Dolfijn FM ( "Dolphin FM" in Dutch; www.dolfijnfm.com ), a local popmusic station in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles, Caribbean, has also added it to their playlist! They present it as what it is, just a new giveaway song by P for the summer, so in all the song might get more airplay than we here at the org would have granted it It might have to do something though with the director of the station being a huge long-time P fan, however...

This song is so frustrating for me, because I like that it sounds like "Prince" and I don't mind that it's fluffy pop, I just think he could have spent more time on the lyrics. The line "I think it's gonna be" and "just wait and see" make me cringe. "See the people gathered all around". Just total cheese and hard to listen to.

I read before some1 saying the singer is Shelby.

Now seen as there are 33 pages I don't know if that question has been resolved (as to who it is).

I just counted: The phrase "hot summer" appears no less than 40 times in the song! I reckon that has to be a record for the most number of times the title is sung in a song under 4mins long.

They just played "Hot Summer" on Dutch Radio 3FM. The DJ said the song was the first single from the upcoming album entitled "Hot Summer"...

It's also not a perfect recording. I find the pacing up and down somehow distracting, as if the editing of the different parts was bad and the singing was done afterwards.

"You, I don't know, but me ... ITHINKIT'SGONNABE .. Hot Summer!"

Plus - I don't know if it's worth being mentioned, because it may be simply that the radio station didn't mix it well when they played it - there's way too much power on the bass and way too little on the upper middle frequencies. It makes it all sound spongy.

This is exactly how I feel about the song.

I like the song itself, and the instrumentation and sounds.

Like I said before, and as U say, along with some others...

It's like the vocal track isn't finished. Liv's background vox R more dominant in the mix than Prince's, and I don't mind him singing the casual lower register this way, but it begs 4 more vocals from Prince.

Even the simple lyrics would be OK with me, if the vocals were fleshed out a bit more.

I REALLY doubt that Prince would title an album 'Hot Summer'.

Also... with regards 2 all of these reports that the song is from his next album...

Didn't someone say that it wouldn't be on the next album, but the album after that? Maybe someone from the Current?
