. it's bittersweet that it took the death of Prince for us to get proper deluxe versions of some of his albums. It shows the problem with being a Prince fan. Every marvelous part was always accompanied by perplexing and frustrating parts. It's something I long ago accepted. Prince did things his way, without regard for anyone understanding why he did things, or even without having "good" reasons for it. . I remember the day Prince died. After the unbelieve was gone and the shock settled in, I did think that this finally did open up the possibility of vault tracks being released. I was looking for a silver lining, and this is the only one. Shame the estate seems to be operating in much the same way that Prince was with regards to making frustrating decisions though. In the context of the PC-things that even WB does, would they replace The Cross with the Stauros rerecording? (if that exists?) Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Because the estate has been known to censor and literally alter the orgiginal album config and versions? Sounds like some people are still salty about Lust U Always on 1999 lol

. The whole way things are done stinks. This is not to complain about the proper mastering engineers, etc, but the various issus surroundging each release. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

For this SOTT release? I dunno I think it looks amazing personally, and the released tracks are of fantastic quality thus far. I can see if personal preferences mean some people aren't happy with the presentation of the material versus what they ideally personally wanted, but the Estate was never gonna literally censor a track from the original album lmao

You'll note that the Estate/WB has never released "new" material in some sort of altered state outside of a single release administered, in part, and creatively directed, in part, by TIDAL and, specifically, Jay-Z. It would not surprise me that the choices made with respect to altering the music on Originals to fit a certain genre came directly from that dubious third party. You'll note that P&M83, 1999 SDE, and what we know of SOTT SDE have no evidence of the same tampering. One could argue that PR Deluxe had a note of tampering on Our Destiny/Roadhouse Garden, but this release was produced by an entirely different creative team than the one responsible for the SDEs.

. 'Whole way', I was trying to imply the string of SDE releases.

No wonder he sued his fans, he's dead, and people are still bitching!

trickyjoe7777 said: At the risk of being accused of not doing the proper research, Love and Sex, is this a reworking of the vault track released on PR deluxe, A Prince version of the Sheila E track recorded around the same time as SOTT, something else entirely or are we all in the dark? [Edited 8/14/20 4:47am] I believe it's a Prince version of the Sheila e song

Wonder if any of you Amazon prime members can help me with this. I pre-ordered the SOTT set on Amazon a month ago and I wasn't a prime member at the time so I picked free shipping Now I decided to become a prime member so does that mean Amazon will ship my order with 2day shipping or do I need to cancel and re order the SOTT set so I can get it quickly?

. No experience with prime membership but perhaps Amazon will look at the membership status when stuff is sent out. Then you should be OK automagically. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

I can only speak for Amazon UK but I almost always get releases on the actual release day and that's with free non-Prime delivery Check out The Collector's Guide to Prince on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/p...4ldzxwlEuy

It just occured to me that since we are delving into the Camille era and finishing out the last unreleased track from that album, wouldn't it be great if we got a look at the Camille album cover art work, and maybe be able to get a nice digital album cover for our playlists.
Same goes for Dream Factory and the Crystal Ball versions. I'm already prepping my playlists on my devices.
