No story. Just a press release (actually two; one from Prince's people, one from Warners) in my inbox. There will most assuredly be lots of stories posting today. It's very very real.

I'll believe it when it actually happens... i.e. product actually in stores. Don't mean to be cynical, but..well, after wishing for something for so long, and to think it might actually happen?

Prince probably realized how much $$$ he was leaving on the table w/ the 30th anniversary coming up if he did nothing.

Hopefully this will come to fruition and tons of great unreleased material will see the light of day.

the thing that gives me good hope is that the press release mentions that

prince will get back his masters for all his warners album through this new

agreement, so that gives him extra incentive to go through with it.

You mean to tell me that Prince has come to an agreement with Warner Bros (his arch enemy for over 20 years now) to:

1. Re-release Purple Rain, remastered and expanded

2. This agreement covers all the albums up til the 90s...so I guess it will go up to Chaos & Disorder

3. and does this cover the new 2014 album?

4. He now owns his master recordings?

Can I get clarity on that please because, other than the Revolution reuniting with Prince, this is probably the ultimate/mega Prince news that EVERYONE has been waiting for. Including Prince.

It really does make sense. WB and Prince have been sitting on a goldmine. If this is handled properly, it could be huge for both of them AND the fans.
