Sounds interesting. The overall production is lackluster. Not the quality I would expect from Prince. Love the R & B vibe but just not something I'd expect from P. I would have rather he did a duet with Mila J who is beautiful and can sing then sample her song. I'm part of that younger generation that he's trying to appeal to but I'm just not feeling this one from P. On the album it might sound well when paired at The Breakdown and Clouds though.

The lyrics though...do scream desperation. Can someone please transcribe the lyrics?! It's hard to make them out.

This project is like MPLSound but worse. It even comes with a rock album on the side (which is also worse than its spiritual predecessor, Lotusflow3r).

That's not saying much as Scrotusflow3r is extremely overated.

I like this song.

with U. Wonder the age of the people who hate it n the people who like it. Twitter ("youngins") like it. Facebook (older) don't. As someone said earlier "the more it is hated here, the more the general public is going to like it.

It's not my favorite that I have heard from the album so far, but I do like it.

I've liked everything I have heard so far. I think The Breakdown and Clouds are great, and think BCW and U Know sound nice and fit well with the album. He can't please everyone, and that's okay. Some people think Lovesexy is overproduced, and hate the album cover.. And then others think it's P's best. It's all subjective really. But I can only speak for myself, and I for one am excited abouth this release.

Does anyone know what was said, if anything, after the listening parties about this one? Could this be the song that the journalist defined as weird sounding?

I still don't know what I think about it, but I have been listening to it on repeat all evening..

I love it, hated it on the first listen but it grew on me by the second listen. Same with Clouds. I am so excited for this album love the rnb grooves of Clouds BCW and U Know. I'm kinda confused on why he sampled, he's just being hypocritical doing that. But it's a damn good sample. I won't be surprised if this song makes it on urban radio, Prince is making fresh music it deserves to get airplay!

After three listens - I can only say that I spent all of college and more than 15 years of marriage convincing my significant other that Prince was one of the most talented songwriters and musicians on the planet. I will be keeping this song out of shared playlists for fear of rendering that effort useless. Next.

Hoping it grows on me but I'll wait for the whole album to listen again. At the moment I have Jughead on repeat in an attempt to purge U Know. In about 40 minutes I'll be ready to move up to Horny Pony.

If "Clouds" garnered mixed reaction (I personally loved it).... this might be tip of the negativity iceberg.

So Prince naming an album "Art Official Age" after De La Soul did the same thing "Art Official Intelligence," is PROPHETIC?

Sounds like he's following trends here. I still like his new music, but I'm not going to call him some creative genius when it comes to trendy lyrics and borrowed themes. That's not creating trends Prince, it's following them.

Holy shit! That beat is killer...modern sounding as all get out! Lyrics are intriguing. I think he's giving a woman the whatfor for sinning with another guy.

Ha Ha! Prince is even doing the Rick Ross grunt. Pretty good "P"rince! The falsetto during the chorus doesn't really do anything for the track, though.

Alright, Prince, if you're going to sound modern, this is the kind of track you want. Kicks ass! Also, "P" get a hip-hop producer like Kanye or Mike Will Made It to take your sound in new directions.

Bring on "Art Official Age"!

falloff Oh Lordy... Tried a second listen and had to stop midway. dead I guess I'll take a cue from TheEnglishGent and also wait until the entire album arrives to listen to it again in the "proper" context. And I'm now more convinced that the affirmations will indeed be segues, not instrumentals. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Glad we get to preview some of this music before buying it. Don't think I will buy this one but it might grow on me. Mila J is fine. I wonder if Prince will try and work with her next.

They have already worked together. She was in his Diamonds and Pearls video. Watch her interview with the Breakfast Club on youtube. He's way ahead of us.

I really dont know what people are expecting

.

The Mila J song Blinded is pretty good and so was the mixtape she released

Prince has just moved into modern times and its time most people on here moved to it aswell

You are not going to see another Purple Rain, Sign O The Times etc ever again

.

I like Clouds but like this better but thought The Breakdown was terrible

Parts of U Know have that Pharrell feel about it - its the sound at the moment so just deal with it

.

I like the fact that he has gone back to his black RnB sound

Maybe the only critisiscm is he has lost his edge a bit
