The Ball and Rebirth of the Flash seems to have a very good sound |

OK. That was the best episode so far. It blew last weeks episode out of the water. A fantastic selection of music.
I hope they don't skim over the Camille sessions next week. I'd love to hear more from Susan Rogers about the recording of those songs. [Edited 9/17/20 3:04am]

Is it me or does Rebirth.. sounds a bit muffled? Or did we already have the best version around? |

Listening on my headphones now to this podcast versus the bootleg version we all have, this version sounds definitely clearer. But the difference isn't a ton due to the fact the bootleg version is among one of the best sounding bootleg tracks we have in general so it isn't a huge difference, just a little improvement IMO |

The bootleg that's most faithful to the real sound is the complete master cassette of the Crystal Ball album that leaked in 2015. It sounds just like how it sounds in this podcast. The track is supposed to be bass heavy which is why some elements sounds muddy. Early boots like Satim's Camille album were more trebble heavy and makes the whole thing sounds a bit brighter. From memory I think Foefur's remaster sounds brighter too. |

thanks! i always thought the 'pounds' at the start of the song sounded a bit muffled on the bootlegs but then I heard it here on the podcast to, so it probably is supposed to be like that.

I think what you are hearing is intentional on the drums, the snare hit having a big echo. The actual fidelity of it is great, beyond the fact that this is a 128kps MP3 file with the podcast so data compression artifacts are present |

"He knew what his purpose in life was. And it was to be Prince." A great statement from Lisa right at the beginning of this episode. |

I interpreted Eric's comment as "they co-wrote 'In A Large...'". Because it was the same a few years ago with 'Power Fantastic', which was said to be written by Lisa (which then meant, she came up with the basic idea and Prince finished it). |

it was an interesting episode... nice to hear some other voices now. But somewhat forgettable, somehow. I relistened it immediately to see if I missed something. Hope it'll pick up again, but the first two floored me, the two after that, not so much. Paisley Park is in your heart - Love Is Here! |
