I'm kind of tired of the various self-proclaimed good/best friends declaring what other friends/associates should and should not talk about publicly.

Prince is gone and, frankly, he left no instructions (will, etc.) that would indicate what he thought should happen to his legacy after his death. So it's not clear to me that ideas about his "privacy" are exactly the same now as during his life.

Sharing information can help some fans, such as those who stuck with him for decades, make sense of this. And it might help others suffering from similar problems. So I think all these good friends should do whatever they feel is best and let others do the same and refrain from commenting on it.

So, just in case anyone wonders why so few people in the circle are talking. Or if they are, why so little. A lot of the content in this thread (and all of the other threads exactly like this one) is why.

I'm now starting to wonder just how serious his hip pain really was.

I agree. Some are assuming that that his hip pain was current and severe, but we don't actually know that, any more than we know anything else about his health history.

It's possible that the hip surgery he had (evidence being the hip scar noted in his death report) alleviated his pain but sadly he was already addicted to the pain medication at that point. We just don't know sad

I think it was very severe just in analyzing all of the type of movements he used to do and some he continued to do. The guy did splits until he was 40. Even after that he continued to dance significantly. I've seen video footage of the falls he used to take on stage---that shit would have me sore for a few days and I'm 27. Dancers are athletes, they soak in bath salts after performances just like basketball players and football players. Not sure why people are so quick to undermine the severity of his condition, because he didn't run around town bitching about it or telling everyone his business. The average 57-year-old, that hasn't lived life as a dancer or physical performer has hip-and-joint problems. As much as we treated him like an enigma, he was still FIFTY-SEVEN. Michael Jackson died at 50, and his autopsy revealed that he was suffering from osteo-arthritis. Prince probably had arthritis, bursitis, agitated pain from hip surgery, etc. and everything else that people his age typically encounter PLUS more from all that he gave on stage. (P.S. Morris Day said he had that surgery YEARS ago, because he suggested it after he had his own. The scar just confirms it. Not sure why people still pontificate over this.) Surgery can only do so much.

Well...if you read the side effects of Narcan you can see a list of the exact symtoms people at the Walgreens, etc were saying he had along with his chef:

Narcan is available as a generic termed naloxone. Common side effects of Narcan are flushing, dizziness, tiredness, weakness, nervousness, restlessness, irritability, body aches, diarrhea, stomach pain, nausea, fever, chills, goosebumps, sneezing, shortness of breath, or runny nose

So more than likely he may have even thought he had the flu or was depsparately looking for something to relieve these symptoms.

Also, this article details how most people who are given Narcan are prone to a second quick overdose due to how it affects the receptors.

http://www.wsj.com/articles/princes-death-spotlights-overdose-antidote-dilemma-1462959001

Bottom line: even though he was lined up for professional care that was literally one day late, he should not have been left unsurpervised during this time and also should have canceled the shows. I know that is of course hindsight but just think of how any of us would have reacted if someone we really cared about had just been through this ordeal. Also - has anyone asked why the paramedics immediately administered Narcan? KJ must have told them what was going on?

Amen to that nursev. I know there are alot of people on the org that have closure and don't want to know any more facts on his death. But there are also other people on the other side of the purple fence that want to know just like with any family or friend why they left this earth.

Completely agree. Why not just ignore on Judith Hill's interview, if she feels it was out of line? Why add fuel to the fire with vague insinuations like that? Is it to prove how "in the know" she is by implying that she actually knows "the truth"?

Something keeps nagging me about this which is why come out with this now? I mean I don't want no one to get me wrong I feel bad for her and I'm *kind of* glad we know a little bit more, but now with the catfight fight starting something feels off... Is she trying to allude to the fact that they were a couple? In that FB post she say's he told her "I just wanna take up all of Ur time" etc. I'm wondering if that was a line he threw out there (Like several women saying he told them TMBGITW was written for them) or what? She's going on tour and then she states that now she's only realizing how much she relied on him. Please say this ain't no PR stunt.

I'm now starting to wonder just how serious his hip pain really was. If she was so close to him, how did she not know he was in major pain? She said he moved "swiftly" and there was no evidence of hip pain. Also, the YouTuber .. Maya, I think her name was, who photographed Prince for his last album said the same thing .. no evidence of pain and that he moved swiftly in platform flip flops or something. Has there ever been footage of him hobbling? I'm wondering if somehow he got hooked on the painkillers but without the pain. The reason I bring this up is because it explains how he could have hid his addiction so well.

[Edited 6/21/16 18:18pm]

I have seen a couple of videos where he was slightly limping. I also saw an interview where someone asked him about his foot. Apparently he had an accident on stage when a monitor was out of place, according to Prince. He said that his big toe was bent under his foot. It sounded very painful. I'll see if I can find the interview and the performances where he was limping a bit.

As far as the pain - I came across this video - and yes I know the video is stupid and I am not responsible for its creation - but if you watch from about 2:20 on it at least appears to show him trying to stand while waiting for an elevator (yes I know - the irony...) and looking very uncomfortable and even propping himself up by his cane. You can almost see grimacing, etc but he is very careful not to show any real facial expressions. Then when it is time to go he just stridea away calmly.

Dunno - maybe I am seeing things but he definitely doesn't look comfortable - and without "successful" surgery it probably only got worse.

I agree too.

Hell, Kiran and Damaris were nowhere to be found when he was in distress so they have no moral high ground to judge Ms. Hill. She didn't say anything inappropriate, they just feel convicted because of her candor.

That's why what kiran said was so stupid. There was no need for her to mention more to the story if she thought nothing should be said.

And now after rewatching even the beginning of the video shows him waiting in a chair for the elevator - another indication that he was either in pain or extremely tired to need a chair just to wait for an elevator.

He skipped a bit in this video, like she was trying to shift his weight more to the left leg than the right.

I believe this is from when he was in Atlanta for his last concert.

Interesting find. I can see what you are saying. When I saw him prop his left leg up on that chair while standing it reminded me of what I do. I have back pain and when I am uncomfortable on the coach I lean forward like that to "stretch" my back. I do that sometimes too when on the laptop. It looks like he is stretching his left hip or leg.

I was booted off the org twice so I couldn't follow the man's loves, but forgive me, never heard of kiran and the other woman, well, I saw her making a prank call to him a few years ago, she seemed pretty immature, but that's what prince liked I guess.

nod I think we all need to ask some folks some questions. Well the gravy train stopped in April. I feel the way the fans have been locked out is a shame. I wont support anything again from any of them! Even MJ's fans got closure and know what happened to him so Princes fans dont deserve that too?

Honestly this struck me too, because that was the first thing I thought may have happened when we found out how his body was found. I've witnessed more than one seizure and they all happened in a similar fashion. Sitting and talking one second, eye fixed and straight to the floor the next.

but they have convulsions don't they? I've seen a couple seizures, once, I was talking to my aunt when she started making funny noises, eyes didn't go blank but sort of crossed up, then she fell and had a grand mal.

I wouldn't call her 'immature' necessarily. Damaris is 25 now, so she would have been around 21 when that prank call was initially recorded....so if anything it was age-appropriate.

sorry if this goes off topic, but your post got me thinkin about how P is the 1 man in so many womens' lives. even in my life, without ever having met him, i feel like his presence satisfied a need that probably saved me from a lot of relationships. and i really think on a musical level he was consciously trying to be there for any lonely woman, like some kind of ministry, like tmbgitw was written for you and you and, actually, all women wink . but for women who were actually his close friends, it would be harder to accept how many women he cares for.

this was probably a huge thing to get off her chest so she can start getting back to what she's been doing her whole life, making music.

Also, who told them about it being an opiod overdose if there was only two people on the plane and Prince was overdosing and unable to speak? Doesn't that seem to point to it being known that he was taking opiods? The medics would not give a Narcon shot as a guess.

This point you made is being overlooked. Yes if Prince all of a sudden was talking to Judith on the plane and then he passed out, and she then said Kirk and her informed the pilot to land. Then he was given Narcan before going to the hospital. That is very telling that either Kirk or Judith, or both of them, knew exactly what he was taking. Very interesting..

Exactly. One of the 2 knew and told the emergency crew on the runway to be ready.

My temper is at a slow simmer right now. Tons of questions racing through my mind. First it takes someone new to the inner circle to intervene and get some help? Oh, I forgot he didn't listen to anyone, hm, but he listened to her. Interesting. People are bitching about not romantizing it. What the fuq that mean? There must be some serious power attached to being a "true" friend of Prince"s, people bring that up an awful lot. Book deals getting interferred with? The man was on one of the most powerful prescribable painkillers around. He OD'd on the plane BEFORE a narcan shot. How?
