I don't understand why she can never put together a sensible itinerary.Everytime she goes on tour, she skips major markets, making it very difficult for many fans to see her I feel especially bad for the Australian fans. She recently hinted that she would play there and now she's ignoring those fans once again.I can understand the frustration.

Could it be the curse of the HBO special? I wasn't aware that she skipped Aus so often...but her "Girlie Show Down Under" special was taped there....Her "Drowned World" show was from guess where...that other place she has not played since! I was there (in the cheap seat but in the center).

YAY I live in Cardiff where the tour starts and I can't wait.
Trying to decide whether to get regular tickets or Gold Circle. If Gold Circle is a pitch scramble I think I will do what I did last time and get the cheap seats where I got an ace view of the stage. Following the Prince 21 nights at the 02 I am done with expensive tickets! Can't wait Lisa Have you had your + signs today?

Touring is a grueling endeavor; I'm amazed that artists go out for as long as they do. Trust me: if she could bear being out longer and it were financially worthwhile, she'd be there in a flash. Springsteen does a 14-month tour every two years or so and his Australian fans also complain that he rarely gets there.

I understand that, but I just think she could be a little more accomodating.I mean, she hasn't played Australia since 1993! It won't kill her to schedule two dates Down Under. Also, she skipped Detroit (her hometown!!) on the last two tours. That's inexcusable.

Madonna, you certainly don't care about your world fans... Sadly,I agree with you. It's even more frustrating when you consider that she's doing two shows in Dubai (!!) for a whopping $25 million.I guess she has no trouble going to the places that pay the most

Madonna normally tours with three stages so one is up one is in the process of being taken down and a third is being set up in the various locations the show is going. each venue only has certain dates and than you have to coordinate dates with various venues. than all of that has to be packed up and flown across oceans. i'm sure the logostics of such an event are mindboggling. Than you have Madonna's demands of not being on the road for more than 6 months and you have situations like we have. She's doing the best she can but sometiems schedules just don't match. edit that Madonna considers NY more her hometown than Detorit. For most artists, playing Australia is financially unattractive. Also, she skipped Detroit (her hometown!!) on the last two tours. That's inexcusable.
If she were actually born and/or raised in Detroit, she'd probably be more into playing there. Agree with ehuffnsd's contention that she probably views NYC more as her "hometown" than the Motor City.

Why? She's still gonna charge outrageous prices for tickets. She'll still get paid I don't see how any one area could be "financially unattractive" for her. Why would she want to make less money? I bet that,if an Australian concert promoter were to offer her $20 million to play two shows there, she would suddenly add Australia to her itinerary I guess we shouldn't be too surprised. In 1985,she warned us that she is a "material girl",lol.
