These social media . . . hating on Lebron are showing how little they know about basketball. No Love, no Irving, no Varejao, yet he took a team of scrubs to SIX games against the Warriors. In the NBA, the better team usually wins.

The mistake Lebron made was bringing in Kevin Love. They would have been better off long term staying with Wiggins.

Sorry, u, but as said on SI today . . . without 3 core players (2 of whom were All-Stars) LBJ took a group of bench riders and Knicks castoffs and carried them 2 wins shy of a world title. There isn't another player in GOAT territory who could have won that Finals.

Having Love could have made a difference, but in hindsight, I completely agree. Wiggins could have given them something moving forward.

The Golden State Warriors win their first title in 40 years. Steve Kerr became the first rookie coach to win an NBA title since Pat Riley in 1982. Andre Iguodala was named NBA Finals MVP. Congratulations to the Golden State Warriors, the 2015 NBA Champions.

Golden State wins series 4-2. woot! excited clapping

typing

Kudos to the Warriors. They play entertaining team ball. Though as a Lakers fan I'll hate to get beaten by them for the foreseeable future, they play and carry themselves the right way. Kudos also to the Logo, Jerry West, for being one of the architects of YET ANOTHER title-winning team.

Where does this team fit among the all-time greats, if anywhere?

The first dumb ass text I got from a friend was LeBron goes down

with Jim Kelly as the biggest loser of all time. Of course he's a

hating ass Celtics fan. I had to remind him LeBron has 2 championships

and 2 Finals MVP. He's played in 5 straight NBA Finals. A lot of players

would kill to play in one or win one. Congrats to Andre Iguadola the only

rooting interest I had in Golden State. I was joking with my co workers

that he would win the Finals MVP. Little did I think that shit would happen.

The whole idea that Lebron is a loser is just plain silly.

He is a great talent but the hype just turns me off.

I watched a lot of the post game stuff and 80% was about Lebron instead of the team that WON.

This makes no sense.

I wouldn't call them all-time, not when you compare them to the 90s Bulls, 80s Lakers & Celtics, or those awesome teams Wilt had in LA & Philly (IMO, Wilt's 1967 Sixers was the best).

Let's see if these Warriors can have sustained success like the 00s Spurs/Lakers. Can management keep this group together, because players will want to get paid. That's what happens when you win.

Agreed (my greatest team of all time is the 1987 Lakers, but each of the greatest teams has a strong claim).

I can't get past the feeling that if THIS Cavs team took GS to 6 games (and could have gone up 3-0), the team that LOST the 2 previous Finals -- San Antonio 13 or Miami 14 -- could have beaten GS. The teams that took the 90's Bulls to 6 were light years better than the Cavs, and the Lakers and Celtics beat and got beat by each other or other great teams like the Pistons and the Sixers.

Actually if the refs had called the games correctly.............it would have been GS 4 , Cavs 1 but the refs gifted the Cavs a game.

I am not just asking you but I'm throwing the question out there generally. He's not perfect but he plays at a high level and is a great pro.

I don't buy that. Even presuming the refs were in the tank, it shouldn't have mattered. with the talent disparity this should have been a sweep, refs or no refs.

It doesn't matter. I had no dog in the fight but if the Cavs had Love and Irving
this series would have flipped flopped the other way.

nod And every NBA championship team has a dynamic duo and/or sometimes a triple threat (EXAMPLE: Jordan/Pippen/Rodman) on the roster. cool

I rooted against LeBron the season after The Decision. After that, I have just been amazed by what a complete basketball player he is. Basketball needs those transcendent players.

He's got 4-5 years left at a high level. If that team comes into next year healthy (with some tinkering here and there), they're hoisting a trophy next June. And maybe a JUne or 2 after that.

Magic knows how this feels. After winning 2 titles, he lost in the playoffs and Finals 3 years in a row and was mocked. If Twitter were around then he would have been roasted. He went on to win 3 of the next 4, and got to the Finals 2 more times.

Yeah, that was the mocking I was referring to. Can you imagine how bad it would have been with Social Media? The memes, message boards, Twitter, Facebook, etc. 24/7????

Phil Jackson says LeBron James travels 'every other time he catches the basketball'

Phil Jackson may have not masterminded the Knicks' return to prominence yet, but he's spitting fire towards what he considers a league that is becoming increasingly less disciplined. A profile of the NBA coac...her Report includes some not-so-flattering things about LeBron James.

"I watch LeBron James, for example," he said. "He might [travel] every other time he catches the basketball if he's off the ball. He catches the ball, moves both his feet. You see it happen all the time. There's no structure, there's no discipline, there's no 'How do we play this game' type of attitude. And it goes all the way through the game. To the point where now guys don't screen—they push guys off with their hands."

But trading the pick makes ZERO sense. From what I've seen, it's a deep draft.

I have a feeling the Knicks will screw this up, like they've done for the past 30 years. Except for Ewing and Mark Jackson, Knick first round picks have been shaky.

The problem is, everyone trusts Phil's coaching bona fides, but don't know enough about his abilities to attract and develop personnel. He inherited loaded rosters in CHI and LA. But he apparently did not have much say in drafting or signing personnel. He's been hamstrung by the Knicks' cap situation but has ripped the shack down to the studs. He's on the clock now.
