All the stories are strange. They don't fit together well and don't fit with any of our families (over 10 year history) with Fentanyl (and Oxy) and hip pain (different people). I suppose that is Prince world though. I'd rather not hear any more of them.

The last sentence of this really hurts...

He told her: “ ‘I had to fight for my life. I remember hearing your voices from afar and saying to myself, ‘Follow the voices, follow the voices, get back in your body, you gotta to do this.’ And he said it was the hardest thing he’d ever done, to get back into his body like that.”

The Narcan shot ripped his tolerance for opiods out of his system completely. That's what it does. He was on borrowed time from that point forwards. So still in pain, he probably took a lower dose that was still too much for his system and he passes a week later.

interesting to realise that, thanks. wow, the hardest thing to get back in his body. neutral i'm glad he was able to come back and have one more paisley party. i feel like, even though i thought the atl show was amazing, he really said the atl shows were the best yet in order to save the atl concert attendees from thinking that those shows contributed to his plane incident. that was very considerate of him. maybe he rescheduled the shows thinking that the audience energy would help improve his health. i would like to think that he really knew after that plane incident how much time he had left, had glimpsed a beautiful afterworld and was just humbly keeping quiet about it.

Well, now Judith Hill's May 14, 2016 FB posting listed below kinda makes sense. She remarked of having a burden that is deeply layered, etc. Now in context of this news article today, sounded like she wanted to speak up over a month ago, but was protecting Prince as all of his family and friends are doing right now.

https://www.facebook.com/JudithHillOfficial/posts/1038806949528936:0

Well, it has taken me a moment to say something and
I don't know if the words will ever come out right. Forgive me if this post sounds jagged but i'm doing this for me. I got to let some of it out before it kills me.

We live in a world where social media posts are more available than the oxygen we breathe. There's nothing worse than seeing your loved one "trend" as all of the sentimental statements flood cyberspace. In my bed I watched it all come and go like another news blurb as people moved on to the next thing. "Life goes on" "Time heals" "Celebrate your memories" and "Carry the torch". What??!!

As he was to many, Prince was a devoted mentor and friend. He challenged me to be the best version of myself. The time spent creating music and performing with him was priceless. Every experience was like a revival service bringing life to my musical bones.

I wish I could just leave it at that but I'm afraid my burden is deeply layered. Its very isolating to have to carry so much and be afraid to say anything. I wish it was as simple as "he inspired me" and "I'm mourning his loss". In the past, I've been good at saying the right thing. I hate being misquoted in the press. But right now I got nothing cute to say. My heart rages because I loved him so much and I just wanted him to be truly happy.

Prince, I've put up with a lot of things, but you don't get do this one. You don't get to die! That's crossing the line. You once said, "I wanna take up all your time and be the only one you hang out with". Well, you've taken my heart, my love, my music, my dreams and everything else with you when you left this earth. Its not fair!

I ask God, "Why me?" "Why did I have to see and feel all of that?" I'm not getting my answers but I do know that there was so much beauty amidst the pain. So much love and so much forgiveness. At the end, there was this silent peace and unconditional love that surrounded Prince and I. Truly divine. Nothing we could produce on our own. I believe God brought ultimate healing. Prince is completely free and happy right now. Its really just me that's suffering now. I'm okay with that as long as remember Prince is the lucky one right now.

A week before his passing, I'll never forget his words, "I love you and I will always be there for you." I love you too, Prince.

But really though, traumatic shocking event is over. You won. Its time for you to email me something funky! You always do. You always come around after something dramatic. Really, this is not funny anymore. I'll be waiting to hear from you any day now. Right??? I hate this so much.

love you forever.

I hate writing words. They just don't get the job done. My heart feels so much more than me trying to explain it. I'm done.

Yeah.. that read like a kick in the chest. I tend to be a skeptic, or rather at least voice my skepticisms, um... why did the hospital not warn Prince, Kirk, and Judith how precarious his situation was given the narcan shot? Maybe they did because the article says Judith would not discuss his medical treatment in detail so who knows? I just don't see how he could have been released from the hospital under those circumstances (knowing he could easily overdose going forward). She says he was fully co-operative but I dunno.

Judith doesn't know a thing about Prince suffering from hip pain, which does make sense to me.

I don't think the hip pain story makes sense just because the grinding of the joint would continue regardless of medication. He would not be able to smoothly walk and dance. It's not a broken bone but it's similarly a body part that is not fully functional. You'd also build up a tolerance to medication, to the point that he would have OD'd long ago if that were really the case.

For me the mystery continues, but Judith would most likely know (with him everday for 2 years) if he was taking meds due to hip pain. I'm glad she was not involved with illegal scripts.

I am thankful to Ms Hill and I'm sure she had to be careful what she said.

Hopefully people who think they know what happened will give it a rest now.

She really doesn't say anymore than everyone already knows, other than she was on the plane with him too, when it happened. Even those around him, really didn't know anything about him that he didn't want them to know, that's really kind of sad.

Heartbreaking yes, but I am sure with the ongoing criminal investigation, she was being cautious on what was said. In addition, I think she is also in some ways respecting Prince's privacy by not giving specific details. I am getting the vide, mostly from the remarks that she said Prince made about the voices and getting into the body (paraphasing) that from this incident, Prince's time was coming.

Regardless, his struggles does not diminish anything in my opinion. I still hold Prince in the highest regards. It was easy to forget that Prince was human. I am not here to judege Prince. It is comforting that he was trying to get help and there were others with him that night on the plane.

I do not think, though I am speculating, that Prince suffered and passed peacefully.

This article did break some silence. I think as time passes, more people will open up and reveal things.

I do not expect his true inner circle, for example, Kirk Johnson, to reveal anything. I say that not because he is hiding anything, but because of his friendship and respect for Prince.

It seems that Kirk was the one constant person in Prince's life. That puts him under a spot light. His lawyering up is not necessarily a bad thing. He is in a tight spot.

This 100%. So sad to read and think about everything they all went through. Can't imagine how terrifying.

I'm glad he left this world in the middle of such a loving, close friendship and not lonely. I'm sorry Judith has to bear the burden of "what if."

I'm now starting to wonder just how serious his hip pain really was. If she was so close to him, how did she not know he was in major pain? She said he moved "swiftly" and there was no evidence of hip pain. Also, the YouTuber .. Maya, I think her name was, who photographed Prince for his last album said the same thing .. no evidence of pain and that he moved swiftly in platform flip flops or something. Has there ever been footage of him hobbling? I'm wondering if somehow he got hooked on the painkillers but without the pain. The reason I bring this up is because it explains how he could have hid his addiction so well.

To me there's not much more to know. I think it's pretty obvious what ever reason he was taking painkillers it wasn't for recreational fun, it wasn't to get high, it was because he was in pain. And knowing how private the man was and the pride he had no doubt he kept that pain from all but the closest people to him (like Kirk). The sad thing is knowing Prince knew there was problem and he was taking steps to do something about it. Sigh.💜

He hid it cause he was a perfectionist....the man was all about his craft. His fans wouldve rather he retired though. At least he'd still be here. Can you imagine the amount of pain he was in while performing? Breaks my heart.

I agree. Some are assuming that that his hip pain was current and severe, but we don't actually know that, any more than we know anything else about his health history.

It's possible that the hip surgery he had (evidence being the hip scar noted in his death report) alleviated his pain but sadly he was already addicted to the pain medication at that point. We just don't know sad

What reason would he have to get involved with painkillers if he was not in pain? Plus we've heard stories that he either had hip replacement or some sort of hip surgery at one point. For all we know it didn't stop the pain.

I see what you're saying, possibly when it comes to performing .. but I'm talking about the day-to-day interactions at PP. I just find it hard to believe he was moving "swiftly" in elevated shoes when he didn't have to .. while in so much pain. Just doesn't add up. Those who were close to him would have noticed him slowing down or maybe hear him mention his pain.

It could also be that his condition was episodic, meaning he had flare ups but was otherwise able to function. He wasn't necessarily medicating for months or years on end. That could be why the dose of meds he took killed him after the narcan shot.

That could explain why his situation wasn't obvious.

Is that really how drug overdoses can look? I've never heard of anyone carrying on a conversation and eating, then suddenly checking out like that in mid-conversation--not as part of a drug overdose in which no obvious drug use was taking place (like as in plain sight)... Anyone have any background knowledge about how that works or length of time between taking a med and simply dying?
