The hype around Lebron is a big turnoff. I prefer watching the game with the sound off.

These comparision 2 others great players is completely pointless. Why can't he just be Lebron?

These calls by the refs are getting out of hand. Last night, GS have lebron trapped under tha basket, he changed his pivot foot and too a 5 foot fas away which he was foulded on but no call. The media failed 2 mention that he TRAVELLED before the non foul call. Just one example of the bias and hype.

You somehow failed to mention that Draymond Green grabbed LeBron's forearm on the jump ball. Should have been a do over or a foul called. Not sure what NBA you have been watching the last 30 years but superstars(media favorites)have always gotten the hype and bias Bird,Jordan,Magic, etc. the only difference is LeBron is in the middle of the age of social media. Why can't he just be LeBron? Because the media and deranged fans won't let him be. It makes good water cooler talk. You're severely kidding yourself if you think the Cavs are the only ones getting all the calls.

Lebron gets away with traveling and offensive fouls more than any player I've EVER seen. I've been watching the NBA since 1971. Getting the benefit of the doubt is not the same as ignoring travelling and offensive fouls. U can't sit there and tell me that it is.

To be fair, almost no one ever gets called for travelling. And the best NBA players have been palming the basketball relentlessly for at least 25 years.

http://deadspin.com/nba-a...1710112370

The NBA released its officiating report from Game 2 of the finals today, and, not surprisingly, the league found that the refs made a mess of the four calls that had you screaming at your TV during the closing minutes of the game.

The most egregious of the missed calls came with just under 1:40 remaining in overtime, with Cleveland leading Golden State 92-91. James drove left on Andre Iguodola, stopped in the lane, shuffled his feet for a bit while looking for space to shoot, and was raked across the arms by Iggy as the shot clock expired, sending everyone to social media to complain about the missed calls.

Yes, Iguodola fouled LeBron James when he went up for the shot. But also, James traveled before Iggy hacked him, so the non-call on the foul unintentionally brought some sense of justice to the play.

One thing that is of note—and will more than likely have the officials’ attention in tonight’s Game 3—is the pair of non-calls against Draymond Green during two separate jump balls.

I agree that Michael Jordan is the best player of all time. But on the greatest shot he ever made, he fouled the hell out of Byron Russell. No-calls for stars have been around for as long as there have been stars:

There is no way that is a foul.

Go outside, drive right leaning at 45 degrees, while dribbling the ball, and see how much strength u have 2 push off with your left while maintaining your dribble, and pull up and take a shot. I guess Jordan is Clark Kent now.

Sure, it was a foul. Byron Russell will tell you it was a foul, it just wasn't called.

Go to about 1:27 in the video. Jordan pushed Russell in the butt in the same direction both he and Russell were moving, then his arm hit Russell's foot on the way down. No great physics or strength involved in pushing someone in the same direction both you and he are moving. Also, there was no great move by Jordan to cause Russell to stumble. All Jordan did was explode, then stop and pull up. There was no crossover, or change of hands, or any other move that would cause an All-Pro like Russell to stumble. Just a push or as Phil Jackson called it, "A helping hand to a wounded comrade".

And look at Jordan's left arm. It's not being held out to keep Russell off him. If it had been, it would have been bent at the elbow, and Jordan's forearm would have been acting as a barrier. But that's not the case in this play. Jordan didn't use his left arm for anything except to push Russell. If he had been intent on shielding Russell with his left arm, there's no way that arm could have ended up behind Russell. It would only have been effective if it stayed ahead of Russell. But it did end up behind Russell, and that can only be because Jordan intended to push off.

But I'm not complaining about it (I hate the Jazz). I'm simply saying that all great players got the benefit of the doubt. They do in every sport. Go check Greg Maddux's strike zone sometime.

Michael Jordan got it. Bill Russell got it. LeBron James gets it. It will always be that way.

The NBA Finals

Game 3

Golden State Warriors 91 Cleveland Cavaliers 96

The Cleveland Cavaliers defied expectations to win game 2 of these NBA Finals, and they were hoping to carry that momentum home in front of their home fans who have been dying for a championship of any kind for the past half century. Golden State, however, was disappointed in their play in game 2 and wanted to get back to their high flying style they have played all season.

Yet it was the Cavs who took control of this game early, getting obvious scoring from Lebron James but also playing stifiling defense on Golden State. Stephen Curry was held to just 10 points in the first three quarters, and Golden State was held to under 60 points after three quarters for the second game in a row. In fact, the Cavs exploded in the thrid quarter, jumping out to a 20 point lead and leading by 17 after three quarters.

But Golden State would come roaring back in the fourth. They forced the Cavs into a series of turnovers, and Stephen Curry found his shot, scoring 17 of his 27 points in the final quarter including five 3-pointers. The Warriors would cut the Cavs lead down to one point with 2:45 remaining in the game.

But the Cavs would hang on for dear life thanks to the unlikely heroics of Matthew Dellavedova, who scored 20 points in the game but frankly just outhustled most of his peers, diving for loose balls and throwing his body in the way of Golden State players. They would hang on to victory from the free throw line down the stretch, and despite Golden State's best efforts, they would just run out of time. Lebron James finished with 40 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, and four steals, while Tristan Thompson added 10 points and 13 rebounds. Andre Iguodala scored 15 points in this game for Golden State, and David Lee, who hasn't seen much action this postseason, nearly brought the Warriors back with 11 points off the bench. Klay Thompson would add 14 points.

Cleveland leads series 2-1.

Golden State scored 110 PPG in the regular season, and 103 PPG in the playoffs.

It is averaging about 97 PPG in the Finals against a shorthanded team missing 2 All-Stars and 3 starters total due to injury.

I still say GS figures them out. But they don't seem ready for the moment. Having LBJ there gives the rest of the Cavs a lot of confidence. They really have nothing to lose.

@UptownNY & Graycap.....Do you guys think screwjobs only happen in pro wrestling?!? lol

LeBron James is basically the John Cena of pro basketball right now! Stephen Curry has been typecast as the Daniel Bryan/Dolph Zigger archtype in a sense that he is the little guy you want to see succeed in a land of giants which is the NBA except someone OR something is keeping the little guy back from succeeding in taking the torch from the current face of the NBA, which is LeBron.

And you know the NBA is thinking about the international market all the time. The Cavs' logo is NOT world renown like the Lakers' or Celtics'. But the name, LeBron James, is equally known "brand" worldwide as Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant (yes, I humble myself to say that name!).

The NBA Finals

Game 4

Golden State Warriors 103 Cleveland Cavaliers 82

The Golden State Warriors were facing some true adversity for only the second time this season and knew they absolutely had to win tonight's game or else face possible elimination in their next game against the greatest basketball player on the planet. However, they did have the experience of coming from behind in their conference semifinals against Memphis, and they also had the best road record of any team in the NBA this season. Neverthless, coach Steve Kerr made a strategic decision to pull Andrew Bogut from the starting lineup and replace him with Andre Iguodala.

The Cavs would come out strong, though, scoring the first seven points of the game and sending the Warriors reeling. But Golden State would regroup, and they found both their offense and their defense. Andre Iguodala would play a massive role in this game, scoring an NBA Finals high of 22 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Draymond Green would also have a monster game, scoring 17 points, grabbing seven rebounds, and dishing out six assists. Harrison Barmes also played big in this game, scoring 14 points and grabbing eight rebounds, and David Lee once again played admirably off the bench, scoring nine points and grabbing five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Timofey Mozgov led the Cavs with 28 points and 10 rebounds, but Lebron James would struggle in this game, scoring only 20 points on 7 for 22 shooting from the floor, though he did nearly have another triple double with 12 rebounds and eight assists. But J.R. Smith struggled mightily, scoring only four points on 2 for 12 shooting from the floor. Though none of the players are likely to make any excuses for their poor play, fatigue may have set in for the depleted Cavs roster.

Stephen Curry had what was a pedestrian game for him, scoring 22 points and dishing out six assists. The series now returns to the Bay Area as a best of three series for the NBA Championship.

Series tied at 2-2.
