However the fact that its someone elses song and he's rapping on top of it...

Its just an ok filler track like Strange But True others have stated

Clouds however has been on repeat from day one!

Oh and for all those stating NPS is great compared to what you've heard so far.....

im sure josh had alot 2 do with this track this sounds like the drake and the shit u hear on radio now this is not classic prince im not impressed coming from a 50 year old legend yet i love prince so much anything he do makes me happy i guess this gotta grow on me. thanks joshua 4 updating prince i guess?

I have been so excited about the Plectrum album since the small shows in feb, but now I think I'm gonna prefer this. I love clouds, like the breakdown. Can take or leave BCW though.

This is only "experimental" if you haven't listened to any r'n'b in the past couple of years.

I love dance, modern hiphop(?) included..therefore, I love watching dance videos. This song has the perfect beat/vibe I think a lot of (hh) choreographers are using these days. The first thing I thought about when I heard this song was hh(slow) dance...which I enjoy/watching. Sometimes. for me, it's all about the vibe.

It doesn't surprise me that majority of the org loathe " U Know" because the sound makeup is probably too current for most here and there isn't anything wrong with that. You like what you like regardless of the reason, i.e, age, influences, cultural background, prejudices etc...Certainly can't please everyone.

Now, if only my favorite choreorgrapher would make a dance video to this one....!!!

We already got it...its called Clouds.

It would be interesting to have a simple "do you like it?" poll where people can only vote once yes or no... of all the recent tracks this one seems the most divisive...

Glad we get to preview some of this music before buying it. Don't think I will buy this one but it might grow on me. Mila J is fine. I wonder if Prince will try and work with her next.

Doesn't sound like a Prince song in any way and that's never a good sign when he's singing it.

It's someone elses song, but whenever there's a thread about some act doing one of Prince's songs, I always think, I'd rather hear Prince sing/play Muppet's sing-a-long songs than listen to anyone else do "When Doves Cry" or "Guitar". That's just me. He made the music his now, I like it.

Hah, yeah, okay. In my defense, I did put the word in scare quotes.

It's not really cutting edge when you consider what's out there, but the same type of production techniques were once used only in genres like IDM. I'd still say the track comes off as being pretty weird to the average listener. The vocals are quite unusual as well (I'd wish there would be a change of tonal centre found somewhere though, because the entire track seems to be rooted on just one chord).
