you would give me some unreleased songs if you have the chance ...would you? or you would keep them to yourself? I don't have a problem as long as you share lol

There would be a new Michael Jackson album either 6 months to a year if I was in charge

Have you seen my ideas: The Michael Jackson section in store would be packed

FIRST, I'd re-release Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad, Dangerous, HIStory, Blood On The Dancefloor, and Invincible one more time to get proper remastering and new packaging like the recent Japanese paper sleeve releases

Off The Wall would have the original mixes, the demos from the 2001 Special Edition, Sunset Driver, and the single mixes AND more unreleased tracks

Thriller would have all the demos, unreleased songs, new packaging.....the works

Bad would have the original 1987 mixes, single mixes, unreleased tracks, demos

Dangerous.....I'm still working on lol

HIStory would only come with "HIStory Continues", and 8 unreleased tracks

BOTDF.....same

Invincible....it would a completely different album lol

THEN I'd release a remix album that didn't suck lol

then release a 4 CD set of unreleased material

then BAD TOUR DVD cool

i wish u worked for sony, u should write them. or michael estate. i know easier said thean done confused

All they hire is nerdy MBA's, they don't hire music fans. Because if that was the case, me, him, you and some others would've BEEN on there doing what Motown does for Marvin, lol

I read somewhere that MJ was planning to release this several times.

He, Prince, and Stevie are known for doing that: working on songs for years until they're just right

Let's go down the list

-Wanna Be Startin' Somethin': written and demoed during the 1978-1979 Off The Wall sessions but held it back from Quincy because he didn't feel comfortable about it yet. Even after he did during the Thriller sessions, and released and being a hit single AND being a staple in his live show, he still was disappointed in it

-Dirty Diana: written and demoed in 1983 THEN again in 1984 THEN again in 1985 along with Speed Demon, The Way You Make Me Feel, and Smooth Criminal. Recorded the final version in either late 1986 or early 1987

-Another Part Of Me: written and recorded in early 1985 for Captain EO then remixed for Bad in 1986

-Liberian Girl: written and demoed in 1983 for Victory then held back for Bad

-For All Time: demoed for Thriller then redone over the years and then recorded in 1990 for Dangerous but left off the album, added some more vocals for Thriller 25

-Little Susie: written and demoed in 1979, done in 1989 for the Decade project then re-recorded in 1994 for HIStory

-Earth Song, They Don't Care About Us, Blood On The Dancefloor, and Superfly Sister are all from the 1989-1991 Dangerous sessions. (Earth Song was supposed to have Shirley Ceasar featured)

I remember you saying Dirty Diana was recorded in 83. How do you know this (I just LOVE ur friggin info! lol) I wonder what did it sound like because I know the beat was probably different. Damn, we need to get our hands on 1978-1985 demos!

Also, was the original demo to "earth song" re-recorded? Only real difference i notice is the hook and the falsetto. everything else sounds the same.

What about "Black or White"? That was done during the Bad session right? The vocals on that is the actual scratch vocals from 87?

Michael Jackson's 'This Is It': A Glossy, Finger-Snap-Enhanced Ballad, But Where's The Groove?
by Todd Martens
October 12, 2009

The last Michael Jackson album was released in 2001. Yet with the singer's passing this summer, it's a safe bet that one will not have to go years before hearing a bounty of as-yet-unheard Jackson songs again. The music industry is more than adept at exploring an artist's unreleased back catalog, and the first of what promises to be an onslaught of posthumous releases from the star hit the Web late Sunday/early Monday.

Few details were released on "This Is It," but the song bears the same name as what would have been Jackson's comeback concerts at London's 02 Arena this year. It will now serve as the title track to the concert film and accompanying album.

The film arrives for a limited two-week run on Oct. 28, and the album will be released in North America on Oct. 27.

There's been little information as to what exactly lies in the Jackson vaults, although it's been reported and speculated that enough material for multiple albums exists.

Though officially released as a single, and carrying backing vocals from Jackson's brothers, "This Is It," at least, sounds like a demo. Jackson's initial count-off feels raw and distant, but this isn't an intimate peek at the singer in the studio.

An orchestra sweeps in and brushes the song into the safe and comfortable territory of many of the slower songs on 2001's "Invincible." Yet though Jackson's voice sounds crisp, the lushness of the "Invincible" ballads is lost. It saves "This Is It" from some of the latter's schmaltz, but doesn't help its repetitiveness. Elastic, slow-dance guitar notes fill the spaces between the finger-snaps, but if the song sways, it never quite hits a groove.

"I'm the light of the world, this is real," Jackson sings to a generic lover, and the backing "oohs" ensure the sentiment goes down easy.

But it's a trifle, and while it's one that certainly won't embarrass Jackson's legacy or break the hearts of fans eager to hear Jackson's voice again, it does bring the fallen pop icon a little back down to earth.

Okay, so I have a copy of the CD Promo

This Is It (Album Version) 3:36
This Is It (Orchestra Version) 3:41
This Is It (Orchestra Extended Version) 4:40

They're all the SAME song. Orchestra version just has strings and what not (What a waste) and the Orchestra extended version has an added line at the end sung by the Jacksons and a longer ending. Long story short, you only need ONE version and that would be the Orchestra extended version. The other 2 are a waste

Back when I was a sophmore in HS (in 2003-2004), I was compiling a list of unreleased tracks after seeing certain songs labeled from this period or that period, so I took the "Unreleased Songs" list from Moonwalker.jp, and started reorganizing it. One of the best discoveries I made while doing this was the US Copyright Office website, there I found LOADS of unreleased songs and dates when they were recorded,

For awhile people thought songs like Thank You For Life and What A Lonely Way To Go when they actually were demoed between 1973-1976 among other songs

a couple of months ago when I was helping out on the expanded edition of For The Record, I remembered that I NEVER checked for the songs that were released, so I did, and found Dirty Diana was done around the time Michael was promoting Thriller. The US Copyright Office has a tape from 1985 with early versions of The Way You Make Me Feel, Smooth Criminal, Speed Demon, the 1985 demo of Dirty Diana, and songs like Tomboy and The Price of Fame in their database

Yes, the way he counts at the beginning, and his singing sounds like this is an outtake from Triumph. And his adult voice doesn't sound as matured as it would have if this had been recorded in '89 or '90.

comfort

I can´t even imagine my reactions to the film, cause I have been feeling OK recently. Not heart-broken as the first one or two months after his death. But just yesterday I watched the Untold Story of Neverland and I totally broke down when at the end, they said that he died of cardiac arrest on 25th....I just lost it. I am just totally not thinking about his death anymore but when I realize it, it hurts as much as it did the second I found out about it.

Anyway, love the new song. I was never that crazy about that Safire´s version, but Mike´s so cool. I´ll miss you forever, Mike.

comfort I felt same way..

can i watch that on youtube?..or somewhere..?
