I thought the same thing but then Marrk in the AMA thread mentioned that the AMAs are based on sales and airplay so it makes sense then. I haven't watched the AMAs in so long I didn't know what they were based on other than popularity. I'm trying to recall when was the last time Michael was nominated for an AMA?

I admit I'm curious if the Grammy's will do a tribute. Since they used to be about quality it would be fitting but these days, I don't know what they're up to.

He'll get a grammy. Can't believe he didn't get a lifetime one while he was here. I don't think the Grammy Legend award he got is the same.

Very true, .....

Oh have you seen MJ guitar player video clip .....man she bad ....she's amazing

here : http://www.drfunkenberry....ag/prince/

Here is Orianthi, who was to be Michael Jackson’s guitar player on the “This Is It” tour. The 24 year old guitarist and singer hails from Australia.

She has played guitar with Carlos Santana, Steve Vai, ZZ Top and Prince I am told. She also recently backed up Carrie Underwood.

So what do you think of this female guitarist?-Dr.FB cool cool

Paul Anka Happy to Get Credit for New Michael Jackson Single
OCtober 2009

The singer-songwriter responsible for Johnny Carson's Tonight show theme and Frank Sinatra's "My Way" has been recognized for co-writing one of the year's most anticipated new songs, Michael Jackson's "This Is It."

Hours after the song's release, Paul Anka recognized it as one he co-wrote with Jackson — though no one had contacted him about it, and he hadn't received credit. He notified the Jackson estate, which agreed within just a few hours to give him 50 percent of the song's profits.

Then Anka and one of Jackson's executors realized Jackson recorded another Anka song, too.

"It's an incredible back story. You know, obviously, a mistake was made. It's all ended well," Anka told TVGuide.com in a telephone interview from his home Tuesday. "They were solid citizens about it."

The 68-year-old former teen idol said he's especially happy the issue was resolved in "record time by Hollywood standards."

Anka said he and Jackson co-wrote the song in 1983 for an album Anka was working on, but the two had a falling out. (Singer Sa-Fire recorded a version of the song, with the title "I Never Heard," in 1991.)

"This Is It" was released at midnight Sunday. On Monday, fans thought they heard similarities, and bloggers and reporters quickly picked up on them.

When Anka heard the song, "I said, 'There are no similarities, it's the same damn song.'"

He said he was happy Jackson's estate agreed. John McClain, a record executive who's also an executor of Jackson's estate, played him some other songs from Jackson's 26-year-old tapes, one of which made Anka blurt out: "That's mine, too."

It's titled Love Never Felt So Good, and there are plans to put it on the next release of Jackson songs, said Anka, who was left laughing at the discovery.

The little hairs on the back of Paul's neck must've stood right up when he heard the songs they played for him. That's amazing, I'm happy it's all worked out and he's getting credit for his work with Michael.
I've lost the use of my heart, But I'm still alive, Still looking for the life, The endless pool on the other side, It's a wild wild west, I'm doing my best, I'm a soldier of love, Every day and night, I'm soldier of love, All the days of my life.

Michael Jackson’s Kids: Reality Show Bound

The latest Jackson family drama centers on the inclusion of the late Michael Jackson’s kids in an upcoming reality show about the showbiz family.

According to a report, Prince Michael, Paris, and Blanket are scheduled to be filmed for the reality TV special series “The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty” to air beginning in December.

But sister Rebbie Jackson (59) says it’s the last thing her brother would have wanted. “I feel Michael would spin in his grave if he knew his kids would be on this show.”

On the other side of the coin, executive producer Jodi Gomes explained, “We have 23 cast members with the last name Jackson. They’ve done a great job opening up about losing a brother.”

We already know The Jacksons were filming for the show, but how do you guys feel about the kids being in it? I don't really see a problem with it. Michael put his kids on tv a few times (with their masks on of course), but it comes a point in time when they're not going to want a mask on their face anymore

No they're not gonna be on the show. Katherine and MJ's people wouldn't allow it anyway.

SAY IT AIN’T SO, JOE: Fashion Designer Bian Variani, in collaboration with LVH magazine, Brenden Theatres and Seven&Company, is offering a $3,000 “Platinum VIP” package culminating in a screening of This Is It in Vegas on Oct. 27. It’s highlighted (if you will) by a “private dinner with Mr. Joseph Jackson,” who will pose for photos and autograph copies of his book, Joseph Jackson: Man in the Mirror, Father of the First Family of Music, which will be handed out as part of the package. The hotel’s comped as well. After the film, Joe will “thank the viewers and the fans for watching his son’s movie with him,” and host an opening night party at Palms Casino Resort’s Moon nightclub, featuring, of course, the music of Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians. Nice segway Mookie. It made me chuckle. lol
However, when I really think about it - it makes me a little pissed off.
I realize everyone has the right to make a living, but at what point are
you truly exploiting your son? Didn't Joe (and to some extent, some of
Michael's family, do that enough during his lifetime?) Apparently not.

I keep hoping Michael's kids turn out to be mature, responsible,
well adjusted adults who can show how good of a parent Michael was.
That will be the best legacy MJ can have, even better than all the
b-sides and demos from the vault.

The answer is simple.....Because he sold millions of records after his death...millions....it was crazy.

when he was alive, nobody did give a fuck especially in the states, i don't know why you guys find this so hard to believe, its not science rocket, you don’t have to release a record to be nominated , but the thing is that something horrible happened that let people buy Mj’s records like crazy, the horrible thing was :His death.

I am so tired of reading about how people in USA turned their backs on Michael Jackson. I didn't and i know alot of people who didn't either. on forum boards it seems the rest of the world blame USA for everything. and put down Americans in reguards to MJ I can't see how people in the States have to be blamed like this, just because of media and assholes named Tom. Don't the rest of the world realize just how very very competitive it is for artists of all types in America. I mean that is where the majority of 'super stars come from.. USA. I just needed to get that off my chest. I've always loved Michael Jackson. I wish I didn't have to be blamed because i'm American. end rant.

NO…that was a misconception

Chicago 1945 …..alternative title is ( Chicago nights ) written and composed by Michael Jackson and Steve Porcaro (the same man who wrote Human nature) .Chicago 1945 is a completely different song ,its one of the several joints that was written with steve porcaro but remained unreleased

al Capone is the demo of smooth criminal…..

Plus, if you notice that chicago1945 has been re-worked and re-recorded again during the Invinicble sessions but with a different producer (Rodney Jerkins) , you know that Mj is not gonna re-record (al capone) smooth criminal again, its already released and global hit.

Cool, thanks for clearing that up. I look forward to hearing both "Chicago 1945" and "Al Capone" someday.
