I have experiences this all. There is or was, feel free to PM, called TRH. BUT I PRORDERED THIS THIANG.

It's got the GRUNDMAN. GRUNDMAN IS AMAZING.

I didn't even look at the packaging for 1999 I just put it in, and then I went to the credits... It had to be GRUNDMAN. It was.

But this SOTT overpriced and I DO NOT CARE. $160? They shouldn't go beyond that for anything ever, but SOTT deserves it.

And I like that Bernie Grundman is all about the best result... Whether it's his jam or a job, He likes prog and 70s... But then again does anyone not like prince? No, not anyone who understands music. He got this opportunity and he is killing it.

Sadly purple rain needs another do over by Grundman.

I want 'them' to ask Bart to write future linernotes for Prince releases.

He can do a great job. The info would be 'correct'. There would be less fan idolatry and overuse of the words 'genius' and 'masterpiece'.

Imagine him writing for the SOTT SD release...

I'm pretty much convinced there would be no flaws or misspelling in there and the info would be useful.

.

I think this would be a great idea. I'm sure he could team up with Duane. I wonder what tone he would strike. But a book or liner notes by Bart about Prince's business decisions and opportunities, that would be something to read. Especially if some more research can be done in Prince's personal archive.

.

As a matter of fact a book series would be great.

.

Duane - for the music and recordings

Bart - for the business side of his career (lots of interviews with his managers)

??? - a series about performing, with a review of his faux-jagger moves at the start to the masking of hip pains and end, with lots of info about the stageshows in between. (extended Roy Bennet interviews)

everyone else - "my personal relation with Prince" and his relationships with women..

.

Don't you just love 'US' purple foolish idiots

in our own tiny little world of Princely idolatry ?

Most seem to act like some wonderful unhelpfully punctilious ant fuckers,

that keep firing up each other (me included) - knowing we all want the same; PRINCE'S MUSIC !

We all need to realise that native english speakers are certainly not the only ones here.

Like, I'm not an native english for example.

Those who are willing to understand the message accept these little (often unimportnat) type of shortcomings and accept them in peace.

Those who love to nail you, are mostly frustrated, evil teachers, possibly suffering from a huge dick or dry vagina, or just live a sad life in this valley of violet tears.

Nah, he's definitely compensating for something. No one remains that consistently beligerant and arrogant for that many years if they aren't trying to cover up for their own shortcomings.

If this release follows the promotion style of the previous deluxe editions, we might get a couple more singles before the release date, so maybe one in July and another in August?

Interesting - Amazon (.com & .ca, anyway) appear to have taken down the image that shows the book and all the discs. Now it's just two identical photos of the box...

I know. I'm an average sized French (1,74m) and I live in Berlin and even here I feel like a bloody dwarf. After a disastrous concert experience last fall I swore to myself I'll never attend a concert with more than 500 people anymore here, unless I buy platform shoes (which I'm seriously considering) because all I saw from that show was other people's heads sad If it's not a club and I can't easily be first row, there really is no point...

When Questlove leaked the track list, the numbering indicated there where 2 more track before the Shep Pettibone rmx. Seeing that the vinyl edition has a side with on that track, and the leaked Questlove tracklist makes me think it's that? Except, wait, it was about the Amazon listing, and those didn't change after the leak, except for price...hmmm, sorry, just thinking outloud. I do wish we could figure out what happend to those missing tracks. I'd guess they were the Razormaid remix of Housequake, and that "Joey Coco" remix of ICNTTPOYM...

The bloody Razormaid remix ain't even unreleased, I wonder why it's not there.

Not aware of the remix you mention. However, the mixe/b-sides CD misses HQ Razormaid as well as the BLBC version of Good Love (released before Lovesexy, therefore plain SOTT era) and that South African edit of Adore, and debatably the audio from the UGTL and ICNTTPOYM videos (not sure if they fade in or out by comparison to their movie conterparts, will have to check that out eventually).

Whether Power Fantastic 93 and Adore 93 should be there is debatable, but I guess they'll end-up on prince Deluxe lol

No, seriously, I didn't expect the mix/b-sides thing to be comprehensive since it wasn't on the last 2 deluxe releases. I know they xant the bloody thing to fit on one CD no matter what. So IDK, so far I'm not pissed by much about the release itself, just waiting to see what we'll get.

Interestingly, the Miles Davis' PBS documentary from some months ago contained a short (estate authorized) footage from the PP show, and that was some smart teaser for the release when it comes to MD fans nod

Sorry, thinking out loud too wink

That includes doing some effort when posting.

You and Bart keep making the same mistake.

Typing a question into forum post (so that you can aquire information through an interactive dialogue) requires just as much effort -- and is as intellectually valid -- as typing a question into Google (so that you can aquire information by reading a static response).

You guys talk down to people who post questions in a condescending tones, suggesting you have a sense of intellectual superiorty over them. Which is ironic since your position (that interactive learning doesnt' require effort) is prima facially illogical.

To anticipate your next objection: posting a question does not require anyone on the forum to do work. If you don't want to answer a question, you don't have to. There are plenty of people on the forum who like engaging in interactive dialogues and will be happy to response to those questions -- to them, it's not work -- it's the reason they joined the forum (to interact with people)!!!

MODS: If you delete this post again, you better delete Udo's as well. It makes no sense for you to allow Udo to state a position but not allow anyone an opportunity to rebut it.
