I actually like it. Prince for today's world. It could be a radio hit.

Wow, this song stinks. | |

WOW, this song is....
...not very good. See the man with the blue guitar, maybe one day he`ll be a star...

Horrible. This stinks more than incest and candles.

This project is like MPLSound but worse. It even comes with a rock album on the side (which is also worse than its spiritual predecessor, Lotusflow3r).

I'm loving it!!!!!!!!! We Can Funk

If all tracks sound like clouds and u know I won't buy this album. That would be the first prince album ever that I don't own.

It's gimmicky. I'd put it in the same category as "Strange But True".

Hated the first verse. Then the chorus kicked in and I was like, hang on this is kinda cool. Wanted to see where he'd take it but didn't really go anywhere... 😕 worth another listen tho... "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"
"That's becuase we're soulless auttomatons"

I like the groove alot. I didnt care for the beginning trying to sound too hip but the groove is nice.

Incence & Candles was also my first thought. I like Clouds but this is not good IMO

I like it. | |

1999 - "I don't follow trends they just follow me" (interesting, even prophetic) 2014 - "U Know" If "Clouds" garnered mixed reaction (I personally loved it).... this might be tip of the negativity iceberg.
Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

This might be the electronic track Jon Bream wrote about when Prince played the new stuff for him a while ago. He stated that it came after "The Gold Standard" and that it might require a few listens to get into (he was under the impression that "The Gold Standard" would be the opener for the album, but that doesn't seem to be the case).

The song is not that bad. I think people listen to the new music with old stuff in mind so instead of listening you're just picking stuff to compare it to. It isn't Kiss or even if I was your girlfriend but it's an ok song.

I like it, sounds promising Welcome 2 The Dawn

Def better in a second listen. Loses a bit of the Incense and Candles (blecch) feel and got a bit of the relentless driving groove of "It" (but missing the intensity and craving!) "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"

Doesn't sound like a Prince record.
Which is exactly what you want a new Prince record to sound like.

I like this more than Clouds.
And BCW following it sounds good. I'm liking how this cd is shaping up. Its kinda lush groove. [Edited 9/1/14 6:53am]

It'd be a hell of a lot better without the auto tune crap, other than that I like it.

Huh, this one's kind of interesting - would've been better with a ripping guitar solo at the end or some more urgent vocals, but that groove is pretty nice.

First impression was, "HUH?!??" Second listen was, "Hmm..." It's kind of a vibe track that you need to play repeatedly to catch the lyrics. I'm not sure if I like it or not, but it's definitely something I haven't heard from Prince before. His voice is sounding a little sleepy. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

After repeated listens, I think I like it more than Clouds and Breakdown, if only because my taste tends toward sparer, weirder Prince. All of these songs are growing on me, though, and all benefit from multiple listens. AOA may not be the album I wanted (hard funk) but I'm open to pleasant surprise and discovery. I think the production (lazers and smurf voices included) sounds great, say what anyone will about Josh.

Wow. Truly awful. :disbelief: This might be the first Prince album ever that I don't even bother buying. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

yeah that. | |
