Michael's 50th Birthday Album..ANOTHER HITS ALBUM!! WOO!!! Michael Jackson's 50th Birthday Album! Out August 29, 2008. Michael Jackson turns 50 on August 29 and Sony BMG Music Entertainment, are giving his Australian fans the chance to congratulate Michael and celebrate with him by choosing the track list for Michael's new Australian album release 'King Of Pop'. As of tomorrow, Saturday 21st June and for the next three weeks, fans will be able to go to www.mj50.com.au and vote for the tracks they want to appear on the 'King Of Pop' album - which will be released on Michael's 50th Birthday on August 29 2008. They can also leave Michael a birthday wish - a selection of which will be forever immortalized as part of the limited edition album artwork! Sony BMG Music Entertainment is proud to celebrate Michael's amazing career, with over 200 Million sales worldwide and over four million in Australia. What better way to celebrate this than with a new King Of Pop greatest hits package that uniquely has been voted for by his Australian fans. In the first Australian fan-driven album of its kind, King of Pop will contain the top 30 tracks chosen from Michael's Australian fans, plus rare tracks from Michael's career and a never before released track plus a brand new "MegaMix" from the legendary Jason Nevins. 'King Of Pop' will be released in two editions. The first is a limited edition digi-pak that will feature selected voters names and messages left by the fans on the www.mj50.com.au site and a special fold-out poster that follows Michael through his illustrious musical career. The second edition will be a standard release of the album without the poster. PRE-ORDER of 'King Of Pop' releases will be available soon at www.mjjshop.com Source: SonyBMG AUSTRALIA - MJJSHOP.COM ----- All I can say is.... I think his greatest hits albums outnumber his original album releases Even counting the Motown solo albums. Pretty pitiful. That being said, I like the idea that the fans can vote. Maybe it will end up being some obscure mix of HIStory Disc 2 and BOTDF. LOL MJ Fan 1992-Forever

Kylie Minogue has like 10. but than again she has more albums than Michael. Since he's released Invincilbe she's had 3 albums, Fever, Body Langauge, X, a greatest hits packate, Greatest Hits, 4 tours FEVER2002, Showgirl, Showgirl Homecoming, KYLIEX, a documentary, White Diamonds and had and beat Breast Cancer. What "rare" tracks - I bet this term is being used loosely. Megamix might be hot though.. Vanilli said: That being said, I like the idea that the fans can vote. Maybe it will end up being some obscure mix of HIStory Disc 2 and BOTDF. LOL

It would be better for them to put out a 2-CD set of unreleased material. Another plot to continue to rape MJ's back catalog.

I think NUMBER ONES was far too recent to need a new hits album.
If he had one new random hit since then, I would say, sure! Tack it on! That justifies it!

Why doesn't Mike just start hosting Tupperware parties? At least it's a different way to make money, rather than repackaging the same stuff over and again.

Let's all up to SonyBMG. Fans don't want this either "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

The font and color selection and "whole body" photo also reminds me of Number Ones.
Let's at least have fun with the design!

If SonyBMG wanted to do something cool, they should work with fans and have them as consultants on MJ projects
There are some MJ releases that should be re-released or released for the first time: Bad Tour in Wembley or Los Angeles Moonwalker Special Edition Making of Thriller Victory Tour in Los Angeles The Jacksons Deluxe Editions with bonus tracks and DVD 2CD set of unreleased material The ORIGINAL version of the Number Ones special A Live DVD compilation SonyBMG should contact me "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I'm actually amazed as much money that company makes that they can't do something that would benefit themselves, MJ and his fans. It's real sad when you think about it, lol.

Another greatest hits album ? Well damn it's about time! I mean it's only been a month since the last one and I was wondering what was taking so long to release another. Sony & MJ sure know what the fans want. Seriously, who needs new material anyway when you can own Billie Jean and Thriller on cd for the umpteenth time? I can't wait! It's gonna be Michaelmania all over again . "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ
"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always
