There's always people who buy pressed stuff no-matter-what.

I meant that since there are the ones who will buy it anyway and share it, the less people investing on this the better.

I'd never pay a cent for this. Especially when I most probably won't bother watching it, the same as NSJ, SDF and many many others.

Let's not put more money in Eye's or Sab's pockets. They have been taking advantage of the works of others for years, and charging people a fortune for just the pressing costs.

Yeah, I concur. I STILL haven't bothered watching more than 10 minutes SDF or NSJ. It bored the shit outta me when I tried. And I'm sure Montreaux will be no different.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Prince is no longer an artist who you have to visually see when performing live. If you were at a concert, and just closed your eyes the entire time, you wouldn't be missing a thing (and what you're hearing isn't necessarily kickin' ass either). And that's such a damn shame because this man DEMANDED that you not take your eyes off the stage even for a minute, because the shows were just that good!! No more.

what is it u want him to do onstage exactly other than sing and play his guitar? As for the dancing, he still dances in his shows but it was reported during the time this show happened that he had hip problems..

Because it's pretty clear you guys (haters) like "Prince the showman", stuck back in the 80's, when he was younger, probably with more ideas and bravery etc, can you just think that people are pleased to watch a mature musician doing his thing on stage, even without having to run from one side of the stage to another, playing sexy with the mic, run through Cat's legs etc...? Can you just think Prince is a mature musician who's playing a guitar, bass or whatever and there are many people (me definitely) who fucking enjoy it? If you had a different state of mind in which you could appreciate what's going on now, and without being happily stuck in the past, you could understand that watching him play is for us still fantastic, and avoid bullshit like "if you close your eyes it's the same, there's nothing to see", maybe for you, but please avoid general statements like this. You are definitely not like me and many others on this or other websites. We try (and we do most of the time) appreciate what he does nowadays, not without criticizing a few things. Do we always need to see a "firework show" on stage, or can we just stick to the musician?

Does prince fake his guitar solo faces? Who gives a shite! It's the sound that comes from the guitar that counts. Can't quite believe some hold this against him? Grumpy people dwell on forums I am discovering!

I for one can't wait to get this through the post.

I have and they are terrific IMO... But I always like to read the reviews of others, expecially for pro-shot videos. That is, the thoughtful opinions of those who are actually interested in watching them. lol

I can't be bothered dealing with all the moaning and sniping that goes on in here anymore, and that would inevatibly happen if I wrote anything, it bores me.

Yeah, why don't we have him sit on a stool and play guitar (or even just sing) for 2 hours?? That's "mature" like according to your logic, isn't it? In case you or anyone else forgot, he is a part of SHOW business. He's so worried about the business part of it, that he forgets there's also a "show" side as well.

No one mentioned that he HAD to go through Cat's legs again or whatever, but let me ask you this. If he performed this way for his entire career run, would you be as in awe of him in a live setting as you are now (since we've all seen the type of legendary shows he's put forth)? Hell, he would never have gotten is golden rep for giving the best performances if he did. It's because he had EVERYTHING in his shows. He had the great musicianship that you were talking about, but he ALSO had something to see and play off of for the crowd. He truly gave you a SHOW. Now, he mainly only gives you the music, which is HALF of what you used to get, and y'all are licking his 'nads too much to even see it. But hey. whatever. biggrin

So what the hell shall he do? You know you're talking about MANY years ago? I really like to know what your idea of a perfect SHOW by Prince would be nowadays. Remember he's 53, not a 25-year old guy at start of his career wearing stockings and pretending to have his hohner ejaculate. No one disrespects the old material, no one would, we would not be here, but the main problem is you and I have complete different ideas of what music is. Another difference is that you like a SHOW, possibly including dancing, splits, acting and in the end, good music, I like a concert and I love to see musicians play instruments, be it a guitar (my favourite), bass or drums or whatever, so I guess I'm lucky enough lately. If we were to witness other artists live, I guess you could go see Lady Gaga, I'd rather go see Santana, or Jimi Hendrix, if that was possible. But hey, how boring am I or would they be, they would just be musicians play guitar all the time biggrin

Fucking thank you.

So many great live performers who rely purely on the power of their playing to entertain people and it works. I don't get why seeing a performer play amazing rhythm whilst singing and their voice sounding brilliant isn't enough. It's almost as if they'd prefer the Nude tour or the Rave Un2 dvd to this....
