, pulling Andrew Bogut for Andre Iguodala to get more scorers and faster defenders on the floor. His strategy worked, as the Cavs would not score until 8 seconds remained in the overtime period. The smaller lineup also allowed more spacing on the floor, and Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes would hit a couple of 3-pointers to seal the victory. More disturbing was the fact that Kyrie Irving reaggravated his knee injury after attempting to drive to the basket and slipping.

Golden State leads series 1-0.

1. Cavs only scored 2 points in OT. Shameful! lol

2. I think Kyrie Irving is on his last leg (no pun intended) for the season. If his health is anything worse than 80%, The Warrior might win this whole damn thing in 4 games.

Cavs are done without Irving - it'll be just like the '07 Finals. Of course the Lebron haters will have a field day, ignoring the fact this is a banged-up Cleveland team.

It's official. Kyrie Irving has a fractured kneecap and is out for the NBA Finals.

http://espn.go.com/nba/pl...-push-this

I thought Golden State would win this series anyway even with the Cavs 100% healthy, but now we're probably looking at a four game sweep.

They sure will and already are. Kyrie is done and so is Cleveland. LeBron may have done his best job this season carrying this team on his back and practically done it without Love and Irving. They are already saying LeBron has a built in excuse. lol These clowns kill me. I'll bet Curry couldn't carry the Warriors without Thompson or Green.

Many of those Lebron haters are Jordan or Kobe nut-huggers who don't know shit about the game. Jordan never lost in the Finals because he always had the better team. Even against Utah, I never felt the Bulls were going to lose.

Lebron's 2007 & 2015 Cavs teams just don't measure up.

I don't think that is true.

I think Lebron is a great talent. One of the best of all time, but there are thing about him and his game that I simply don't like.

Whiner

Flopper

Get's away with 6 or more offensive fouls a game

is allowed to take one dribble past half court and runs 2 the rim for a dunk or layup.

Travels on 40% of his drives 2 the bucket with no call

His backdowns are 90% offensive fouls and are NEVER called as such.

How is a defensive guy going against one of the BEST of all time, supposed 2 compete against the player and my list above?

Another key thing about Jordan. He was never the defeated or dethroned champion. The Bulls were pretty much broken up/ dismantled.

Glad Cleveland won Game 2. The refs were absolutely horrible in overtime. Dramond Green literally climbed up LeBron James' back on that jump ball.

The NBA Finals

Game 2

Cleveland Cavaliers 95 Golden State Warriors 93 F/OT

The Cleveland Cavaliers got devastating news after game 1 when they discovered Kyrie Irving fractured his kneecap in overtime during that game and was lost for the remainder of the NBA Finals. The conventional wisdom was the Cavs no longer had any chance of winning this series and was only a matter of whether the Golden State Warriors would get a sweep.

Nevertheless, the Cavs would have no choice but to soldier on, but this time they had to rely on their defense to carry the day. Matthew Dellavedova started in place of the injured Kyrie Irving, and while he couldn't even hope to deliver the offensive firepower Irving could, he was instrumental in this game. He had the assignment of covering Stephen Curry, and in that regard he was totally effective. Curry would end up scoring 19 points in this game, but he struggled mightily in the field, shooting just 5 for 23 from the floor including just 2 for 15 from beyond the 3-point line.

Meanwhile, Lebron James once again had a monster game, getting a triple double with 39 points, 16 rebounds, and 11 assists. Timofey Mosgov was once again effective early, as he scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Tristan Thompson also crashed the boards for 14 rebounds while J.R. Smith scored 13 points off the bench. But a few bonheaded fouls almost cost the Cavs the game.

While Stephen Curry struggled to find his shot, Klay Thompson easily found his and almost singlehandedly kept the Warriors in the game. Thompson finished with 34 points and five rebounds. The Cavs would jump out to an 11 point lead with just over three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but the Warriors would come roaring back with help from Draymond Green and Harrison Barnes. Green would spark the comeback and finished with 10 poinst and 10 rebounds, while Barnes scored 11 points and six rebopunds including a key follow up on a missed Stpehen Curry 3-pointer in which J.R. Smith fouled him needlessly. Stephen Curry would tie the game on a driving layup with just 7.2 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Lebron James once again had a chance to win the game in regulation, but his drving layup missed, and Tristan Thompson's tip-in was unable to connect, thus sending this series into the second straight overtime game.

This time overtime would go back and forth, as the Warriors would trake the lead with a couple of Stephen Curry free throws with 29 seconds remaining. Lebron James would miss a driving layup to the basket, but Matthew Dellavedova would be fouled with just 10.1 seconds remaining in overtime. Dellavedova would hit both of his free throws, but it was his defense on Stephen Curry afterward that sealed the victory, as Curry would shoot an airball which was rebounded by Lebron before being fouled with 4.4 seconds remaining in overtime and the Warriors out of timeouts. Lebron would hit one of his two free throws, and the last second dribble down court by Klay Thompson was deflected by Tristan Thompson as time expired, thus securing the unlikely victory for Cleveland.

Series tied at 1-1.

The hype around Lebron is a big turnoff. I prefer watching the game with the sound off.

These comparision 2 others great players is completely pointless. Why can't he just be Lebron?

These calls by the refs are getting out of hand. Last night, GS have lebron trapped under tha basket, he changed his pivot foot and took a 5 foot fade away which he was fouled on but no call. The media failed 2 mention that he TRAVELLED before the non foul call. Just one example of the bias and hype.

You somehow failed to mention that Draymond Green grabbed LeBron's forearm on
the jump ball. Should have been a do over or a foul called. Not sure what NBA
you have been watching the last 30 years but superstars(media favorites)have
always gotten the hype and bias Bird,Jordan,Magic, etc. the only difference is
LeBron is in the middle of the age of social media.
Why can't he just be LeBron? Because the media and deranged fans won't let him be.
It makes good water cooler talk. You're severely kidding yourself if you think
the Cavs are the only ones getting all the calls.
