It's comforting to know that he was aware of the problem and seeking help.

This gives me hope that he passed very quickly. And peacefully. "I gave my love, I gave my life, I gave my body and mind..." - P
Thank you for the gifts - we will all meet again, dear Prince.

She talks enough to get herself mentioned in the NYT but not enough to really say anything. This makes me queasy.

That was a difficult read. Poor Judith, poor Prince. He hid his issues well it seems.

Im just glad someone decided to step up and say something.. it explains a lot .. I just hate he had to turn to such strong painkillers that were so dangerous that eventually killed him.. But if what she said was true..he recognized his problem and wasn't going to refuse any help, so you have to respect that.

Sobbing. That hurt to read. But at least we now have some answers.

Oh my gawd, something. So he did at least spend the night in Moline. Wasn't extremely combative. She tried, there is that.

This is more info about the immediate time around his death than has been shared by anyone in his circle so far. It certainly leaves many questions unanswered but it definitely helps add color around the plane OD. The whole thing is heartbreaking because according to her he really wanted to help himself.
I for one appreciate her willingness to talk about this publicly.

Although, it's pretty much exactly what we figured happened, it's nice that someone finally stepped-up & set the record straight. I feel bad for her; I can imagine what she's been going thru. .
. And this.

Finally, we get some real answers. Thank you for that, Ms. Hill. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

The Narcan shot ripped his tolerance for opiods out of his system completely. That's what it does. He was on borrowed time from that point forwards. So still in pain, he probably took a lower dose that was still too much for his system and he passes a week later. So fucking sad.

Feels like April 21 at around 1pm again. This hurts so bad. He wanted help. My poor Prince. Rest peacefully my hero. I love you.

Kirk knew. He's been "lawyered up" since almost the beginning.
Remember, the first Atlanta concert was scheduled for April 7th and was cancelled "due to the flu". That's when he first saw Kirk's Dr S. It sounds like he'd been weaned off the drugs for awhile, which is why he passed out in the plane.
Even more, I find it pitiful that he was left alone.

I found this article very sad and yet somewhat comforting. It was nice to hear someone inside Prince's inner circle talk honestly about what happened on the plane and give us a little bit of insight into what Prince was thinking and feeling just prior to his passing. I also find it comforting knowing his death was likely as sudden as his overdose on the plane That last part of the article was intensely moving too.

I feel really bad for her but reading what happened... that made me sick. He was trying. Good God. I really wish or hope he had someone he didn't feel he had to wear armour or put on a brave face for all the time, that can be taxing in and of itself but I'm not sure he let anyone really in. My mind goes back to that first MTV interview he did where he said he didn't build any cage around himself...in the end he was the caged dove.

Wow! Even though I agree she is saying alot without say anything that is frustrating. But sadly this is the most we have gotten in weeks. It sounds to me like she is admitting he knew he had a drug issue and was trying to seek help. So this poses more questions in my mind, what the heck happened on 4/20-4/21/16? I don't see if he had a close call like that using the same drugs that almost killed him just 6 days prior. Man, have more questions now. Unless the whole ordeal just wore his body out. And yet they found Fentanyl in his system wonder how long that stays in your system? Oh man, oh man. "A strong spirit transcends rules." - Prince

She's the only one to say anything since he died... and most of it is wrapped in press release. It's frustrating, and weird.

This is very comforting to hear some real news of what exactly happened. So glad she was with him and that he was dedicated to getting the help he needed. As others have stated very confusing why he would ever be left alone under such circumstances The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

People around him may not have known anything until he got sick on the plane. He was seeing his Dr for withdrawal treatment and may have already poisoned himself over time as this stuff has killed people who have Rxs for it.

Heartbreaking yes, but I am sure with the ongoing criminal investigation, she was being cautious on what was said. In addition, I think she is also in some ways respecting Prince's privacy by not giving specific details. I am getting the vide, mostly from the remarks that she said Prince made about the voices and getting into the body (paraphasing) that from this incident, Prince's time was coming. Regardless, his struggles does not diminish anything in my opinion. I still hold Prince in the highest regards. It was easy to forget that Prince was human. I am not here to judege Prince. It is comforting that he was trying to get help and there were others with him that night on the plane. I do not think, though I am speculating, that Prince suffered and passed peacefully. This article did break some silence. I think as time passes, more people will open up and reveal things. I do not expect his true inner circle, for example, Kirk Johnson, to reveal anything. I say that not because he is hiding anything, but because of his friendship and respect for Prince. It seems that Kirk was the one constant person in Prince's life. That puts him under a spot light. His lawyering up is not necessarily a bad thing. He is in a tight spot.
