I agree with your comment about "Like A Prayer"...either do it right or not at all! I was disappointed with the flat version she performed on the Re-Invention Tour. She needs to do a powerful version that has the same energy and urgency as the album version.

"True Blue",huh? lol I think this song would work well if she did a girl-group segment with her and the backup singers.Maybe they could perform "True Blue" as part of a medley with "Cherish" and "Angel"?

I always thought True Blue was one of her best meoldies - it was just too cutsie a song to fit in with the rest of her catalogue - but i guess your right, its kind of comparable to stuff like Cherish. I was thinking she could just work out an alternate version - something that alowed the melody to shine through.

Like A prayer is difficult because shes kind of performed the ultimate version of this on the Blond Ambition Tour - but i dont see why she cant give a similar performance. She could totally do an extended upbeat version - that would really get the crowd going. Judgeing by her reaction to it on BET, we likely wont be seeing this one - but i think its the one song of hers that pretty much everyone agrees is brilliant and wants to see. Its her Purple Rain almost.

"Cherish" and "True Blue" are her homages to 60s Motown. These songs have a 60s girl group-type of vibe.It would be cool if she could update these songs for the tour....come up with fresh arrangements.

I agree,"Like A Prayer" is really her "Purple Rain".She needs to come up with an explosive, knock 'em dead version.

Not bad thumbs up! I think "She's Not Me" has many possibilites for this tour. She could come up with a really hilarious, campy performance of this song...maybe even have her dancers dress up as Madonna lookalikes? lol It would be wild!

I see you added "Spanish Lesson" right next to "La Isla Bonita".I thought about that too.I can't imagine her performing one of those songs without the other. She'll link them together, like a medley.

"American Life"?! hmmm

good set list. though i'd move Hung Up before Miles Away since it appears she's going to be doing a rock mix of it.

I know. I would rather not take that into consideration and would hope for a dance/hip-hop show with a mostly ballads set (that ends with an upbeat track...or if she could make "Sorry" a ballad, that would rock. I think "Sorry" was not the hit off COADF but the signature track that gives a good feel for the entire thing.

Other songs that I think should be considered for this tour...

"Who's That Girl"---She hasn't performed this one in years. It's a fun little song that longtime fans would like to hear.

"Into The Groove"---Yeah she performed it on the Re-Invention Tour, but that version was ruined when she changed the lyrics slightly (she used some of the "Into The Hollywood Groove" lyrics, which sucks).

"Express Yourself"

"Keep It Together"---One of her best 'message songs',this is one that she should consider bringing out again.

"Rain"---could be part of the acoustic set

"Gone"---ditto

"Push"---She didn't perform this on the last tour. It's the most R&B-sounding song on the last album and I think it would work well with the new material.

Oooh I forgot about rain or Push - Id love to hear both of those. She at least needs to do one section of just singing. Push is a song I've always liked - in spite of some of the hate a lot of fans give it - but i couldn't believe she didnt perform it on the last tour.

I agree Keep It Together deserves another airing.....Damn she really does have too many songs - Im so glad she doesnt fall into the rut of just performing the same old tired setlists and routines. It really is quite impressive that she keeps coming up with entirely new shows every 2-3 years. I think this is what makes her able to command such high prices - you know youll always get something completely fresh & new done with the highest production values..

One of my favorite moments on the 'Girlie Show' tour is when she,Donna and Nikki sat on stools, singing "Rain".It was a simple yet performance....no props,no dancers.I'd like to see more moments like that. She really needs to utilize her backup singers more.I hardly saw them at all on the 'Confessions Tour'.

Push is a song I've always liked - in spite of some of the hate a lot of fans give it - but i couldn't believe she didnt perform it on the last tour.

"Push" is one of my favs from 'Confessions'.I especially like how she references "Genuis Of Love",the 1982 Tom Tom Club hit.

She has an amazing catalog with so many great songs to choose from.Unlike many other longtime artists, she doesn't do the same, predictable greatest hits setlist on every tour. She always comes up with a fresh setlist and new arrangements. The songs are always presented in a new way, too. Can't wait to see the new concepts and themes she comes up with for the new tour.

"Who's That Girl" would be awesome to see live again after ignoring it for 20 years! If she brings that one back, good chance it will appear on the boxed set or Greatest hits that fills out of her contract.

BREAKING NEWS: MADONNA'S 'STICKY AND SWEET TOUR' TO BE ANNOUNCED TODAY (MAY 8)

Madonna's upcoming tour will begin Aug.23 in Cardiff,Wales, and will include between 50-60 shows total,Billboard.com has learned.Details of the tour, produced globally by Live Nation, will be announced later today (May 8).Billed as the "Sticky and Sweet Tour",Madonna's tour in support of her current chart-topping Warner Bros. release "Hard Candy"-which debuted atop the Billboard 200 yesterday-will play stadiums in the U.K. and Europe until the end of September, arenas and a "handful" of stadiums in 16 markets in North America in October and November, and then stadiums in Mexico and South America late November-December."I'm thrilled to be involved in another worldwide Madonna extravaganza," Arthur Fogel, chairman of global music for Live Nation, tells Billboard.com.Fogel has helmed Madonna's last three world tours, which grossed almost $400 million combined. Her 2006 Confessions tour is,at $194 million, the top-grossing tour ever by a female artist. The upcoming tour is the first major manifestation of the multi-faceted 10-year deal between Madonna and Live Nation, valued in published reports at $120 million."The reality is she's delivered her last album to Warner Bros.,and it's a smash, which is great for everybody," Fogel says."We now have a tremendous opportunity with a tremendous artist to do all kinds of new and innovative things on many levels, and this tour will be the start of that rollout." The tour follows a familiar Madonna touring blueprint in that it visits a limited number of markets in a four-month time frame, with multi-night stands in many cities.Ticket on sale details will be announced today, along with a presale through Live Nation's corporate sponsorship partner Citi.Fogel says ticket prices will be "basically the same as they've been the past two tours," which means primarily in the $55-350 range.

fit

I'm glad the tour has been announced, but...

All the presales are during my trip to Australia, I'll be wandering the outback mostly and won't have access to a computer! sad

I won't be able to take time off to see the first dates in Europe, even if I were inclined to travel that far from Japan. sad

Worse, I'll be attending a training course on the U.S. Gulf coast from Sep. 22 through Nov. 7, so I can't break away to any of THOSE U.S. dates! sad

Worst, at this moment I don't know where I'll be moving to after I finish school...if I'm unlucky I may be too far away to get to ANY show!! sad sad sad

cry I need a hug!!! bawl

On one of the forums that I visit, the Australian fans are PISSED.They've already set up an on-line petition to get Madonna to reconsider.More dates and venues will be announced in the coming days,so you may still have a shot.

I'm just glad that I live in an area that Madonna wouldn't dare skip lol

the biggest surprise: Madonna is playing Houston,Texas lol We all know how she feels about Texas, lol. The last time she played there was in 1990 on the "Blonde Ambition tour".

If you don't like my attitude, then you can F off
