Without missing a beat, Michael said, ‘You don’t understand--if I’m not there to receive these ideas, God might give them to Prince.’

lol I would love to see him saying that.

My subscriber issue should arrive no later than this Friday. Alas, it took his demise for Entertainment Weekly to give him something other than a scandalous cover story, like they've published before.

He's actually had two (or five covers if you count the four different EW covers following news of his death) this year.

Indeed, but the covers and articles were done posthumously, which underscores the point I made about the mag's history with regard to MJ.

That's a comical quote, but it does illustrate Michael considered Prince a formidable rival in music.

He usually wore clips/pieces 1984-97 maybe .. 2002-2009 were wigs (excluding TII rehearsals which he wore clips/pieces). That's what I think

do you think he whore those pieces only on the wound from his burning accident or because he had thin hair in general?

No, they were because of the Pepsi incident. If you look at early 70's photos of MJ, you'll see he has very thick hair. Also, naturally with age, you begin to lose your hair and your hair thins, so thinning hair does play a part also, but about 80% of it was because of the 1984 Pepsi incident

nod Michael did look good there. Eddie was looking fine himself love

1989 Soul Train Awards, still have that on VHS from when it first aired. Great show, Patti, Luther and Dionne hosted the show. In tribute to Michael, Patti performed I Just Can't Stop Loving You and received a standing ovation, while Dionne sung a boring ass rendition of Man in the Mirror lol I remember all of the adults in the house were like "she coulda kept that." New Edition opened up with Rob Base, Bobby performed his solo stuff, Whitney got boo'd and Anita was the queen of the night. I miss when award shows was this good with that kind of great lineup of talent.
I've lost the use of my heart, But I'm still alive, Still looking for the life, The endless pool on the other side, It's a wild wild west, I'm doing my best, I'm a soldier of love, Every day and night, I'm soldier of love, All the days of my life.

This week's cover: An exclusive first look at the new Michael Jackson movie

When tickets for Michael Jackson’s This Is It went on sale on Sept. 27, hundreds of shows around the globe sold out in less than 24 hours, without anyone knowing quite what it even was — a concert movie? A documentary? “It’s somewhere in between,” says Sony Pictures co-chair Amy Pascal of the film, which consists of behind-the-scenes footage of Jackson rehearsing for his planned comeback concerts at London’s O2 arena. “It’s a movie about rehearsing for a concert that never happened. It’s heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time. It gives you chills.”

Now, with the October 28th worldwide release of the movie fast approaching, the late pop star’s collaborators open up about working with Jackson during his precarious last days. At age 50 Jackson hadn’t toured in more than a decade, but while his team worried at times about his health, his imagination was as active as ever.

In fact, as the production got under way, it quickly became clear that Jackson’s creative ambitions for the concerts were beyond anything he’d ever attempted. With the budget already past $24 million, Jackson told his team he wanted to recreate one of the world’s largest waterfalls — Victoria Falls in southern Africa — on the stage. “I was ready to jump off the balcony of my office,” says Randy Phillips, president of the concert promotion firm AEG Live. “We went and met with Michael, and [director] Kenny [Ortega] said, ‘Michael, you’ve got to stop. We’ve got an incredible show, we don’t need any more vignettes.’ Michael said, ‘But Kenny, God channels this through me at night. I can’t sleep because I’m so supercharged.’ Kenny said, ‘But Michael, we have to finish. Can’t God take a vacation?’ Without missing a beat, Michael said, ‘You don’t understand — if I’m not there to receive these ideas, God might give them to Prince.’ ”

Now that's respect (and funny as hell).....You gotta love how the greats give it up for each other....It was also cool to read Prince's touching words about MJ's death during his concert run in Paris this week....Wow...
