You can probably blame today's ticket prices on The Eagles. They were the first act to charge $100/ticket, in 1994 (a substantial hike over the top price to that time). They set these prices, arguing that good seats were going for at least this much on the resale market. Once it was established that fans would pay this much at the box office (well, fans of older, mainstream acts, anyway), the sky became the limit.

Despite the uproar over Madonna getting in bed with StubHub, I think a compromise that would serve both artist and audience best would be to set face-value lower (e.g. $95 for the best seats, à la Springsteen) and then take a commission off StubHub/TicketsNow, etc. resales.

We can also blame Barbra Streisand.She went on tour in the mid-90s and the prices were around $600 for the best seats.That had never been done before.Madonna and the Rolling Stones soon realized that their fans obviously have alot of disposable income too.

Ticket sales for Madonna's highly anticipated Sticky & Sweet Tour continued to explode throughout Europe and North America, it was confirmed by the tour's producer, Live Nation.
The demand for tickets in Paris for Madonna's scheduled September 20th performance was so staggering that a second and final performance has just been announced for September 21st.
The Sticky & Sweet Zurich show at the Military Airfield Dubendorf scheduled for August 30th has just glided past the 70,000 mark as Madonna fans buy tickets in record breaking numbers for that show as well as in Vancouver, where Madonna's October 30th performance sold 50,000 tickets in a record breaking 29 minutes.
In addition, due to instant sellouts in Toronto at Air Canada Centre on October 18th and Montreal at the Bell Centre on October 22nd, second shows in both markets have been added - October 19th in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre and October 23 at Montreal’s Bell Centre.
These new sellout performances add to a list of sellouts that already include three sold out Madison Square Garden shows in New York City on October 6, 7 and 11 and sellouts in Boston and Chicago where a second show October 27th at the United Center will go on sale on June 2nd.
Additional Madonna shows on sale this weekend include: Los Angeles, San Diego, Houston, Miami, Las Vegas, Denver, Philadelphia, Atlanta and Atlantic City.

Congratulations! Maybe someday I'll get so hardcore I'll spend $350 for a ticket. But I'm actually more interested in taking in the show as a whole. Except last year, I really wanted to be up close when she came out of the disco ball and rode the backs of her dancers. It would be great to see her face etc. You'll have a GREAT time!

Before the pre-sale started,I was going to get the $165 seats.But something came over me once the sale started....I logged into ICON,got my passcode,got transferred to Ticketmaster and I clicked on "best available seat".When they showed me what they had,I couldn't resist Excellent seats in section 127.I had a similiar seat for the Drowned World Tour in 2001 (on the opposite side of the arena),and it was just incredible.I couldn't pass this up!

A second show will be announced and for that show,I'll get a cheaper seat.That is,if you think $165 is "cheap",lol.

Looks like she's been making alot of public appearances lately.Tour rehearsals began this week and will last for the next three months,so expect alot of the usual rumors and setlist speculation to start Should be an exciting summer.

These catwalks lead to several small mini-stages in the back of the arena. Some songs will actually be performed on the various stages,and not just the main stage (praying that "Miles Away" is performed only a few feet away from me,lol).

Madonna added a second show in my area and I got tickets for that show,too Good seats,too! In addition,my friend has an extra Vegas ticket,so I might go with her to that show too!! Still trying to decide.



I swear,it really pays to be a member of ICON.I got great seats through the pre-sales and I didn't have to pay some stupid scalper.From now on,this is how I'm gonna buy my Madonna tickets.

Madonna has added a fourth concert to her October Madison Square Garden appearance in New York City.

Madonna's "Sticky & Sweet" tour, previously scheduled to play NYC on Oct. 6, 7 and 11, will now play its final NYC show Oct. 12, according to a press release.

Tickets for the new show are available beginning June 13.
