I guarantee you something is about to go down with the criminal investigation and this is Judith's publicist doing damage control. You dont see a man almost die and then fly out to LA and then 'tip" other peeps about what happened. This article is all PR. Nothing else.

Agreed. It's just this thing is soooo weird. I mean no one says anything and then BOOM. It's done blown up today. If these girls start a "He was my man" met with "No he wasn't he was MINE" kind of thing it just...ugh I dunno it didn't have to go down like this. At the very heart of this I wish Prince took his health more seriously.

If he was terminal, would he have *wanted* to get off the drugs?

I think all this talk about illness was from people trying to make sense of the symptoms they saw -- and someone selling a story for $$$$.

It seems doubtful that he would try so hard to get off opiates if he needed them to provide him comfort for a terminal illness. I've presented this same question a few times in support of the theory that he didn't have a terminal illness. And yes, you could be right about the story selling. However, I really did think that the physical and emotional symptoms he was displaying were from his attempts at trying to kick an opiate dependence and that was all.

Honestly this struck me too, because that was the first thing I thought may have happened when we found out how his body was found. I've witnessed more than one seizure and they all happened in a similar fashion. Sitting and talking one second, eye fixed and straight to the floor the next.

but they have convulsions don't they? I've seen a couple seizures, once, I was talking to my aunt when she started making funny noises, eyes didn't go blank but sort of crossed up, then she fell and had a grand mal.

Not always, I've seen people fall face first to the ground saying nothing without twitching.

My temper is at a slow simmer right now. Tons of questions racing through my mind. First it takes someone new to the inner circle to intervene and get some help? Oh, I forgot he didn't listen to anyone, hm, but he listened to her. Interesting. People are bitching about not romantizing it. What the fuq that mean? There must be some serious power attached to being a "true" friend of Prince"s, people bring that up an awful lot. Book deals getting interferred with? The man was on one of the most powerful prescribable painkillers around. He OD'd on the plane BEFORE a narcan shot. How? Let me shutup. headache [Edited 6/21/16 20:38pm]

I'm glad someone else is thinking the same thing. I never been angry about his passing until after reading this but, mainly for the reason that this is painting a bigger picture of how much he was suffering in silence and I can't help but be pissed and think that what if SOMEONE didn't get into the cracks of his psyche at a pivitol time in his life and brainwash him to the point he let his health decline.

Also, who told them about it being an opiod overdose if there was only two people on the plane and Prince was overdosing and unable to speak? Doesn't that seem to point to it being known that he was taking opiods? The medics would not give a Narcon shot as a guess.

This point you made is being overlooked. Yes if Prince all of a sudden was talking to Judith on the plane and then he passed out, and she then said Kirk and her informed the pilot to land. Then he was given Narcan before going to the hospital. That is very telling that either Kirk or Judith, or both of them, knew exactly what he was taking. Very interesting..

I've heard that in some places they will automatically give people who are unconsciencious for unknown reasons a narcan shot just in case. It does not mean that the medics were informed that the person was on opiates.

The comments in this thread in response to what she stated in the article are...borderline crazy. Why didn't she say this, why didn't she say more, whdy did Prince listen to someone so new to his circle, blah blah. You would think that a site dedicated to Prince would have a bit more tact around commenting about people that were close to him. There's much..actually there's an extremem amount if hateration in this thread, lots of conjecture, etc. I'm sure that if Prince could read this he'd be quite dismayed at the pettiness being tossed around because of what people thought Ms Hill left out, if she decided to talk just to get in the paper, if she's being purposely vague, whatever. I mean, as much as everyone here loved Prince, don't you think that she did just sa much and maybe even more given that she was around the man for a long time apparently? To see someone pass out before your eyes, see him come back to life, being told that tried hard not to go back into his body, and then, actually dying. I'm sure that the peopel that knew him are in much more pain than we are. So just because we aern't hearing what we want to hear from people that may higly value and respect their friendship with Prince, doesn't mean they are somehow responsible, or being obtuse, or withholding information for the sake of doing so.

He told her: “‘I had to fight for my life. I remember hearing your voices from afar and saying to myself, ‘Follow the voices, follow the voices, get back in your body, you gotta to do this.’ And he said it was the hardest thing he’d ever done, to get back into his body like that.”

What do yall think someone might be going through, hearing that from Prince, and then his dying a few days later?

I usually don't reply to threads like this but man, this is so messy. Judith has every right to grieve in any way that she deems fit, and I wonder if NYT actually added the publicity/tour date angle to the article and she had no idea? That's the part that makes it come off a bit "off" to others and I'm sure that wasn't the initial intention.

Also, Prince seemed to play the "hang out with/watch animated movies and chill" with quite a few women. He emailed/conversed online with a lot of women, that didn't mean he was seeking relationships with all of them. I honestly think he just liked to hang out with women because we're awesome lol . He just kept a gang of us around like anyone else hangs out with friends. I remember seeing an instagram post from Nik West talking about hanging out with him, eating fruit, watching Inside Out and chilling. Sometimes he just liked to chill! Sometimes he just wanted to talk! Who cares who he did it with, that was his choice, gosh.

I think people need to also remind themselves that Prince was once again a person, he had amazing qualities and a few faults, one of which seemed to be striving for the appearance of perfection even to his own demise. He probably told Judith to go back home, just like he brushed off help from everyone else, he really wanted to be strong enough to beat "it" in his own way just the way he conquered everything else in his life through his own sheer will and dedication. Sadly, his humanness won out in the end. That's it and that's all.

Several medical professionals here have indicated that this shot is automatically given when someone is unresponsive and there is no sign of stroke or other trauma. Apparently, it will cause no harm if there are no opioids in the system.

I gotta say after reading the article i feel that Judith bought him some time because she saw him pass out on the plane versus him passing out on his own and never coming too. We got to spend a little more time with him. Hope it doesn't sound too selfish to say that. It's truly heartbreaking. Im so sorry he was suffering so much.

makes him sound a lot different than anything i've ever heard about him. makes him sound....human, humble, vulnerable. He didn't admit those kinds of things often and never of that magnitude, at least not publicly. I still don't get any of it so i don't want to make incriminating remarks towards judith. I don't get any of it but I'm glad she said something and I don't think she would be so petty as to do it for ego and career like the other lady was saying. We need more people speaking. More will talk, just a matter of time.

this part of the article was somewhat comforting to me because i have heard of and read of several similar situations where a person has a near death experience and then returns for a few days and then passes on, without any drugs being involved. So this helped me fit prince's story into a deeper archetypal "nde followed soon by transition" experience that seems to happen in all kinds of diverse situations.

Well...if you read the side effects of Narcan you can see a list of the exact symtoms people at the Walgreens, etc were saying he had along with his chef:

Narcan is available as a generic termed naloxone. Common side effects of Narcan are flushing, dizziness, tiredness, weakness, nervousness, restlessness, irritability, body aches, diarrhea, stomach pain, nausea, fever, chills, goosebumps, sneezing, shortness of breath, or runny nose

So more than likely he may have even thought he had the flu or was depsparately looking for something to relieve these symptoms.

Also, this article details how most people who are given Narcan are prone to a second quick overdose due to how it affects the receptors.

http://www.wsj.com/articles/princes-death-spotlights-overdose-antidote-dilemma-1462959001

Bottom line: even though he was lined up for professional care that was literally one day late, he should not have been left unsurpervised during this time and also should have canceled the shows. I know that is of course hindsight but just think of how any of us would have reacted if someone we really cared about had just been through this ordeal. Also - has anyone asked why the paramedics immediately administered Narcan? KJ must have told them what was going on?

.

Epilepsy is such a tricky condition they don't fully understand. It is one of those things...It can ALWAYS come back decades later. They tell you you are cured..but I don't think it ever really is. I never tust it.

>>

There are seizures triggers such as lack of sleep, stress, drugs, alchohol that can make one more prone to a seizure (if you have epilspsy). Most important, people think seizures are just shaking...they are not. They can be eye fixation, eye deviation, lip smacking, etc. All kinds of odd behaviors like one is in a zone. And they can last a long time...

>>

I always wondered from the get go if his past epielpsy had something to do in all of this..I have never seen a person having an overdose, but I have seen people having seizures just like Judith described. I don't know though why Narcan would be invovled for a seiuzre...

>>

As far as being conscious or unconcious while getting off a plane--seizures take a ton of energy out of the body. Afterwards, the person is seemingly 'unconscious' and once that wears off, (they sleep it off) which can take a few hours, they can appear normal again....

>>

Personally, I would not be surprised if his death was related to both the opoid and somehow seizure issue intertwined. Seizure death doesn't usually make it in the autopsy report..

thanks for adding this. i wonder what other conditions have this reaction. i recall one interview about an angel healing prince's childhood epilepsy, i wonder if it had ever returned.

The Narcan shot ripped his tolerance for opiods out of his system completely. That's what it does. He was on borrowed time from that point forwards. So still in pain, he probably took a lower dose that was still too much for his system and he passes a week later.

interesting to realise that, thanks. wow, the hardest thing to get back in his body. neutral i'm glad he was able to come back and have one more paisley party. i feel like, even though i thought the atl show was amazing, he really said the atl shows were the best yet in order to save the atl concert attendees from thinking that those shows contributed to his plane incident. that was very considerate of him. maybe he rescheduled the shows thinking that the audience energy would help improve his health. i would like to think that he really knew after that plane incident how much time he had left, had glimpsed a beautiful afterworld and was just humbly keeping quiet about it.

I am not sure about this. A Narcan injection would last about 30 minutes or so, so, that makes me wonder about this whole incident being an "OD". He's sitting there eating dinner and suddenly is no longer responsive. That is very bizarre. If it was an OD, then they would probably had to have keep giving Narcan at the hospital, which maybe they did or maybe they did not. But, then for him to be okay, and rather "peaceful" during a possible treatment of an OD sounds odd, too. I am not doubting her. I think she is telling the complete truth, just that there are still so many questions but at least she gave some answers and for that I am very thankful.

I know some people said they did not understand her take on the drug issue but it sounds like she was concerned for his health in general (who wouldn't be given what she saw), and did not understand it was a pain medication issue, but perhaps others knew and that is why they sought treatment from an addiction specialist. That is how I take it, as in, she was concerned and wanted him to see a doctor and to get well, whatever the issues was.

From a logical standpoint, why would a person (Kirk) want their longtime friend dead with nothing obvious to gain? For shits and giggles? A lot of people pointing out fallacies in storylines...but if those same people know so much...how come they didn't know Prince had a painkiller issue BEFORE he died? Some of these conspiracy theories are so baseless.
