It's easy for you to be cavalier about it, but it actually means something to someone who's never seen her.

to my knowledge cam has seen her.

Oh I haven't seen her. She's the person I want to see in concert the most, now that I got Prince out of the way and that's why I understand why VC's pissed.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Suffice to say I'm running out of patience and respect for Janet.

eek Wow, that's one of the last things I'd expect to hear you say about Janet but I totally understand where you are coming from. Give it some time and see what Janet does or doesn't do before giving up on her.

If I'd seen her live already, I probably wouldn't feel this way.

Given that Madonna has trumped Janet by releasing her tour dates AND is touring at the same time as Janet was supposed to in the US, I honestly don't see how this tour can realistically proceed. One thing's for sure: It feels a lot like the last two times around the block.

All I know is that you do NOT promise things to your fans over and over again and not follow through. That's taking them for granted. I am preparing myself for the worst, and should that happen, I really wish Janet would simply come out and say "I'm not touring" so we don't have to waste our time wondering when things will be announced, finally giving up hope at the beginning of July or so when we find out she's shooting another movie instead. We all know Janet's M.O.

Tickets for All For You went on sale 4/28/01, 4 days after the album's release. When it's going to happen, it HAPPENS.

Truth be told, yeah it isn't looking good for Janet in the touring dept. but hey, I gave up on Janet when the year began and by the end of February I was turned out by Feedback and I wound up digging Discipline so if Janet could do something to bring me back, I'm sure she'll come back and do something to raise your spirits. biggrin Hopefully, she will surprise us and announce some dates, Madonna be damned

The Material Girl -- um, mom? -- has never struck us as a Major League baseball kinda gal, but no matter: Madonna is confirmed to bring her "Sweet & Sticky" concert tour here for a Nov. 4 show at downtown San Diego's Petco Park. (Since she is a mother of three now, we can only assme the "Sweet & Sticky" tour title refers to, um, her love of cinnamon buns and other pastries.)

The Petco date is in support of her new "Hard Candy" album. It will be her first San Diego appearance since 1985, when she performed a pair of sold-out concerts at the SDSU Open Air Theater. The opening act for those shows, incidentally was a young rap trio called the Beastie Boys. No word yet on who -- if anyone -- will open her upcoming show here, which will be the first pop concert at Petco since the Rolling Stones performed at the ballpark in late 2005.

According to Madonna's Web site, ticket prices and on-sale dates have yet to be determined for any of the shows on her upcoming tour, which begins Oct. 3 in New Jersey and concludes Nov. 26 in Miami. Members of her Icon fan club will have first crack at tickets, whenever they do go on sale.

I'm pretty sure Janet's tour will at least play Michigan. Janet toured her AFY album the same time Madonna decided to do her first tour in many years and they both did fine.

I'm pretty sure Janet's tour will not be fucking happening! lol

Well, according to a recent interview with New York Times Syndicate the tour is still on, just be patient:

Jackson will be putting herself out to be looked at this fall when she launches a world tour in support of “Discipline.” The tour, which Jackson promises will be “big, it’s always been big,” will kick off in North America in mid-September and move on to territories such as Australia, Asia, Africa and Europe.

“It’s been seven years,” Jackson says, “and I have missed it. It means a great deal to me. When I’m creating music or singing the music (in the studio), I think about the stage performance. I think about the tour. The idea starts that early on for me.

“And I love being able to see the sea of faces, to have that connection, to feel that love,” she says. “That’s exciting for me.”

No, no, no, no. You NEVER believe a Jackson. Janet even stated during the Damita Jo era that the tour would start on September 18th, 2004. She's talked about touring endlessly for the past 6 years.

Madonna plays my area on a Saturday lol And I know she's gonna add a few more dates...probably for Friday and Sunday too! I'm gonna have a sticky and sweet weekend!!

As for Janet....she needs to stop playing around and announce her tourdates NOW.Give the fans something to get excited about!! It's pretty sad when her fans have to go to Ticketmaster and look for tourdates on their own.....with no news or confirmation from the artist themselves!
If her tour truly begins in September,it's time tto announce it and prepare the ticket sales.

i hope you get the chance to see her. and yes i'm jaded about her shows.

I love Janet (hence my name), however though her shows are good, if you've seen one you've seen them all. I am always surprised that fans haven't "called" her on most of her tours being so similar. If she tours, I more than likely will not go because I've already seen the show.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

and she has the habit of excluding songs and doing shorter shows in smaller markets. i'd wait for reviews before i bough a ticket this time.

the biggest surprise: Madonna is playing Houston,Texas lol We all know how she feels about Texas, lol. The last time she played there was in 1990 on the "Blonde Ambition tour".

If you don't like my attitude, then you can F off
just go to Texas...isn't that where they golf?

lol

OOOOOHHHHH MY GOOOOODNESS!!!!!

She is FINALLY coming back to Texas after 18 years! I have actually been on a personal boycott of Madonna until she returned to Texas. For someone who is "openminded", I found it interesting that she could think that everyone in the second most populous state were the same. In Texas there can be a world of difference between the cities and areas outside of them.

When her last tour was announced and Texas was excluded, I emailed her publicist and mentioned that if Cher could sale out 4 shows in Houston, surely Madonna could sell out 1. Who knows, maybe that was a factor for this tour...she IS coming to Houston and not Dallas, Austin, or San Antonio razz .

I am just so glad she is finally returning. I wish I would have known before May 1 so I could have joined her fan club to get first dibs on tickets. Since Houston is her only Texas stop and considering she hasn't been to the state or the region in 18 years, those tickets are going to go fast from people from all over Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana .

Anyway, I can't wait and I will be right there screaming my bum off. I now have some CD's to purchase. biggrin

I'm glad you finally get to see her lol I think it's silly of her to avoid certain cities because she thinks the people are too conservative.Everyone is not the same, lol.

Okay,I want to revise/update my dream setlist lol Oh,it's still the same,I just added a few comments to describe what I have in mind.Let me know what you guys think...

MADONNA 'STICKY AND SWEET' WORLD TOUR 2008

*ACT 1---
Candy Shop---a long,extended,over-the-top version complete with a call and response segment..."My sugar is WHAT?? (crowd: sticky and sweet!!),"My sugar is WHAT?? (crowd: sticky and sweet!!)....you know, have some fun with this song!

Give It To Me

Dress You Up---a really fun,disco-y version.

Dance 2Night---this performance should be some kind of throwback to her early 80s New York nightclubbing days. The song definitely sounds like that era.

Incredible (instrumental version) dance sequence---Madonna is offstage changing clothes for Act 2.Her dancers perform a routine to the second part of this song. You know....the electro/synth part, only it's an instrumental,no lyrics at all.

*ACT 2---

Deeper And Deeper---Not the slow, jazzy version we heard on the Re-Invention tour.A really fast,disco-y version with an updated arrangement,so that it doesn't sound like 1992.

Justify My Love---a funky,R&B version of this song

Secret

To Have And Not To Hold---Madonna picks up a guitar, sits on a stool, and does a mindblowing acoustic version, which leads into...

Miles Away---another acoustic performance, with the audience singing along during the breakdown part. Now it's time to liven things up again....

She's Not Me---a lively, campy, funny, outrageous performance of this song

*ACT 3---

Hung Up---Madonna plays guitar on this rock version.

Angel---Still playing guitar,Madonna plays a "lite rock" vertsion of this song.

Borderline

Like A Prayer---a powerful, urgent version of this track. This is the "serious" part of the show where things get spiritual, which leads into....

Devil Wouldn't Recognize You---a very scary, haunting performance of this track (remember "Mer Girl" on the Drowned World Tour? The vibe is similar to that). The dancers "act" out the lyrics and it's all very eerie and thought-provoking...some would say controversial.

Video interlude: Voices---a new video for this song

*ACT 4---

4 Minutes---Just like in the video,we see the gigantic clock in the background, ticking away as Madonna dances and sings the song.Justin and Timbaland appear in a video screen. At the end of the song, everything explodes, signaling the end of the world.Or is it?

Causing A Commotion---Nope,the world didn't end so the party continues.Only a brief part of this song is performed (chorus and first verse, then chorus),before leading into....

Heartbeat

Into The Groove

Beat Goes On---We see Pharrell and Kanye on the video screens. This is a spirited finale/encore.

At the least, the 19th will be added, as well. There were three shows here last time and she could have easily sold out many more.
